Ahhhhhh, you’ve answered my question - “the pin gets squished”. For the life of me I couldnt see how this would work... Thankyou so much. Where would we be without TH-cam instruction vids? Probably still sitting here looking at the kit and assuming they’ve sent me the wrong parts....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You have simply through your excellent demonstration explained how to use the tools supplied. I now have the confidence to use them successfully. Thank you.
Hi Diane....Thank you for this video. I had my set for about two years and decided to use it tonight....I went to the website of the company, but I did it wrong 🤦🏾♀️....so I searched TH-cam and found your video....now I got it😊....thank you so much!
Thank you for this nice clear video, I've not used the plastic poppers before either, just received delivery, and I'll be popping away happilly after your help. God Bless 🙋♀️🙏🏻❤️
Thank you so much for this. My box of snaps has been hanging around for ages as i was abit scared to try them out. Now i know how easy they are to use, i'll be snapping everything!
Thank you so much for your video I just bought a kit just like this and am so new to KAM SNAPS that I did not know what to do. THANK YOU !!!! So helpful
Thank you so much! I was worried about using this set as I just wasn't sure I had faith in a plastic snap. You've given me that! I have also subscribed...
Thanks Diane. I have used Kam snaps on garments but haven't tried on other materials. I was drying my hair this morning and thought how I need a cord keeper for it, but too much time involved with sewing fabrics and Velcro. Now I will cut a bit of cork and use a Kam snap. Marvelous. Just a few minutes effort.
Thank you Diane! I've been successfully using KAM snaps on my projects for several years now and have both the hand held pliers and table press for plastic snaps, metal rivets and metal grommets (I use a Crop-a-dile Big Bite to punch the holes). You get a bigger reach with the table press (and it's easier on your hands then the hand held). The plastic snaps are also available with a longer prong for thicker items. Look forward to seeing how you use them in future videos!!
Brilliant thanks Terry, I'm definitely going to get hold of the dies for the table press, and maybe some of the longer prong snaps too. Great info, thank you x
Oh my gosh. I literally thought the same thing when I first saw the snaps, I just thought they looked “cheaper”. But after seeing them on some wallets etc, they looked cute & made me wonder about them.
Thank you for the tutorial, great explanation of how to use it, which parts to use where, etc. I would, however, mention not to press too hard on the machine. The bottom bit where you place the cap is not that strong. You do not need too much pressure to get the KAM together.
Thank you for this video, I have just purchased these and have to say the instructions were a little bit "lost in translation" lol. I think I would have struggled without your help xx
Excellent demonstration! I had been looking at these online and wondering if they might be something I could use. Now I know a good deal more about the pros and cons of them. Thanks! (BTW, I believe the pointy thing you used to pierce the fabric would be called an awl.)
I got these from amazon. No instructions. The 1 st video I saw was ritz no words no explanations no names of female or male fastener no talking at all couldn’t see the snaps up close. Yours was explanatory not fast you did it on a couple of things and now I know the female from male fastener and you should’ve had your video with amazon attached . Thank you for figuring it out. Also, thanks for showing us there’s many sizes of snaps. I saw how on that spritz video they unscrew the caps and spring to put the bar tool in but we didn’t need that at all. Your ace brilliant😺👍
Great video Diane, you’ve certainly taken the mystery out of Kam snaps. Looking forward to seeing how y out incorporate them into one of your patterns.
Thanks Debbie, have been using them on various projects now. Brilliant on thin leather, card, etc. Just be carefull if you are using materials such as hand or machine knitted woolen items to use a backing as the snap will just pull away and ruin your project.
hi Diane, you can buy Kam snaps with longer prongs for thicker fabrics, you can also buy metal kam snaps...never tried them I would assume you need a different tool for fitting them though.....buying the cheaper ones can be risky as many are really poor quality, lots of people use them for baby clothes so better to buy genuine ones that rarely fail than cheaper ones that are less reliable....if you buy genuine ones, they come in four sizes x
I just received these from MartelliEnterorises with extra parts. I did however, go through a few before they worked good! There are 10 pieces of each and twenty on the ones with the needle type head.
I bought a couple bags for guy gear projects from Hobby Lobby. I was disappointed with the two tools for securing them. Used a punch and hammer without success as well. Next attempt will be to melt the tack center with a soldering iron. I will grind, and file to shape the tip just right. I think that might be the working solution for those of who might not order or find that good tool locally..
They look like the right tool for the job. Your viewers who use those snaps for various projects would be ahead ordering your plyers. Have a great week! th-cam.com/video/dLKJYC5nY-E/w-d-xo.html
I have covered them with fabric by cutting a small circle and drawing it up around the spike part. That way look more fancy for those who don’t like the look of plastic or don’t have the right colour
I currently have plastic snaps. They have not been consistent. I go through so many snaps before they go in. Even when I think they are snapped, they fall out after being washed and dried. I am looking into changing to KAM to see if they offer better snaps.
Great video, thank you. It’s been a year, do you still like it - I’m wondering, are the snaps holding up? I’m considering getting this for diy sanitary pads and whatever else. I like your cord holder idea. Thanks again! 😊
Just like you I have had 3 tools and thy are all the wrong ones. So I saw a video the other day and it looked easy , and I tried but my tool is not right it does not squeeze the point down it pushes it to the side and on the cap it actually presses it almost out and brakes the whole thing. So I am fed up with my tools 🛠 that I have. Need to go and see if I can get the right one this week. I love the snapper if only I knew how to use it years ago.
I have used these snaps but some of them seem to fail don't know if its me or the snaps and they are a devil to get off I have started clipping them together first to make sure they fasten before I attach but some of the outers on the female parts seem to collapse
I can't get the point to squish, it kinda bends off to the side. it then blocks the fastening and makes it useless. How do you get it to squish perfectly?
Check your pliers are set correctly for the cap size and the correct grommet is installed. Also there are some cheaper sets on the market that arent quite as good, so without seeing it, it's quite hard to say for sure. Sorry I can't help more
Does anybody know that if you squeeze too hard you can do something to make the snap not work right? Because I put some snaps on my granddaughters dress but they don’t make a nice clicking snap sound when I close them together and they come undone very easily. Maybe they were just faulty snaps but they are Kam snaps. If anybody has any advice on this I’d be happy to know it. Thank you
I appreciate that you did the close-up of this video. Thank you for these great Instructions.

