When I was a nursing assistant, I would mix 100% zinc with A&D ointment for patients that had really bad skin breakdown after being in the hospital on a ton of antibiotics. I swear, it worked like a miracle. I would see it begin to clear up by the end of my shift and it would usually be gone in under a week. I’m talking like the entire back side of these poor people looking like it was a giant blister that popped and just the raw, red skin underneath was left. It looked so painful. Silver sulfadiazine was amazing too. Took the sting out instantly.
I use cicalfate from Avene. I even bought one for my nephew’s eczema and it worked like magic. My sister-in-law tried everything under the sun but nothing came close to cicalfate.

My mom used to do that for my elbows when I was a kid. I had really bad eczema back then, so I would sleep with zinc cream on my elbows and put socks with the toes cut off over it to keep it from transferring and staining everything around me.
I used to do this..using diaper rash cream, so not only onto the butt but also to any other part of my baby skin whenever she get irritated/red skin even to any scar. It works wonder. It helps the skin heal faster, without feeling irritating/less itchy. Years after she grow up i still apply it to her & to my own skin.😅 Love love diaper rash cream!😊
I watched a video of hers yesterday where she said use zinc ointment on your lips. All I could think of is diaper rash cream lol. Nice to see i was right. Grabbing it from the diaper bag right now! 😅
I used your Butt Paste cream a couple of nights ago on my right cheek. It just dried my skin out, I didn't see any change in color or texture! I've had Rosacea since 1987!
My kids used to get really bad irritated skin around the mouth especially in the winter. I used to put butt paste on their face every night. They were good as new in the morning. Love it.
My mom and I use Desitin max strength at night ….. my dad is a chemical scientist/engineer … who told us to use it ! Great on getting the red out and fasting healing of zits overnight too!
Thank you for validating something that I’ve started doing a year ago for my eczema flares. I couldn’t find anything soothing for my face except Calmoseptin on really bad days.. even the usual big name brands burn and sting. I can only start using them after the irritation and all the redness calms down.
I’ve been doing this per your recommendation and tbh my mom was preaching this way back but I thought she was just saying it as one of her home remedies (which i believe 50/50) I thought it was silly to use butt cream on ur face. But coming from a doctor I was more inclined to use it and it’s the only thing that’s been helping my dry/dehydrated/compromised barrier Ty so much ❤ , I have the exact same little water diffuser I’ll try using that with the glycerin like u reccomended next! (Cosrx snail serum and cosrx retinol just got in the mail yesterday) was using sailcreme when the 10 step kbeauty routine went viral but upkeep with that routine just got too expensive so I just slowly started not using it anymore. But I’m 26 and never had acne in my life and suddenly I been breaking out on my forehead and chin like crazy. The acne spots are kinda cute tho 😂❤
I am absting right now with A-Derma's ZnO & oat extract cream. I used Retinal last night all over my face so I am trying to vring down the inflammation that it caused. It's not bad. I do love using these thick creams. They make me look like a ghost. I have to apologize when I open the front door. Oh, well...😅
I've been doing face basting for four months now, it's really amazing, I have glowing skin in the morning. I'm using Desitin diaper rash cream with 13% zinc oxide. I love it!
Hi Dr! Nerd Question 🙋♀️🤓after face basting, at the next morning I still feel the zinc in my face …is it ok to use some micellar water and rinse everything off ? Should I keep it until use the cleanser at night?
Same!!! I recently stopped washing my face in the am and just use water; but after using the buttpaste, I feel like I need something more than just water to get the buttpaste off as it feels like significant residue on my skin
Exactly what @bornana comments! Dr Idriss says that you can apply only sunscreen if you are combo/oily and the sunscreen is moisturizing enough. Night, just cleanse and slap some moisturizer on damp skin. The same principle applies to hair: two braids (not too tight, obviously) with leave on conditioner or oil from mid to ends are a comfy and convenient protective style that doesn' t require daily maintenance and keeps everything nice and detangled. I know from first hand how unnataibale can be doing your skincare routine, washing your teeth, combing your hair or showering when depression hits hard. Hope it helps. My best wishes🧛🏻♀️🖤
I have some spray on things for when I’m too depressed to do a skincare routine. They make several spray on facial sunscreens; you could ask at Sephora. I’ve just found a spray on moisturizer from Laneige. I bought it on Amazon. It works decently well but isn’t very heavy so it’s suitable for daytime. On my worst days if I need to leave the house, I’ll just spray on the moisturizer and after it dries, spray on the sunscreen and I’m out the door having done the best I could for that day.
As a Bulgarian I grew up using zinc oxide cream for everything 😭 from backne to skin rash to acne scars. U name it we used it in our skin for it. Btw in Bulgaria we call it “krem zdrave “ we also use sudo krem❤
I know this is an old video but winter just finally hit New England hard. I could not wait to get home and frost my face with this shit. It feels so good. Instantly calms down any and all drama.
For natural hydration you need a multipeptide treatment. You need a multipeptide collagen and keratin treatment with growth factors. Skinlyte has a soap that is loaded not only with collagen but also keratin peptides. It is called Hair & Whole Body Bar. According to what I read on Amazon, it is fast absorbed because it has an enhanced peptide binding enhancement technology which produces water molecules in a condensation reaction that hydrates skin and hair naturally. It repairs, grows hair, naturally moisturizes, rebuilds and strengthens hair and skin. I got it at Amazon and I am impressed with new benefits I discover every time I use it. I noticed many improvements in my hair, skin and nails. What I like best about it is that it's all natural and without harmful chemicals such as synthetic dyes, fragrance, SLS or preservatives.
I been using a zinc paste for my pimples, scratches, wounds and burns since i can remember. We didnt have much money growing up, but this specific product was never missing in our home.
