- Lesson 4: Minnesota Body Language
"More often than not, what brings the stranger to his knees around here is waving. It looks like a simple act, but it's almost as complicated as spoken Minnesotan.
The wave is a greeting ... delivered from a distance ... when one or both people are in some sort of motorized vehicle ... travelling in opposite directions."
Ya know, when I moved from Minnesota to Boston, I learned they also have a single finger wave that's a bit different than what ya see in Minnesota.
A guy watching this video could almost smile if he weren't carful
Note the car radio tuned to the farm report.
As a New Jerseyite, I thought I had mastered the Single Finger Wave. Turns Out, I've been waving the wrong finger.
Gothamauto 😂
"And you won't ever have to leave again, unless you want to" lmao
I'm very familiar with the single finger wave) Mostly use it when when an oncoming car on a narrow road slows down and pull out to the side to let you pass more smoothly. single finger up, 'thanks', sometimes 2 fingers up if in a good mood. any more fingers up would be too over-exited. wish from Norway
100% true.
This is gold
the two-finger wave is an Iowan staple
Cant complain really
Bobby F yup, could be worse
You could complain but it wouldn't do much good anyway..
lmao it's so true!