Glad to help xx
You bought the exact same set and I'd had problems, so glad I've come across this, thanks!
Am happy too. I have cut all my wallet but struggled with putting them together. Now if I need to squash it am going to try again
I had to use glue to keep mine on. That seems to work, but they're not great quality. For small little cheapish fun things they're fine.
You have simply through your excellent demonstration explained how to use the tools supplied. I now have the confidence to use them successfully. Thank you.
Great to hear!
Just received my snap press and with no instructions included so your video was a life saver, thank you !
Great to hear!
Your explanation is very clear. Thank you.!!!
Thank you for making a video about the snap device. Your instructions were clear and concise, making it super easy for me.
Thanks. Great to hear! xx
First video that made sense. I’ve watched several and this one makes total sense thank you
Thank you for this video. I have bought cam snaps for baby bibs, etc, & always had a problem doing it. Watching this is so helpful.

Can you use any replica snaps with the KAM pliers? (Sorry Im new to this and just been looking at KAM on you tube showing their various pliers)
Very informative and well maintained nails make the close ups easy on the eye. Thank you for your production👍
Glad you like them!
Thankyou for this tutorial session as no directions came with my snaps
Glad it helped Angie xx

I currently have plastic snaps. They have not been consistent. I go through so many snaps before they go in. Even when I think they are snapped, they fall out after being washed and dried. I am looking into changing to KAM to see if they offer better snaps.
I think I have been lucky with the economical set of plastic snaps I purchased. If you buy KAM snaps you will be assured of a good quality
Great video, thank you. It’s been a year, do you still like it - I’m wondering, are the snaps holding up? I’m considering getting this for diy sanitary pads and whatever else. I like your cord holder idea. Thanks again! 😊

I can't get the point to squish, it kinda bends off to the side. it then blocks the fastening and makes it useless. How do you get it to squish perfectly?
