This is the ship that makes me SUPER hyped for physicalized damage. Can't wait for that thick armor to actually be important... also to fire those Size 7 bespoke cannons into a ship's shield emitters and watch the panic.
this ship is special for me for some reason, i think its the fact that it looks like the strongest pound for pound ship, like its an actual capital destroyer but its smaller than a hammerhead, its a big ship but it feels like its size is justified, when i look at say, the bengal, yeah the rational part of my brain knows it carries many ships and has many guns, but a part of me thinks, this ship is undergunned for how large it is, i look at the hangars and flat surfaces and think ''man you could stick extra cannons there'', then theres ships like the 890, huge but most of it is empty space, compare that to the perseus, smallest of the big ships, absolutely punching avobe its weight wich is already high, if the ares is suposed to be a fighter that punches at subcapital weight, the perseus is a subcapital ship that punches at capital weight and i love that, i also love how its structured like a cap ship but you only need like 4 people, so it really has that feeling of me and the boys, facing down an idris with 50 plus people in it and actually standing a chance, aswell as personally, imo having the best look of any big ship, the polaris comes close, but its far to thin at the front and wide at the back it sorta looks like it coud snap in half, this one however looks like a blade, it feels like it could actually ram trough a hammerhead, and considering its forward facing firepower it might aswell be able to, also theres something i love about a big ship functioning like a fighter in a way, the pilot having control of forward facing guns but at a huge scale, i like the idea of coordinating with a crew sure, but theres something so atractive about manning the bridge like its a cockpit and shut pointing and shooting huge guns at huge ships
I was considering the Polaris quite a bit until this ship appeared. I wanted the Perseus badly for many of the same reasons you outlined, but I wasn't certain when I would be able to acquire one as it isn't inexpensive. As it turns out, I was unbelievably lucky and won a Perseus during a Star Citizen TH-camr's giveaway drawing. It will remain a proud part of my fleet forever!
I melted 1/2 my fleet, all small to medium ships to CCU up from a C8X Pisces W/LTI . It is the only true military ship in my fleet at this time and had to get the Thundercloud paint as well. The Thundercloud paint on the Perseus, reminds me of The U.S. Navy battleship USS Alabama, circa December 1942 with her Measure 12 (modified) camouflage scheme. I figure the price will only go up, so worse case, I can either CCU or melt again, but will wait and see how this spectacular ship turns out. I also hope it does not get bigger, just gets another point defence turret and larger cargo bay.
You've inspired me to get this someday. Planning to CCU from an A2 after the Perseus is flyable, I love the idea of a tough old ship holding it's own against Vanduul Destroyers.
What I like about the Perseus, heavy armor, heavy ballistic cannons W/interchangeable ammo, best looking ship in the verse, can be run very efficiently with 4 crew and last but not least, its 100m length makes it versatile enough to land at any station or hanger that a Carrack can and that's about all of them. I especially like that it is very straightforward and simple ... see target, destroy target, pick through debris. Little known fact. The lore states that the original Perseus and the one that fought the Vanduul, were never manufactured with shields. Only Capitol ships at that time had them, because the technology was new to human kind and was to bulky to fit on anything smaller than a Cap. ship. The new versions not only have 2 L shields added, but also have a cargo bay.
I was able to get a Perseus for around $630 on the GM and I don't regret it. Perseus be a good ship for a lot of loops and with minimal manpower. A big plus is just how awesome looking a Perseus is it has that modern yet old style to it. I hope you're able to get one before it gets too expensive I can see Perseus being more than a $1000.00 bye the time it's released.
I had a BMM from years ago and when I heard of it getting a price hike before last IAE I hoped and prayed it would go to just below the Perseus in price. I lucked out and immediately got the CCU during the sale. I felt so ecstatic about it that I decided to make a mistake and pick up a CCU for a Polaris while I was at it. I couldn't decide which to have so I said screw it I'll get both. I'm a long ways off from finishing that Polaris CCU, but that's the beauty of it.
Great video, maybe the rear guns are specifically for taking out missiles heading for the heat of the engines and tailing ships, not a bad idea as it frees up all the other guns for the main battle.
Holding onto mine rather than upgrading, such a cool and awesome ship and so happy that I could snag one! The perfect destroyer for a fleet right next to other ships in terms of fleet work but an absolute force to be reckoned with even solo.
So it went from Gunship to Frigate in the Website So will it be bigger then we thought? If it does i am going to bei really happy for having it be Part of my Hanger.

