      Wet Grinder is better compared to mixer grinder, for preparing batter.
      Incase of heating up if batter add one icecube while grinding it brings down the temperature.

    What is the difference between the ratio of rice & daal 2:1 & 4:1 ? Bcoz some take ratio 3:1 or 4:1. Why to grind rice first & then daal ?

    • @Homemade_food_by_deepthi
      @Homemade_food_by_deepthi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Komal, you are right many people have different preferences of ratio. In my recipe ratio is 1:2 or 2:1.
      For 2 cups of rice 1 cup urad dal.
      REMEMBER, rice and dal can never be same in quantity, it won't make good dosa or idli.
      Rice should be more compared to dal. So, dal should be exactly half of the quantity of rice.
      AND, WHY TO GRIND RICE FIRST?
      Rice takes more time compared to dal for grinding, that's why it is always better to grind rice first to avoid any obstacles in grinding.
      Hope it's clear, TYSM for watching my video...🙂

      @Homemade_food_by_deepthi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sumit thanks for watching my video, no it is not possible to grind the batter in a machine in that way.
      Basically the rice and dal are to be crushed under the stones.
      Taking out the batter from the grinder or cleaning is not a tough task, it can be done easily once you master it.
      I can give you breif Information if necessary.
      Hope i was helpful...

      Hello Sumit, Soon after grinding the batter give a thorough wash with plain water and then add jus a drop of liquid detergent and little water and give a pulse in the mixer grinder, it will be very easily cleaned.
      The reason for depositon will be because of the uncleaned places which will be dried up, try in the way I have mentioned it will be useful enough.

    Hi , Can you solve my one query that whenever I grind urad dal in wet grinder it does not make pluffy so much as your. I have tried with urad chilka, white urad, and also urad gotta . I also add water little by little but even after 1 hr of grinding my dal doesnot make pluffy as I saw in your video. I am unable to findout the reason.
    Can you suggest me where i am lacking . Thanks

    • @Homemade_food_by_deepthi
      @Homemade_food_by_deepthi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, ensure dal is soaked enough(at least 4-5hrs/overnight) and while grinding the dal you need to add little water gradually.
      For example, while grinding 1/2tsp water every 5mins. Addition of water will make your batter fluffy and dal should be plumped(soaked well).

    Hi can we use normal rice instead of parboiled rice?

    • @Homemade_food_by_deepthi
      @Homemade_food_by_deepthi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Compared to white rice, parboiled rice has fewer calories, fewer carbohydrates, more fiber, and more protein. This makes it a healthier alternative to traditional white rice.
      You can give it a try by making in smaller quantities.

      Water should be never added in higher quantities in the initial stage itself, it will not help the rice or dal to crush properly, add water gradually and what kind of masala u are asking about?

    Thats a horribly thick batter madam......

    • @Homemade_food_by_deepthi
      @Homemade_food_by_deepthi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello VoodooSunny, it is important that the batter has to be thick, it can be later on adjusted by adding water before making dosas or islis.
      If you would add the water in good amount during grinding itself, the batter will not ferment properly.
      Simple steps, Grind the batter thick, ferment, Mix up and store.
      Add water accordingly just before maing idli or dosa's.
      Thanks for watching my video 🙂
