Hey, I installed these on a series s controller I got the right stick centered with a little sim ejector, however I can’t get the left one to calibrate at all, what are you supposed to do? Just like insert a little tool and turn? I took apart another Hall effect stick and don’t really understand what I’m supposed to be turning or poking at, plzzz helpppp
use a pin. If you can find one, it's much easier, there's 2 holes in each side, so 4 in total, it's easier to see in the video I explain how it works a bit. If the dot is in the bottom right side you'll want to move it In the opposite direction first then put the pin in either hole and move the analog back to center. Whichever hole clicks usually makes the dot move its location
@@Layhss I think I’ve figured it out, got the joysticks to work now, however my controller is turning off and on now, guess it’s time for the controller to take an alcohol bath :)
Xbox I don't have but I'm pretty sure they're not good for Xbox because the left trigger and analog magnet go against each other where it activates the trigger

@Layhss I have the v3 joysticks and I'm finding it difficult calibrating them. When I move the stick to the opposite side then insert a pin into the hole it blocks me from moving the stick to the center. I then have to remove the pin or pull it out a bit before it lets me move the stick to the center. When you put pin in the hole do you need to push it while moving the stick or do you just insert the pin without pushing? I haven't really had any issues with the v3 so far. I just need to reduce the sensitivity a bit because the the hall effect sticks seem more sensitive than the stock film resistor type. I have 2 controllers. One controller I replaced both joysticks with v3 hall effect joysticks and the second controller I'm only going to replace my left joystick since it's the joystick that gets the stick drift on (for moving my character). The right stick is for aiming and it's already centered and I don't normally get stick drift on my right.
try spinning your v3 fast in a circle if it's the ps5 ones, because they were recalled as me and others found they couldn't create circles in fast movements and overall had issues moving. If it stops you from moving to center you should be able to move it back as that is where it would click moving the position. You are supposed to put the pin in after you move it into the opposite direction and with the pin in move the analog back to center and keep going until it is centered
I spun my (PS5) sticks as fast as I could and I don't notice any problem. I ordered a pack of 10 from "VaalPaev Official Store" on November 22. The tiny circuit board is red and says L-8K. On the metal frame of the joystick it says GINFULL. I was messing with a spare HE joystick while reading your reply and I feel the small micro click it makes while adjusting like you mentioned.@@Layhss

My right stick is working fine horizontally but vertically it is inverted. That happened after I tried recalibrating it after experiencing stick drift. Also do you know how to reduce the error % on circularity test?
check under the orange housing to see if the magnet is flipped upside down, there is no way to reduce circularity except software which to my knowledge is not available yet for ds, but is for ps4, then calibration boards. Moin hab das denke ich relativ vernünftig hinbekommen aber wenn ich den controller starten oder aufladen will blinkt der 3 mal orange und geht aus weißt du woran das liegt?
Faulty battery or something is damaged or has been removed from the motherboard such as a capacitor, had this issue once before it was from a missing capacitor, we use the online calibration method now. How did you install and remove the analogs?
By installing these Hall effect joysticks, do we run with the risk to experience drift again in the feature? Cuz I’ve heard these eliminates the problem cuz they’re sensors whereas the stocks ones which are potentiometers and have physical friction.
There will be drift with the stick or once the spring start wearing out, also depends on the centering. If the sensor is installed right and there are not short and the voltage regular is fine. (Then the pots will last alot longer) Then since magnets makes no contact with the hall sensor there will be no drift from the "pots". Like ordinary Alps sticks. I've played with a manual calibration for over a year and every week or two. I open the controller just to recenter if it's higher than .00400 on any axis. I like to play with as close to zero. Withought the yun boards. I've installed a lot. Like I said pots will last a long time. The sticks on the other hand. But buying in bulk helps.
When you go left, does it go right? Or up it goes down? If so you need to open up the side housing of which direction it is going opposite. It's like when you're cleaning the potentiometer of a regular analog the same thing you pull down to clean is what you need pull down. You then have to flip the magnet from the up positioning to down and close it

Since then, it's like I've reversed the direction of the analogs, when I move down, the analog goes up, and when I move up, there's a slight down movement. Do you have any idea how to solve this?
With a calibration board but it doesn't affect gamelan so I don't bother spending the money and time on boards, it's all preference but i know in the near future we'll get fixed version as we did with the v3

I don't know what i did wrong bu my stick almost stay at 0, but my when i wanna move them thy almost not moving as well o.O anyone got any solution for that?
Circulariry doesn't affect anything it's more of just a statistic, it's just how perfect you can draw a circle, the Analog in game can go further than its maximum input so everything reads as it regularly would

