YOu can get a more accurate center by using a combination of the GUI and manual calibration. Check the circularity first, and nudge the sticks manually, opposit to where it over shoots. Curtainly can get better results, and often accuracy in the sub 5% range. I do this for all my installs.
@ think of each axis is a pendulum, if it’s not perfectly center then one side is going to reach 100% sooner. So when you digitally calibrate the circularity, you get hot spots outside the circle in the corners.
Hello, just got my new aim controller Hall effect, it came with built in drift and the video that aim did well it didn’t help but your video just helped me fix and recenter the stick. Thank you!
Great video! I just installed Hall Effect modules in my ps5 controller. Sadly, the right one is stuck at 100% left no matter what I do. The board isn’t shorted so I think the modules I bought might be bad.
I have a different scenario with a DualShock 3 controller - the left stick has some drift. Skipping past everything I had done prior...I ended up desoldering both stick assemblies and swapped them, soldering the OG left into the right position and OG right into the left position. Plugged it in and found that Gamepad tester showed the left side stick was STILL drifting the same direction. I then moved the thump sticks back to their original location- and the left side then continued to drift. I gave up on the controller at that point.
I just added the Hall effect to my ps5 controllers and I calibrated thru the hardware calibration site. Issue is, when I go to change my sensitivity and dead zone on in game settings it gets knocked out of calibration. But when I put it back to default settings it goes back to normal. Do you have an answer to why?
If you calibrate your DS5 through the calibration site it only "save" your calibration setting into your device and make it as your default without overwriting the original profile. That is why when you change sensitivity in game setting, it will read back your original factory calibration setting. The only way to fix this is to use method 1 mentioned in the video. Manually calibrate the potentiometer.
if i calibrate a controller on my PC, will the calibration be saved to my controller? So if i use the controller on a ps5 afterwards, will the stick drift be gone, or is it only saved on my pc? (I hope you understand the question :D)
So I bought a controller from AimControllers and the issue I'm having is the circularity range of both of my sticks don't reach or go outside of the circle in some spots. Notably the top left corner of the left stick. It causes an issue in BO6 for example where I can't sprint in the 10-11 o'clock position. I can walk, but not sprint. I've tried using the Dualshock calibration tool from this vid so many times but can't seem to get the range to reach or exceed the circle. I don't know what to do at this point besides try to send the controller back, but I'm really trying to avoid that.
Will this work with the duelsense edge controller(am talking about the software). Is this calibration only for PC only? Will it work for consoles(Ps5/Ps5 pro)
I sent my controller off to one of those ebayers that fit Hall effect modules, but when it was returned the drift wasn’t fixed. I’m wondering if it just wasn’t calibrated properly
I just replaced the originals with these on 2 of my ps5 controller. Everything is fine besides one controller, its centred and doesnt drift. However the axis is inverted. When i go up. The joystick moves down. And when i move down it goes up. Left and right are fine. Has anyone else had these issues ?
So would it make a difference manually calibrating or calibrating via software? Or should we try to get it as center as possible with the pin then use the software?
For me, I would center as much as possible with the pin first. I think range of motion is affected if you don't get it close to start with After that fine tune in software
Installed new Hall Effect joysticks on my DualSense this morning, and even post-calibration, can only get around 10% error on Circularity. Was hoping for better.
I just switched to hall effect sticks, and I didn't manually calibrate them before using the site, now they don't go to 100 even at some of the axis. I thought I would just open up the controller again, but i can't, right? because how can I know where to move the stick when I used software to centre it. Any help would be appreciated:)
Does this work at all with DualShock 3s? Do the hall effect analog sticks work with DS3s? I know you can use DS4 sticks in the DS3 and the first editions of DS3 used half effect sticks. This would solve a muli year long headache.
Everything is ready to go. I'm going to replace the faulty analog joystick with the Hall Effect joystick. I'll try the colobration out tomorrow. Would you recommend changing both sticks? Only one is faulty, but im worried I am going to get stick drift with the other one over time. I've not done soldering for a long time so I'm slightly nervous, but I refuse to buy a third controller.
@@GearsAndTech my dualsense case is different, it does not drift like your case (where the normal position is slightly off from the 0,0 axis), my dualsense has a very sensitive sensor now, whenever I touch (I didn't even need pressure!) the analog, it will go straight to left end at -1 and it will stays there until I touch it again slightly to the right, do you think this is hardware issue? bcs I have tried calibrating the range also the center and the problem still happening

@GearsAndTech I did that but I didn't know what I had to do because it has a gear with a magnet Do I have to hold the gear while moving the joystick? Thanks
When I follow the instructions with my aim controller and open up the gamepad tester website when I plug in my controller it never goes to the point where I have minimal movement on that stick like what I’ve seen on these calibration videos. When I plug in and let go of the stick to start the process the on screen image moves however far I move the stick 🤦🏻♂️
That part of the process is just to make sure the snap back zero point is a good average of all 4 angles. Some sticks don't center straight, so this tries to compensate for that You should expect to see it move all the way while moving it. But the zero point is all its taking when you press The next button.

Hello! I have an issue where my hall effect stick is just too perfect I guess? Circularity gives me an error rate of 3% but because of that it stays perfectly inside the circle which means I can never reach full speed when I run in games. Any idea how I could fix this? Calibrate stick range does nothing.
That's a interesting problem to have In game you can set your dead zone inside and outside. It should trigger full stick lock at a lower range. For example if you set it to 80% as soon as you move the stick past 80% it will see it as 100%
It didn't reach the full diagonal corner right? I mean for example, with both sticks up left, up right, bottom left, bottom right. So what i'm trying to tell you is all you have to do is get a feeling on how the site calibrates your sticks it can take some time but when your sticks can't reach the corners that's how you can go past them so. You have to do the movements with your sticks i recommend do first one then the other because you don't want to reach the corners fully just almost you have to be very precise i hope you get what i mean so again slow, precise circular movements just before the edge. I hope i could help you when you stil need that i mean i came 3 months late and normally i don't really write comment's but i was going trough this so i can feel the pain.
