    Not only is she a prodigy, but her playing brings calmness and peace to the spirit. Here is music at its essence and of the upmost purity ... Yes, the strains of angels in praise of their Creator. Thank you, Alicia. Your gift, and your humble sharing of it, is a blessing to the world.

    When a child shows such proficiency in any particular field, it means that they've spent many lifetimes in that field. Such touch and feel is not learned overnight.
    Bravo Alisa.

    The young have a natural ability to learn and retain, and that, combined with the innate manual dexterity provided by quick reflexes, results in extraordinary expressions such as this young lady demonstrates. Music should be taught for a greater part of the class day and at the earliest possible age.
    I think if all children attended mandatory music classes there would be far less violence in the world.

    • @angelkotilainen
      @angelkotilainen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Not all children are inspired to music. Let the ones that want to, do. But absolutely not mandatory. Imagine a sports mad, or other interests, non-musical, tone deaf boy or girl being forced into music classes, not going to happen!

    • @youtoo2072
      @youtoo2072 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I see Lara's point, But the sports have been Forced far too long and indeed there's negativity and yes aggression by its commitment to competitiveness so much so of a vicious cycle . Tone deaf persons are frequently gifted by other defaulted musical options.. its not simply all or nothing in Any Thing in life in nature ! Music or Arts or education are internal exercise just as that of sports or dancing are external expression .. Can Do anything with them at any level ..and that means Both ARE VITAL TO CHILDHOOD and Music being Internal IS More Accessed EARLIER And COMFORTING AND IMAGINATIVE AND MOTIVATIONAL !!! FOR BOTH INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP !! Most people with good ear or rhythm or vocality or lyrical were influenced by a comforting close relative from earliest memories !(MANY BECOME SUBSTANTIAL MUSICIANS)// while this is as well how all aspects of our lives develop and priorities form, music flexibly Remains throughout life!( indeed is as well mutually Universally innately understood )//=Thus Reason of Reality should be w Positivity Given to toddlers onward ..Good Bless!

    Another supernaturally gifted child! WOW! It seems there have been so many "unusually gifted" children appearing all over the world in the past fifty to seventy years! There may well have been many others prior to 1940, but evidently, their gifts were not so quickly acknowledged or well known as they are in todays fast-paced world. Congratulations, Darling little girl.

    • @Fan_Made_Videos
      @Fan_Made_Videos 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +Lindy Loo She's amazing, but I think the perception of there being "more" gifted children is due in part to the Internet and humanity's ability to know about other parts of the world and its people in less than a keystroke entry into Google.

      Many of those old prodigy's were women. And every man knows that women can't play instruments. Besides, women couldn't get any recognition no matter how good they might be. I didn't know they made nice dresses for children as small as that one. Maybe she should wait 10 or 25 years to grow up and fill it up and out.
      And if you think my above comment is serious, you have no sense of humor

      Im a butthead because i said something you cannot prove incorrect? God as NOTHING to do with skill in any form. Its blood and sweat to be achieved, giving god credit for something he has nothing to do with, shows your inabillity to think correctly, not mine, since this here is not a case of opinion, rather fact. I can prove that skill is a direct consequence of hard work. can you prove that god is resposible for her skill? Or any existing skill that is? Valuewise, you insulted yourself and are to ingorant to ever grasp it. World in a nutshell.

    This is one of the few things that makes one still have faith in this crazed world that does not know where it's going. See and hear the art, the music, the noblest pinnacle of human spirit, embodied in a 9 year old girl. I hear singing with the harp (2:28) to this heavenly creature and I cannot hold back the tears, because I cannot believe what I'm hearing, because I'm witnessing a miracle. Blessed are you, Alisa!

It's easy to forget that some parents aren't above making their child practice 8 hours or more a day in the name of prestige. Fortunately, this skill will stay with her her whole life, so I hope she comes to terms with it if she hasn't already.

      @thomas.edgerton 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Nosey Parker She is certainly gifted, but that is just part of the story. A gift is great but it is the hard work and practice you mix with a gift that makes someone truly the best. I know many students who are "gifted" in music, but they are content to rely on the gift and never improve and are passed up by someone who diligently practices within a few years.

      +Shannon Saturday There are no cd's of her. Last I read she cannot even afford her own harp. She uses whatever is available at her concerts. It is so sad when one sees a few thousand views for Alissa and then you see millions for the pop junk performers. It's the way it is though. Let me add that Alissa is around 12 now and of course no longer needs the extensions on the foot pedals which watching here is quite incredible for someone so young. There are several other videos on the web showing her wonderful talent.

    This is a tough call for parents. The 'X Box' generation so easily seduced with sexy games and graphics and 'Oh my child is sooo good with computers'. ( Because we spent 40+ years making them easy for kids to use ).
    Do you wait for the kid to express an interest as in the 'let them grow freely and as they choose' or do you insist they at least spend some time to explore an instrument with a good and motivating teacher?
    I see amazing kids like this and feel Ive let my own sons down.

      My parents let me do what I wanted for my childhood, and I took up piano in my early teens. I've been playing for 3 years now and I always wish my parents had brought me to piano earlier because no matter how much I practice I don't come near my friends who have been doing it since they were 6 or 7. I think that while certainly a lot of the success in playing the instrument comes from the child, there is a responsibility that the parents have to introduce their children to it in the first place. I think that the casual parenting of today has made parents apprehensive to teach their children disciplined passtimes and forms of art because they don't love the practice at the time, but in reality most people i know who have learned as children are thankful to have learned later.

    • @3klongplays.273

      This is a kind of dual cutting blade. Musical geniuses like Ravel and Liszt are not born, they are made. Crafted with blood and sweat liturally.
      letting your child choose freely what to engange and what not, means on the other hand that the kid is free for fall, considering the overall status and the uncapped amount of ignorance.
      If you point into a direction, with a strict goal, and your sons do it not only for fun, but to achieve, they will.

      Philip Jones From personal experience, you can't force it, but you also can't just let your kids give up. I love music, and on my own time I've learned the piano, guitar, and take vocal lessons. When I was young, my mother had me take violin lessons. When I didn't take to it, she thought I was being lazy/stubborn/some other excuse. I still hate violin, and because of the stress of being forced, I don't recall a single lesson. Now, I'm in my 30s, and all I had technology-wise was a computer in the 90s, but my niece has grown up with a call phone and tablet and what have you, and while she is very smart, she's very lazy by comparison. She takes interest in a thing and drops it in a week. While I understand my sister letting her choose her own hobbies, I also feel she's being too lax because of what we went through with our music lessons. Child prodigies often suffer socially due to strict lessons and schedules. But the success yields rewards later in life.