Hi, I ordered orange hall effect joysticks for dualsense, can i add the v1.5 drift fix pcb to the joysticks to calibrate them easily? The v1.5 drift fix pcb's are so cheap, 5€ for 10 pcb's, I hope they're compatible with hall effect joysticks 😅 Another question: if the first question is yes, they're compatible, in the ps5, will gamepad have the same calibration/sensibility as on pc? Because im wondering to start fixing dualsense for people and im worried bout the calibration cause i dont have ps5 to test the calibration there
I don't know if Drift fix kits are compatible + those will make the process to be honest this method i have is the way they gave us from the factory so it's easier this way. If they were compatible any calibration done is on the board it isn't platform based, the Drift fix board kind of defeats the purpose though as you're already using hall effect sticks
If you're doing it for other people calibration is done on PC but I always test in game afterwards on the ps5, people might question if you're a ps5 controller business and don't own a ps5 to test 😅
@@Layhss okey, i have a friend of mine that it has a ps5 to test them, the question for fixing dualsenses its cause here they didint have somebody to repair them 🤣
They're available for all platforms, but I'm pretty sure they're not good for Xbox because the magnets interfere with the triggers and they activate each other, they're only good with digital or clicky triggers but these are not tests these are from friends and some knowledge I am recalling on from reading up on
the ps5 and pro controllers share the same values, taking a singular potentiometer from one or another might not work, but I know for sure if you bough switch pro analogs or ps5 analogs they'd work on either controllers
they work on console, phsyical calibration keeps it that way, only something like temporary software calibration may not work but even the online software one has the option for permanent

Yep 👍 they're hall effect, new revisions keep being made improvements on small flaws like jittering too, but the basis of your question yes they never need to be replaced
I have a question. Because I noticed that the Hall analogues have a drawback - when you move the stick in diagonals, there is a strong deflection outside the circular zone. And I have a question. Is it felt somehow? Does the console register movements outside the zones with such analog deflections?
The thing to keep in mind here as far as circularity is that once the controller is reassembled it will correct the diagonals due to the plastic shell preventing stick deflection all the way into the corners, so circularity while disassembled isn't an accurate representation of what you're going to see once everything is back together.
i haven't had the sticks on me for a while but from what i remember circularity on screen is the same, but it still doesn't affect any gameplay as far as I know it is just a a stat since games allow inputs beyond the ring @@nyxpdx5813
However, with the stick replaced and only physically adjusted centering by myself in this way, I think an FPS gamer would experience some drift to the right or left after 3 days of use. And usually, sony has their own adjustment features input into the board to prevent that slight drift from occurring. Just keep in mind that doing this kind of replacement on your own will not make sense for FPS gamers. This is my experience.
What analog stick were you using where you were experiencing Drift? Wouldn't be the orange ones I know the k silver blue ones have the issue but definitely not the orange ones, jittering is just small minute movements even with v1 and v2 of the orange Drift isn't apparent
@@Layhssdid you play fps games using highest stick sensitivity? if not, maybe this could be a reason drift is not as obvious with normal sensitivity settings in game. just my theory, i dont have these modules so i can not test them myself.
Question, does stick height matter for PS controllers? I replaced my sticks with genuine alps from mouser and they sit lower. So far it has been an issue in only 1 game.

I think i may have damaged 2 contact points (pads) where i will probably haveto find another contact point and bridge over
Currently testing the pcb for continuity but its a little harder without schematics or knowing what to look for exactly.. hope i dont butcher the job as im just trying it out. Maybe shouldve done it on a regular dualsense remote first not the edge.
Bro why the two points are moving while u dont move the analogs is this aside effect of hall analogs
Its falls under very negligible minute deadzone & hence doesn't get registered as input ingame.
Halleffect sensors have no practical downside to it.
Why the circularity is not full after putting back to its case?
Its an issue with the analog, doesn't affect gameplay though so I don't really worry about it 😅
stock controllers don't have 100% circularity, I think that is very overblown

It's easier to understand through the video as I explain I can't really type it out, visuals are easier

You are supposed to put the pin in after you move it into the opposite direction and with the pin in move the analog back to center and keep going until it is centered
you have to reduce sensitivity as the analog hits 100 percent before actually reaching it physically, reason why it goes beyond its edge
I will mess with the in-game sensitivity and see how it feels. I'm not disappointed by my purchase as it will last much longer than the stock potentiometers, I'll just have to spend more time using them to get used to them.@@Layhss

Can you do XBOX video? It's hard when I do it. I could not insert a pin into them when the controller's top and bottom part must be combined to power it on during calibration.
Also, aren't you supposed to calibrate with the shell on?
Xbox should be the same way, ps5 you can't calibrate with the shell on you won't be able to reach the analogs pin holes. I don't own an Xbox, sorry
Hi, i imstalled a lot of them but now i have a customer with 2 controllers wich i replaced all sticks. But he experiences slow movement. In Gamepad tester all seems fine. Do you have any clue what causes it?