I mean... Perseus + 2 Redeemers manned for the same crew as a single Polaris... Perseus plus Redeemer or two is a pretty scary fleet for any engagement.
A bunch of concept ships are actually growing and will actually be quite a decent bit bigger than originally planned. I'm pretty sure that includes this ship, but it definitely includes the Banu Merchantman which I know you love :). I assume this also means that the usual price bump ships get on release will be stronger than usual.
As an owner of a perseus I wonder how they will handle the perseus though it's in a weird spot where, let's say if we give it better anti fighters it diminishes the only real weakness of the ship. Or if they give it more weapons or Armour it begins to tread on the toes of the idris and polaris. And yet it's current price of $675 is reaching a bit far for what it currently has.
Honestly, considering how the ship is expected to be crewed with up to 6 people I think they will want to buff the guns since now it makes more sense to have 4 people in Ares and two in light fighters to help the ares' low manouverability.
I find myself wondering a LOT about the BMM in a military or at least defensive capacity. Between its signature and the fact that you have to drop a beacon to show where you are for the Mall and such, its not exactly a ship that can hide. The Banu Defender is NOT a superiority fighter in spite of its price. I just don't see how it defends itself. A Perseus or Polaris solo seems like it would make short work of a BMM. The crew requirement is huge for it too. I just don't know. I bought a CCU for my BMM for an Orion or a Liberator. I will be buying one to a Perseus when the BMM gets a little more expensive. I just don't think the BMM is gonna end up being for me

Great Video! I picked up the Perseus last year during the War bond concept sale for $500 plus it came with a camo paint job I couldn't resist when I saw that, it reminded me of a modern battleship. Like you I'm very excited to see this ship in the verse.

I have a Polaris and am trying to figure out what I ccu my last big ship chain to and I am leaning towards this. I think the Polaris will pair nicely especially after it got a pds system
@ PIN : Your are so right. That ship is imho design perfection. It`s big but not overly huge, it looks sleek, it doesnt have an overblown crew requirement and it packs big guns + the interior layout from the brochure looks just right. I agree it is somewhat sharklike while also having some elements of stealth ships of today. I am hoping for alot of options for all those ammo types it might get. Maybe it gets some Flak rounds as well. Ah..I realy hope i will be able to get a Perseus as well at some point. At the moment im saving up for a PC that runs the game alot better. After that Perseus in in my crosshairs. I`m imaginig a Perseus and a Liberator and some Fighters patroling Pyro. This could be done with 5 to 8 people. Now that is reasonable. Not like 20 + for a Kraken or Idris (awesome ships though) And considering your comment about running away bravely. This could very well work for that ship , getting clear shots for that lower turret at anything giving chase. Unless CIG messes this ship up alot , it will be brilliant.
I picked mine up at invictus. If you don’t get one before it comes out as flight ready all you have to do is say. More then happy to let you review it and fly it as much as you’re heart desires.

I got mine when it was released in 2020. My Starting Fleet has been rounded out this year MISC Prospector Anvil Crucible Hercules Starlifter M2 MISC Oddessry Anvil Liberator RSI Perseus
I feel like this ship and a Liberator will be an excellent core for an org. The Perseus suffers from lack of anti-fighter armament, but with the fighter support from the Liberator it has good matchups against lots of different enemies. Plus, between the two you have pretty decent cargo space for doing something other than killing people.
I love the look of a Ocean ship it has with the large turrets. I hope a bigger (like Idris sized vessel, as nothing should beat the Javalin this far into development) comes out, with more turrets. Gib Space Battleship
Picked up this ship at the iae event, It was the first time using the ccu chains and managed to get the Perseus for $485.Can't wait for it to be released!
After watching the video and thinking about the comment/concern about the ship being split or separated via cargo bay; It seems all the heavy munitions are bared at the front. In the case of the torpedos detonating or the bamf turret's munitions causing catastrophic damage - actually protects the ship more than poses a weakness. Depending on the firewall and sturdiness of the interior bulkheads and how well the ship is compartmentalized, I suspect the Perseus to be capable of being physically split in half (from the cargo bay) and still potentially save the majority of it's crew AND limp away whilst still maintaining 33-50% of it's firepower (though the slow speed hampers this) it could potentially survive a catastrophic event and QT out which is insane. Once physicalized damage and components makes its way in with true armor mechanics, the survivability rate of the Perseus is absolutely bonkers.
i got this ship this iae, my only concern is it will be comicly weak to fighters & bombers, I know it is suppose to be but that back size 3 turret ain't doing anything, and 1 s3 turret wont do much to deter a bomber or heavy fighter. got a ccu to a polaris just in case, but that's only if the perseus ends up being bad. it definitely looks way better than the rest of the rsi ships, and most of the other brands as well
i was in love with the Perseus the moment i saw her and it was an instant buy last year at IAE. The Plan is to utilise her as a patrolcraft in combination with the Hammerhead and/or various fighters like the F7M and Arrow to secure the area for miningops with the Orion or protecting my Endeavor Hope in warlike situations

