  • LENOX Utility Knife Multi Tool Has HIDDEN Features But... we show the #verycoolgang some issues with this utility knife and the built in multi tool it comes with. We picked up this Lenox blade from Lowe's Home Improvements at a sale price and it comes with the Lenox gold utility knife blades included! With such a good price for the multi tool utility knife we couldn't pass it up and so we bought it to review for the gang. Let us know your thoughts on this multi tool utility knife and Lenox tools in the comments section below.

One of my EDC. I've had quite a few these. I only use the Lenox Gold, easily 3X life. As a residential plumber this is my go to. Great for reaming pvc pipe or cutting drywall. After running it for the past few years, one handed deployment and stowing is a snap. Not too big on the multi tool functionality but has opened a few brews for sure. Thanks as always Vince and @VCG Construction. 👍

So glad I watched this video. I took this tool apart to try and get the blade off. Cause I just bought it and didn’t read the 45 degree position to take off the blade. Big thanks!!

I've been using this knife for 2+ years now. It's the only folding utility knife I havent breaken yet. The others didnt last a week. The blade lock feature is for keeping the blade from pulling out. I have broken many blades but they dont slip out causing me to cut myself like the other ones I had did. I actually bought another one of these just incase they stopped making it. I highly recommend it for being durable and lasting. The Lennox gold blades cut much better and tend not to break like the cheaper blades.

Lol "let's drink some tea". Yea after using my fastback the lockback one would get tossed to the side. I really don't like the angle of that screwdriver end. Lockback coming loose yikes. Smashed that 👍

The 45 is so you don't lose your blade when cutting things like drywall

    • @landscapearchitect09

Exactly. When apply pressure, the blade will sometimes come out of a fastback. Ugh, this is routine for the Toughbuilt. YMMV since I am a bit more slender and not bloated from an Opiate based diet. Squill like a pig, Sausage fingers!! Speaking of the fastback, did he provide the same critical comments about the fastback’s wire cutter?
I bought this knife but returned it the same day because the blade wouldn’t come out after the locking mechanism loosened. The Lowe’s employee who sees me in there multiple times a week and saw me purchase the knife the same day as I returned it, forced me to take a store credit. By the way, I have an emailed receipt but they could find it they said. After I gave him my drivers license to scan it I went to tools, got a new knife, went to check out and use the card, but when you know it. The card wouldn’t work and the same. Damn employees told me I had to call the number on the back. The number on the back instructed me to provide the unsecured email. I hate Lowe’s, especially the managers at 0616!

The 45degree position to get the blade out is actually a pretty good feature. I loved my fastback but the blade would fall out all the time when cutting with it by accidentally pressing the release button. The Lennox blade will not come out while using it even if the blade release it pressed because of the 45 degree feature

  • @seanbrotherton542
    @seanbrotherton542 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The 45 degree angle is a trick. When you throw it away it's now a boomerang and comes back.

  • @MrJoncovert

I used the Lenox gold blades exclusively for about a year straight. Since I bought this exact knife except mine is the original colors white and blue so it matched the other Lenox tools. Before they changed the rubber to black.
They honestly don’t last any longer than “normal” blades like Stanley(my previous and back to current blade choice).
If anything they dull faster because they are much sharper with a more shallow blade angle.
The only cool thing about them is the multi notch feature. It allows you to change how much blade protrusion you use if you’re not using the classic sliding blade style.
    Edit: to add more.
I currently use whatever blade is on hand because they all cut lol. But I do use my Milwaukee rapid release folding knife religiously. It’s unbeatable, especially when you only have one free hand. Just pop it out and press the button.

I've used a Craftsman folding utility knife for over ten years and have never had a problem with it. I think the blade locking mechanism is top notch, I have never had a blade come out while cutting, never had a blade stick in the knife. It's a lock-back, but I can open and close it one handed...it has a thumb stud for opening and the lock-back button can be easily pushed with my ring finger. I also like the handle of it too...it's aluminum with an aggressive texture that never slips in the hand. After seeing this review, it's confirmed that I will be keeping my old beat up Craftsman. I will have to try some Lenox blades though...I usually use Stanley's heavy duty blades.