My right stick is working fine horizontally but vertically it is inverted. That happened after I tried recalibrating it after experiencing stick drift. Also do you know how to reduce the error % on circularity test?
check under the orange housing to see if the magnet is flipped upside down, there is no way to reduce circularity except software which to my knowledge is not available yet for ds, but is for ps4, then calibration boards. Circularity is not much of an issue though doesn't affect much & once the shell is on it gets reduced from the square to a circle from the many I have installed for both v3 & V2
@@Layhss first of all thank you very much for answering! There is a possibility I flipped the magnet by trying to recalibrate it just like in your video? Damn I’ll be more prudent next time then. Any of the updated links are no jitter, stores don't sell these older versions anymore, there are some newer ones which might have replaced the ones in the same link but the calibration is the same and it should also be no jitter. I was also even told newer ones can be calibrated through software too, but any of the links below you can order from and will be fine. Faulty battery or something is damaged or has been removed from the motherboard such as a capacitor, had this issue once before it was from a missing capacitor, we use the online calibration method now. How did you install and remove the analogs?
Thanks for the video.. do they need to recalibrate after a while or it's once and for all?
Shouldn't have to, just one time
nope.just one time, unless you bring magnets nearby for a long time.
By installing these Hall effect joysticks, do we run with the risk to experience drift again in the feature? Cuz I’ve heard these eliminates the problem cuz they’re sensors whereas the stocks ones which are potentiometers and have physical friction.
There's no drift with the ginful ones only the k silver has them but that's just an issue overall with them
There will be drift with the stick or once the spring start wearing out, also depends on the centering.
Do u mod the controllers from scratch without buying tools
There are kits online to mod controllers sold by extremerate and other companies, i solder them in or just install them into controllers for people
The circularity of mine has a part that allows me to move quickly and it doesn't go all the way, did this calibration also improve the circularity???

if its the blue hall effect analogs they have drift issues, calibration is also really odd with them
hi i need help ive somehow made it so that the sticks don't output much when shifting it in each direction
When calibrating it doesn't move anymore? You might need to flip the magnet
@@Layhss how to do this?
When you go left, does it go right? Or up it goes down? If so you need to open up the side housing of which direction it is going opposite. It's like when you're cleaning the potentiometer of a regular analog the same thing you pull down to clean is what you need pull down. You then have to flip the magnet from the up positioning to down and close it
I'll try and make a video on it as soon as possible I ran out of analogs so I need to wait on my new order

They allowed movement outside of the zone yes so it isn't affecting gameplay
The thing to keep in mind here as far as circularity is that once the controller is reassembled it will correct the diagonals due to the plastic shell preventing stick deflection all the way into the corners, so circularity while disassembled isn't an accurate representation of what you're going to see once everything is back together.
i haven't had the sticks on me for a while but from what i remember circularity on screen is the same, but it still doesn't affect any gameplay as far as I know it is just a a stat since games allow inputs beyond the ring

However, with the stick replaced and only physically adjusted centering by myself in this way, I think an FPS gamer would experience some drift to the right or left after 3 days of use.
And usually, sony has their own adjustment features input into the board to prevent that slight drift from occurring.

just my theory, i dont have these modules so i can not test them myself.
@@BrickTamlandOfficial you would notice drift with these modules trust me, there isn't any only the blue ksilvers have drifiting issues
How you do this on PS4?
Same process just use the ps4 analogs, and you use either pin holes it's just installed backwards

Question, does stick height matter for PS controllers? I replaced my sticks with genuine alps from mouser and they sit lower. So far it has been an issue in only 1 game.
yes if it is affecting gameplay you need a taller module
With circularity that bad might as well just stay with Alps for now... Not even dualshock calibration software calibrate these properly
You really don't feel the difference despite the circularity, also keep in mind the circularity usually goes down after the shell is put back together
Like the video. Well done.
Thanks, I could've explained it better now that I know more on how it works, but it's still kind of hard for newer people so I tried my best 😅
@@Layhss please make a new video then, if you have some time. Would love to know more in detail on which hole to use, when.
@@wayne6326 its any whole, if you can't hear a click in one hole then use the other one, but you should be using all 4 throughout the entire process
