  • One of the latest designs for utility knives incorporate a folding screwdriver opposite the folding blade exchanger. This is design is particularly useful for trade workers, as it incorporates two of the most commonly used tools into one tool. Milwaukee was the first to come out with this particular design, and other manufacturers followed suit on this very popular knife option. Today we will be looking at the Lenox version, the LX250.

    I like the fact that you can't take the blade out when in the fully open position. I like to be able to choke up on it while doing more detailed work without worrying about the blade disengaging on me. Great reviews! Thank you.

    That is great for someone who carries a utility knife and needs a little more. For me I like having a 6in1 in my belt pouch along with the other tools I EDC at work

    Lock out is a major selling point to me with the 1505. I'm happy to see any company trying to innovate on this design, though.

    What I like about the design of the Lenox over the Milwaukee is the liner lock is commonly used on a lot of modern day pocket folding knives, making it more familiar to use and also that it comes with 2 standard quarter inch bits, which could be switched out to any 2 I want to carry in it. Thanks for the review!

    Thanks. I didn’t read the instructions either. I almost sent it back. I am happy so far with it. I’m going to use it to make nice cuts for my vertical blind valance.

    I just got one of these and it’s solid. With a little extra hand strength you can single hand open and close it. I like how no matter how hard I reef on it there’s no way it will close accidentally. The clip is nice and long, I stretched it a bit so it slips in my pocket easy. I like how the blade is indexed to the left so it’s easy to see the cut. There’s also small ridges on the blade support top, sides, and bottom for very delicate work without risking a finger slipping down onto the edge. The blue cover is metal and has a solid latch so you’re sure it’s not going to open when dropped off a ladder. There’s a hidden feature when the screw driver is out, the space between its base and the blade cover can open a bottle. The one thing I would change is to get rid of that sharp edge that pokes out just above the blade. That catches on stuff when rustling around in a tool bag and could potentially expose the blade. There is no reason why it should be there I’m going to grind it off when I get the chance. I am EDCing this knife, and while it’s a little chunky, it sure beats having to also carry around a small screwdriver or deal with a giant Fastback.

    Been using one for maybe 6 months from Lowes. Irwin is the FK250 if you like it in Blue and Gray, grabbed a few extra on sale at Menards and have not seen them in person since. I tossed the Robertson bit and swapped it for one more common for me.

    Just a FYI, I found the exact same thing at Lowes for $16.25 including tax on their website. You had to special order to a store near you. Just picked it up. Looks Identical

    I am pretty sure the Lenox has been out for longer than the fastback 6 in 1. I have had mine for more than a year now.

    I like how the blade is locked when in the open position. Is there a lot of play in the blade? All of these quick change folding knives have horrendous blade movement

    • @txtoolcrib
      @txtoolcrib  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is one thing I forgot to point out on this one. The blade play is virtually nonexistent on this model. I’m not entirely sure how they accomplish that, but it is very tight.

    Since I carry a folder, the Milwaukee is my choice because it’s lighter. The one handed open is also a positive point in my choice.

  • @MadLadsAnonymous

    This is identical to my Irwin except for the paint job. At this point, I think the new Milwaukee 6-in-1 fastback is a better tool: lighter and has bottle opener :)

    I've seen plenty of Knipex Cobra copies, but never a copy of the plier wrench like you showed in the vid. Not once. If such a thing does exist, I'd appreciate a link.

    This knife isn’t new I think Milwaukee copy Lenox I have mine over 2 years and I recently try to buy a spare one just in case I lost mine but they stop selling them at Lowe’s I already, go to 4 different stores and they only carry the ones with bottle opener. i bought a fasback and used everyday for 2 weeks and Im already having problems with it , in my opinion the Lenox is more durable and more well design the only thing I like about the Milwaukee one is the screw driver is longer.

      Someone else informed me. I hadn’t known the Lenox version was released first. I’m going to pin a correction. Thank you for letting me know.