When I saw the leaks of this last year, I said I had to have one, it is single handedly the most expensive thing I ever bought, I have no regrets, it is so beautiful

I got this ship to take the fight directly to the Vanduul. I’m less interested in attacking other orgs or grieving players. This is an elegant and menacing ship. It does need a small fighter escort. Pair with a Hammerhead, and OMG scary.
@@gabrielhearn2274 I think Scorpi will fit in a liberator. I plan on putting a few arrows and gladiators on and in it depending on the mission. Looking forward to the Scorpy. A Perseus with air cover is super dangerous.
id like it if maybe they swapped the armor for more speed, this ship is small enough that if it were nimble for its size it could be very good against bigger ships, but as it stands now it just works like a capital ship, slow, good armor, good damage, but its not taking advantage of its small size to be a hard target, i mean if it were just a bit nimbler you could dodje idris railgun shots, then the matchup with the idris would be easy
The perseus will be fun for 3 or more people, basically the redeemers big brother. But as good as the size 7s will be, we've already seen how people reacted to the ares ion, i would not expect the perseus to be any different. This will not be a ship for 1 shotting fighters, it will be for taking down large ships, and so to that end i think many will be disappointed. It will be a formidable ship, but without even a hangar, will be extremely limited in its use. This is an attack ship for special targets, or area denial, besides that it won't see much action as in i don't really see it as a daily driver
I would is this in fleet formation to protect my carriers from bombers linked with hammerhead for anti fighter work . Add the Polaris for distant scanning and fighter refuelling giving my strike far more reach .
A dual size 7 is worth a size 10 hardpoint. Which means, the Perseus has roughly the same (dedicated) anti-capital firepower of an Idris. Not counting the Idris’s size 5’s which are multi purpose. Not bad for a sub-corvette gunboat.
92M/S is just the SCM speed not top speed. Get a CCU from the carrack melt one of your existing ships... Then 24 hours later melt your CCU. Locks your pice in... Then buy your melted ship back... Locks in the price incase it goes up... Can always forget about your melted CCU if you change your mind, You dont need to own the CCU ship.. Just click the circle for more options.
Got the Merchantman, witch will stay as is. so next ship in the line i could do a upgrade run on is my redeemer .. BUT i want to keep that one to. But damn she is a beauty that Perseus, old and rugged .. Effektive withe 3 crew. Edit: Got to think about the merchantman tho, Might just upgrade to that for a militia stocked merchantman? Remember something about it can be modulated for war should the need arise. Any how, the Merchantman will rise to twice as mutch in price, i upgrade and leave it there.. Finnish the upgrade when the ship price rise and upgrade to let's say a Perseus.
Yea I am guessing everyone watching this video is in love with this ship lol including me 😁 I nearly pulled the trigger on this ship myself but Xmas 🎄 was too close and I have a large family.
I CCU'd to this last year, and I absolutely adore it. It looks mean and it has a nice low crew requirement. Also, as someone who does like the idea of trading and convoying, the Perseus is a ship that gives me nighmares. It's the perfect raider ship that can just show up, blast away some of the bigger support vessels that might be escorting the convoy and leave things wide open to any following fighters, and then just hang there as a threat to keep the trade ships in line. We'll have to wait and see how fast it is, but even if it's relatively slow, it's going to be a tough ship. The only real counter you have is to have a Perseus (or something bigger) of your own, or hope that you can isolate it for torpedo/bomber swarms.
I melted all my fighters and some med. ships to finally CCU from a LTI C8X Pisces to the mighty Perseus, never thinking about the dinky Self-Land hangar the C8X comes with ... lol. Now I have a Caterpillar and a Taurus to pay for the fuel and ammo to raid the Vanduul, when the time comes. If you think about it, you will need long range ships once Pyro and other systems are introduced.
I got a CCU Chain im my hangar towards it. I didn’t apply it just yet. Neither the Polaris nor Hammerhead or the Polaris is a combat Ship of this size I wanna truly own. Im actually waiting for an alien ship (tevarin) or Crusader Ship this size fitted out for combat. If I dont get my dream ship Im gonna stick with Perseus or Polaris. I will decide which one Im gonna get once they are both flight ready.
Got one of these at concept, but had to melt it to rejiggle my fleet. Got it back this year through upgrades in my Scoundrel Pack and couldn't be happier. There's just something ❤ about the Perseus. Did you manage to pick one up in the end, PIN?
Got a merchant man update to this bad boy for i think 10 dollars. I'm probably going to get it. Once the merchant man gets finished, it will be too large for me and too expensive to upgrade to something smaller. I managed to get the merchant man for 400 dollars for an uppgrade like this once the value went up, and now is probably the time.
I ended up melting a couple ships to get the funds to buy this one. I did upgrade another so I now have lifetime insurance on this ship. I had a hard time deciding between this ship and the Polaris considering the Polaris is much larger, has more weapons and is only $75 more. Ultimately, I choose this ship just due to the how few people it takes to crew.
I bought this ship when it came out but then i upgrade it to polaris when it was limited ship but when i had change i bought persius back whit LTI! i love both ships!

