Awesome comparison as always! I really like how you do your best to show the native processing differences between the models. I am assuming that the Sony still dims over time in game mod with a static HUD on screen - moreso than the LGs. I'm loving my A80J but that's the one thing I would improve. I also wonder, if you normalized the brightness btwn this and say the QD-Oleds and tried to increase saturation to match, what panel/processing differences would still remain that would be very noticeable.
I am in love with sony picture quality. Looks so real, 3d and detail.
Great video as always. My minds always races between the S95C A95L and G3? I like the LG five year panel warranty. You know WRGB OLED is proven. QD-OLED has such fantastic bright colors but really this is new tv technology. Maybe five years down the road it will be more proven. Keep up the great tv reviews.
I have this TV and you only need tools for the stands if like me you need to raise them to fit the Sony soundbar,loving this TV especially with Ps5 😊👏

I would be VERY interested in seeing a comparison between Sony’s new X90L and X93L full-array LED & Mini-LED models. I have a bright living room so reflective OLED screens aren’t ideal.

Yeah, I have to agree - I expected it to be crushed by the C2 and G2 but like the A90J vs the A80J where the A80J looked remarkable in comparisons, it looks like the A80L can fend off the C2 and G2. I'm not sure it can take on the QD OLEDs and G3 though.
I have the feeling that MLA doesn't only increase brightness, it also sharpens the picture so I'm very curious to see the G3 against Sonys.
Saw the LG 77" G3 with the MLA technology and it was heads and shoulders above ANY tv! Wasn't even close... Second best tv was the Samsung S95C which was very vivid with outstanding contrast and black levels...
@@ericj1385 If the A95L can't beat the G3, I am considering it. The Sony will be more expensive, so it needs to deliver, which will be very hard.

I might consider A90j only if it is sealed in the box.
Please compare the A80K 65” to the A80L 65” so we can see what progress Sony has made this year.
I just purchased an A80 K at a slightly discounted price recently.

Very good content sir. I would like to mention that it is preferable to not lay an Oled flat while attacking the stand. Sony’s box is designed to easily install the stand without laying the tv flat.
The 83 inch a80l has heat sink and a different panel than the smaller versions. It’s a brighter and better panel along with its better processor, it’s a beast.
Great review ! ✊🏼 Funny as I was watching I'm saying to myself "Wow they are both impressive" and then I forgot to remind myself that I'm watching this video on my X95K 85" (calibrated) and I'm saying hell I'm good ! Lol. I had the a80j and it was great but the X95K 85" is more vibrant than that and the LG by far. I can live with the less than "perfect" blacks and a little blooming now and then. None of those OLED's come close in brightness and specular lights that the mini led provides.

85 X95L will be a beast, it's gonna be unboxed on Brian from Tech Therapy this Thursday, June 1st, so I'd suggest to check that one out.
Are the colors better on x95k?
@@denissssss8579 More color luminance than WRGB Oled, but QD Oled will be similar in Brightness, so the A95L and X95L will be the ultimate fight
I think the A95L @77” would be the only Sony tv I’d be interested this year, although I wouldn’t purchase any tv that didn’t have 4 HDMI 2.1 ports
because switching up cables is too much work for you....
@@TheAntifluencer no in my own use case I wouldn’t need to do any of that as I run everything through my AVR which has 7 2.1 ports but only the A95L would work since it’s the only model that I wouldn’t have to constantly switch between VRR & Dolby Vision

I have a sony a90j oled great for movies. I was told it was great for sports its not good at all the abl makes the picture dim really fast when watching sports. The motion is not good. I might get a Sony mini LED to replace it or qd oled . I want to make sure I don't downgrade ?
Compared to Sony LG always looks soft and washed out. I am very surprised how great the TV performs even compared to the LG G2. Even here I prefer the Sony in 70-80 % of the scenes you showed us. Thanks for your effort! Could you do a comparison to the A95K and S95C? That would be awesome... 😎
Well the A80L is using a newer panel than last year’s G2 and C2. So no surprise there.
LG G3 or Sony A80L in 65" if they are close enough in pricing? Only to be used for OTT streaming & youtube. Need right balance of image and sound (without soundbar for now).

I have a 77” A80J ( Evo panel with the glossy panel variant) and its a beast. My homie has a 77” LG C2 and he wants to trade simply because the cognitive processing of the Sony is nothing like the rudimentary machine learning LG uses. He initially got it for gaming but now all he does more is stream netflix where the Sony shines at.
I’m like nah on that trade my g.
I’m staking out for an 83” A90J for that master series glamour tho and possibly sell the 77” A80J

It's only in flagship models and the cameras is removable. It's not connected to satellite.
Great video but here is a suggestion...Never lay an OLED flat. When you remove the cover box, the styrofoam holding the TV from the bottom is designed so you can remove the two bottom end pieces to get access to the leg openings, where you essentially are holding the TV upright using the center piece only. This allows access to the leg openings to snap in the legs from the bottom. The legs can be installed with a low profile or adjust to a taller profile if you want to add a soundbar or something similar in front of the TV. Once the legs are on, it comes right out of the styrofoam and iz ready to put on a table without ever laying the TV flat. I got the 65 inch and it's a great TV, especially on a black Friday deal!!
It is recommended to lay it flat for even distribution of stress as keeping it in the styrofoam puts all the stress on the edges of the tv where it’s thinnest therefore weakest. The box even shows an image depicting exactly as he did in the video except on a table.
And here I am just bought A80J 2 monthd ago. 😊😊😅😅
@Z Man what do you mean worth nothing? The A80J especially the 77” variant would throw blows with current OLEDs today
There's a better way of installing the stand by just lifting the bottom and inserting those.😂

A80L is a hard pass this year, it doesn't perform as good as the A90J, you can get a 83" A90J for a lot cheaper than a 83" A80L, which is a big blunder on Sony's end.
Also don't think they will continue with the A80 series after this one, my prediction is we will instead see a "Budget" QD Oled next year w/o Heatsink
You can get a a90j 83” for about 4k tax free on greentoe, although I went for the s95c 77 for that price this go hehe

In my opinion the A80L is better than the A90J...But don't take my word for it...Go see for yourself at Best Buy It's definitely brighter with better specular highlights..
Is it just me or does the C2 look brighter and better in most scenes.. it has better blacks, way better whites, and generally more brightness. Look at the paintbrush scene, that’s a very very bad scene for the A80L. The white looks dim and blue.

The Sony Destroys the C2....being slightly brighter, doesn't mean better. The color is so off on the C2 compared to the Sony. Skin tones on the C2 are really bad too. I am waiting for the A80M series. and the LG G4 series.

I like Sony products but the A80L should be substantially less expensive than the LG C3 because the Sony set only has two HDMI 2.1 ports while the LG has four.
