I feel like with final physicalized damage models, that bridge is going to be a priority target. It just doesn’t look very heavily armored. Quick way to disable it.
It’ll definitely be very interesting to see how they handle the new physicalized damage models! Supposedly the glass panels they use on these ships are even stronger than the hulls, so I’d be curious how it all pans out 🤔
Like with real life battleships, I would imagine a ship of this size would incorporate some sort of “battle bridge”, where a control room that’s housed deep within the most heavily armored parts of the ship can still be utilized if the main bridge is destroyed.

This will be our combat divisions base of operation ship - however, one thing I might add is training ground, the idris offers unique rooms such as the firing range and simulation room. Thus making the idris a perfect place to train up new recruits without risking their life!

i have an IDRIS with a K upgrade it will mostly server for the medical fleet defense even tho we don't have plenty of people we can still rely on other fighter to defend the fleet in case
That is one seriously impressive medical ship that should serve you and your Org very well! actually it won't be use for medical purpose and our orga is cut in multiple sections , logistic , medical , rescue , scientific and escorte and we have like one primary job ( which for me is escorte reason why i have many combat ship) and we can help the rest of the section if there no urgent requirement for me to help the fleet
Great video! My AEGIS Idris K "CSMS Beskar" will have to fullfil several of these roles (Probably just because it can :D) but the main focus will be the medical gameplay. Of course it will also be used to patrol the areas; and it might even end up as base. At least it will be *my* base^^ And I think, until I have a reliable crew to man the ship, I will probably doing some "Taxi-Missions", getting people's ships from A to B - because they do not have enough fuel-reach, or because they have to move sevarl ships at once. Or just a lot of people, like a shuttle or holiday cruiser ^^ Just a small opportunity to fly around and gather experiences with the ship, while not getting bankrupted due to expensive fuel :D

I believe you that most large military ships are hard to categorize and find out-of -the-box uses for them, but I think you do it very well and find very interesting ways to use them. I think right now, the only real multi-purpose very large ships we have are the BMM , Polaris and Idris (maybe Javelin?). Maybe I'm wrong but I think those ships were built from the ground up with utility in mind. Cheers!

Very large crew requirements and maintenance and fuel costs will be very expensive. Even when we get NPC crews to work for us on our ships it will be very expensive to hire the crews.
It will absolutely need a crew. Anyone who sees this sitting alone will take it or destroy it 100%. This is a large crew ship. Not even remotely a solo ship.
I believe the 'minimum' according to cig is 8. This usually refers to the crew needed to man the gun. (E.g. vanguards are a min of 2, but only really need 1).
Technically every ship can be piloted by a single captain, although it’s definitely not ideal, with the Idris or other capitals! With these, a larger crew is recommended, in order to capitalize their capabilities and to run its various systems and engineering! For the Idris, it has a minimum crew requirement of 8 and a max crew of 28, but that can be offset with NPC crew in game! It’s such a beast of a ship, but comes with a hefty price tag to match! Thankfully it’ll be earn-able in game at some point, making it a really great objective for a group (or enterprising individual) to work towards!

It really is a fun ship to shoot haha; I just love those explosions! Although once they properly balance it’s in game performance (it’s currently heavily nerf’d), I suspect the ship will be much more formidable! @@ViciDeum I hate the Idris and the Javalin with a healthy passion, I don't ever want to own either.. Specially for the Idris though, I find it to militaristic, dumb and a ship designed for SQ42.. Its to brash and showofish for my style. I don't see a point in the ship other than for giant fleets to do fleet battles 🤷♂️ I would rather sneak round the edge and steel the prize from under there noses or use covert ops and make a laughing stock of them 🤷♂️.. 😂 I just sounded like a twat to myself.. 😂 Unfortunately that's my style 🤷♂️.. Quality over quantity.. The idris is all quantity.. That big gun is not scary.. 🤷♂️ I mean the big gun could be scary, but only as a sneaky player. The Idris is no sneak though.. Its a large loud training ground show boat 🛥 💪 (probably full of youngsters) As far is it goes, your use cases are pretty spot on 👌 If I ever get an Idris which undoubtedly will happen 🤦♂️ it will be of the stolen variety, from someone who though they could pilot it solo 😉.. Though it will likely just be parked up in some cold corner of space unused for the most part, psychological warfare I can see as being its best use case for me personally..

Typically, after a ship is finished, it’ll first release to players who pledged with cash, and then be available the next patch for an in game purchase! I already know what to do with my idris: work my way to upgrade it to an M, then go to the Vanduul front and kick some alien ass