CCU's are a fun way to acquire your dream ship, although it takes some careful planning. For me i would rather buy the ship/melt and drag out of BB later. How do you plan on crewing the Perseus, just curious?

As an owner of a perseus I wonder how they will handle the perseus though it's in a weird spot where, let's say if we give it better anti fighters it diminishes the only real weakness of the ship. Or if they give it more weapons or Armour it begins to tread on the toes of the idris and polaris. And yet it's current price of $675 is reaching a bit far for what it currently has.
Honestly, considering how the ship is expected to be crewed with up to 6 people I think they will want to buff the guns since now it makes more sense to have 4 people in Ares and two in light fighters to help the ares' low manouverability.
Maybe in future that won't make as much sense with better implementations of EMPs etc.
I find myself wondering a LOT about the BMM in a military or at least defensive capacity. Between its signature and the fact that you have to drop a beacon to show where you are for the Mall and such, its not exactly a ship that can hide. The Banu Defender is NOT a superiority fighter in spite of its price. I just don't see how it defends itself. A Perseus or Polaris solo seems like it would make short work of a BMM.
The crew requirement is huge for it too. I just don't know. I bought a CCU for my BMM for an Orion or a Liberator. I will be buying one to a Perseus when the BMM gets a little more expensive. I just don't think the BMM is gonna end up being for me

Great Video! I picked up the Perseus last year during the War bond concept sale for $500 plus it came with a camo paint job I couldn't resist when I saw that, it reminded me of a modern battleship. Like you I'm very excited to see this ship in the verse.

I have a Polaris and am trying to figure out what I ccu my last big ship chain to and I am leaning towards this. I think the Polaris will pair nicely especially after it got a pds system
@ PIN : Your are so right. That ship is imho design perfection. It`s big but not overly huge, it looks sleek, it doesnt have an overblown crew requirement and it packs big guns + the interior layout from the brochure looks just right. I agree it is somewhat sharklike while also having some elements of stealth ships of today.
I am hoping for alot of options for all those ammo types it might get. Maybe it gets some Flak rounds as well.
Ah..I realy hope i will be able to get a Perseus as well at some point. At the moment im saving up for a PC that runs the game alot better. After that Perseus in in my crosshairs.
I`m imaginig a Perseus and a Liberator and some Fighters patroling Pyro. This could be done with 5 to 8 people. Now that is reasonable. Not like 20 + for a Kraken or Idris (awesome ships though)
And considering your comment about running away bravely. This could very well work for that ship , getting clear shots for that lower turret at anything giving chase.
Unless CIG messes this ship up alot , it will be brilliant.

I picked mine up at invictus. If you don’t get one before it comes out as flight ready all you have to do is say. More then happy to let you review it and fly it as much as you’re heart desires.

I feel like this ship and a Liberator will be an excellent core for an org. The Perseus suffers from lack of anti-fighter armament, but with the fighter support from the Liberator it has good matchups against lots of different enemies. Plus, between the two you have pretty decent cargo space for doing something other than killing people.
They would make a excellent pairing.
Hammerhead and Perseus is also a good combo

Picked up this ship at the iae event, It was the first time using the ccu chains and managed to get the Perseus for $485.Can't wait for it to be released!
After watching the video and thinking about the comment/concern about the ship being split or separated via cargo bay; It seems all the heavy munitions are bared at the front. In the case of the torpedos detonating or the bamf turret's munitions causing catastrophic damage - actually protects the ship more than poses a weakness. Depending on the firewall and sturdiness of the interior bulkheads and how well the ship is compartmentalized, I suspect the Perseus to be capable of being physically split in half (from the cargo bay) and still potentially save the majority of it's crew AND limp away whilst still maintaining 33-50% of it's firepower (though the slow speed hampers this) it could potentially survive a catastrophic event and QT out which is insane. Once physicalized damage and components makes its way in with true armor mechanics, the survivability rate of the Perseus is absolutely bonkers.
i got this ship this iae, my only concern is it will be comicly weak to fighters & bombers, I know it is suppose to be but that back size 3 turret ain't doing anything, and 1 s3 turret wont do much to deter a bomber or heavy fighter. got a ccu to a polaris just in case, but that's only if the perseus ends up being bad. it definitely looks way better than the rest of the rsi ships, and most of the other brands as well
i was in love with the Perseus the moment i saw her and it was an instant buy last year at IAE. The Plan is to utilise her as a patrolcraft in combination with the Hammerhead and/or various fighters like the F7M and Arrow to secure the area for miningops with the Orion or protecting my Endeavor Hope in warlike situations
I have it since it was introduced. 2*2 size 7 ... Plus torpedos ... and only 5 Crew needed...with this mean looking...it was a must have for me

When I saw the leaks of this last year, I said I had to have one, it is single handedly the most expensive thing I ever bought, I have no regrets, it is so beautiful
I purchased this during IAE, honestly to me in realistic gameplay terms, i'm hoping this can be manned with 3 people as a bigger version of a redeemer. I also feel like there is more focus on RSI at the moment so potentially it comes out sooner than expected, who knows.
Upgraded to it, but later I have a pendling upgrade to an Odyssey on it. A bit to niche for me I think.
I got this ship to take the fight directly to the Vanduul. I’m less interested in attacking other orgs or grieving players. This is an elegant and menacing ship. It does need a small fighter escort. Pair with a Hammerhead, and OMG scary.
Pair with two scorpius fighters. RSI military takes force.
@@gabrielhearn2274 I think Scorpi will fit in a liberator. I plan on putting a few arrows and gladiators on and in it depending on the mission. Looking forward to the Scorpy. A Perseus with air cover is super dangerous.

I bought it day one of release on Warbond. I can't wait for it to release. It's everything I've ever wanted in a "Bigger" ship.
i dont really have it because its currently in my ccu chain to the polaris. but the more infos i get about it the more i wanna stay on the perseus
id like it if maybe they swapped the armor for more speed, this ship is small enough that if it were nimble for its size it could be very good against bigger ships, but as it stands now it just works like a capital ship, slow, good armor, good damage, but its not taking advantage of its small size to be a hard target, i mean if it were just a bit nimbler you could dodje idris railgun shots, then the matchup with the idris would be easy
The perseus will be fun for 3 or more people, basically the redeemers big brother. But as good as the size 7s will be, we've already seen how people reacted to the ares ion, i would not expect the perseus to be any different. This will not be a ship for 1 shotting fighters, it will be for taking down large ships, and so to that end i think many will be disappointed. It will be a formidable ship, but without even a hangar, will be extremely limited in its use. This is an attack ship for special targets, or area denial, besides that it won't see much action as in i don't really see it as a daily driver

I would is this in fleet formation to protect my carriers from bombers linked with hammerhead for anti fighter work .
Add the Polaris for distant scanning and fighter refuelling giving my strike far more reach .

A dual size 7 is worth a size 10 hardpoint. Which means, the Perseus has roughly the same (dedicated) anti-capital firepower of an Idris. Not counting the Idris’s size 5’s which are multi purpose. Not bad for a sub-corvette gunboat.

Take the TV back. Also go get a CCU Seed to the Persues. Carrack expedition w/ c8x to Perseus for $30
92M/S is just the SCM speed not top speed. Get a CCU from the carrack melt one of your existing ships... Then 24 hours later melt your CCU. Locks your pice in... Then buy your melted ship back... Locks in the price incase it goes up... Can always forget about your melted CCU if you change your mind, You dont need to own the CCU ship.. Just click the circle for more options.
Got the Merchantman, witch will stay as is. so next ship in the line i could do a upgrade run on is my redeemer .. BUT i want to keep that one to. But damn she is a beauty that Perseus, old and rugged .. Effektive withe 3 crew.
Edit: Got to think about the merchantman tho, Might just upgrade to that for a militia stocked merchantman? Remember something about it can be modulated for war should the need arise.
Any how, the Merchantman will rise to twice as mutch in price, i upgrade and leave it there.. Finnish the upgrade when the ship price rise and upgrade to let's say a Perseus.

I CCU'd to this last year, and I absolutely adore it. It looks mean and it has a nice low crew requirement. Also, as someone who does like the idea of trading and convoying, the Perseus is a ship that gives me nighmares. It's the perfect raider ship that can just show up, blast away some of the bigger support vessels that might be escorting the convoy and leave things wide open to any following fighters, and then just hang there as a threat to keep the trade ships in line. We'll have to wait and see how fast it is, but even if it's relatively slow, it's going to be a tough ship. The only real counter you have is to have a Perseus (or something bigger) of your own, or hope that you can isolate it for torpedo/bomber swarms.
I melted all my fighters and some med. ships to finally CCU from a LTI C8X Pisces to the mighty Perseus, never thinking about the dinky Self-Land hangar the C8X comes with ... lol. Now I have a Caterpillar and a Taurus to pay for the fuel and ammo to raid the Vanduul, when the time comes. If you think about it, you will need long range ships once Pyro and other systems are introduced.
Logistics will be a huge consideration in the future

I got a CCU Chain im my hangar towards it. I didn’t apply it just yet. Neither the Polaris nor Hammerhead or the Polaris is a combat Ship of this size I wanna truly own. Im actually waiting for an alien ship (tevarin) or Crusader Ship this size fitted out for combat. If I dont get my dream ship Im gonna stick with Perseus or Polaris. I will decide which one Im gonna get once they are both flight ready.
i wish it had about 2 more small turrets with say 2 size 3 guns feels like it doesn't have enough coverage against fighters.
Got one of these at concept, but had to melt it to rejiggle my fleet. Got it back this year through upgrades in my Scoundrel Pack and couldn't be happier. There's just something ❤ about the Perseus.

Got a merchant man update to this bad boy for i think 10 dollars. I'm probably going to get it. Once the merchant man gets finished, it will be too large for me and too expensive to upgrade to something smaller. I managed to get the merchant man for 400 dollars for an uppgrade like this once the value went up, and now is probably the time.

I ended up melting a couple ships to get the funds to buy this one. I did upgrade another so I now have lifetime insurance on this ship. I had a hard time deciding between this ship and the Polaris considering the Polaris is much larger, has more weapons and is only $75 more. Ultimately, I choose this ship just due to the how few people it takes to crew.

CCU's are a fun way to acquire your dream ship, although it takes some careful planning. For me i would rather buy the ship/melt and drag out of BB later. How do you plan on crewing the Perseus, just curious?

I have a small org of friends I play with. So they will operate it with me. Though, in the future if we do fleet operations I may have to hire AI if we don’t expand our org