I'm 42 and I went ahead and tried this with same triple paste but, didn't do anything miraculous for skin barrier and slight inflammation/irritation I had. I prefer it for inside of thighs for sweat irritation. I get better results with topping off my skin with a non irritating oil at night to keep moisture in. Maybe I didn't have skinnirritsted enough🤷🏼♀️
I used to put straight up zinc creme onto my face as my skin care and damn, that worked for me🤣🤣 now i use it sometimes but got a better skincare routine
Does this cause your face to break put more? Because, after using Tret for like 2 weeks, my face has broken out so bad so I stopped using it. Now all my acne has scarred and caused MORE hyperpigmentation. I need help!!
Yess Thats so true! Ive been using zink cream like a mask for years and Even the day after microneedling! It’s just amazing on my skin at least! and I have sensitive skin by the way
Thank you I needed this! I was sent the L'Oréal revitalift laser retinol serum to test and wow she's potent! I've used retinol for ages and never had any reaction, used that last night and today and even tonight I've already broke out a bit above my lip and my face is peeling a bit when I touch it and feels burning, even though I applied vitamin c and sunscreen. Going to have to work that one into my routine gently. I'm going to use my tried and tested cleanse and polish tonight to cleanse take off some of that dead skin. For bed no retinol, I think it'll be either clarins multi nuit or Charlotte Tilbury multi miracle glow smeared on as thick as what this ladies doing lol 😂
I looooove how you pronounce La Roche Posay ❤ My skincare routine has changed thanks to you, and I'm feeling in love with my skin again. Thank you so much, doc. Love and hugs from Mérida Venezuela.
I ordered the butt paste cream a couple weeks ago after seeing another video she was in and it’s AMAZING. I will never use anything else ever again! It’s SO healing and literally notice a big difference with one use.
I used to constantly fight dryness and flaking when using tretinoin so much that I stopped for a while. I restarted recently using it every other night but this time I started face basting on my no tretinoin nights with this exact butt paste. I have not had any of the problems that I normally have with tretinoin this time. This triple paste is a skin barrier life saver.
Been doing this on my picked spots for years. As I am a picker and the only way for the pimples to heal was put that and sulfer on. I would tend to get barrier issues do to over picking so would use the diaper cream. She dubbed it as basting when it isn’t even her technique. It’s been in use for years.
I think it would fine as the zinc is actually beneficial for acne prevention. But I would try a small area of your face a few times to see how your skin tolerates x

My mom used to do that for my elbows when I was a kid. I had really bad eczema back then, so I would sleep with zinc cream on my elbows and put socks with the toes cut off over it to keep it from transferring and staining everything around me.
What a great mom!😊
My son doesn't have eczema, but crazy rough elbows. I will try on him
Finally 😂🎉
I was waiting for the "I am a 40 year old board certified dermatologist"
This was my first thought 😂 😂 😂
I used to do this..using diaper rash cream, so not only onto the butt but also to any other part of my baby skin whenever she get irritated/red skin even to any scar. It works wonder. It helps the skin heal faster, without feeling irritating/less itchy.
Years after she grow up i still apply it to her & to my own skin.😅 Love love diaper rash cream!😊
I also love the triple butt paste on eczema rashes. It is wonderful as an overnight cream and in the morning follow up with castor oil.
Love ❤️ love my castor oil
@@jessicacoates1611which one do you use and what does it do for your skin ? Ty 😊
I live in India I use boroline as lip basting it has zinc oxide and boric acid it makes your lips brand new the next morning after basting
Used Sudocrem on my face for years as a weekly slugging/exfoliating layer. Also on any irritation or blemishes.
Love it.
This is why I bought it! My 10 year old gets a horrific rash
My mom and I use Desitin max strength at night ….. my dad is a chemical scientist/engineer … who told us to use it ! Great on getting the red out and fasting healing of zits overnight too!
Boudreauxs butt paste has been my secret ingredient for years for many things. 😂 stuff is gold
Thank you for validating something that I’ve started doing a year ago for my eczema flares. I couldn’t find anything soothing for my face except Calmoseptin on really bad days.. even the usual big name brands burn and sting. I can only start using them after the irritation and all the redness calms down.
I learned this after having my kids , I forgot about it this winter but I def am happy for the reminder ! It helped a lot
That La Roche Possay ain’t no lie! It’s great! I’ll never buy anything else as long as they produce those products!
Best cream hands down!!! My daughter had the worst worst rashes I’ve seen in a kid and triple paste is the only thing that ever worked for her
You're 40 now?!
You must've recently had a birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUU!!
❤🎉❤
Seriously basting with Triple Paste as this reel came on. Thanks, Dr. Idriss ❤️
I use zinc oxide based diaper cream for deodorant. I put it on only 2x per week.
😮?
What?! Really? Which one?
THIS is why my zinc based SPF always makes my skin look so good?!? 🤯🤯🤯
I am absting right now with A-Derma's ZnO & oat extract cream. I used Retinal last night all over my face so I am trying to vring down the inflammation that it caused. It's not bad. I do love using these thick creams. They make me look like a ghost. I have to apologize when I open the front door. Oh, well...😅
Retinoids hit after 3-4 days since you applied. Keep on using the cream 😉
I love your confidence! Your videos are always informative but most of all i love how you mention your age and do not at all be conscious of it!
Our pediatrician called Triple Paste "Spackle for Babies" 🤣🤣🤣
Just bought off of Amazon will keep you posted! Stoked ❤
I just bought it too. ❤
Cicaplast is amazing. The serum transformed my skin in days
🎉HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY, Dr. Idriss! 🥳
I've been doing face basting for four months now, it's really amazing, I have glowing skin in the morning. I'm using Desitin diaper rash cream with 13% zinc oxide. I love it!
What % of zinc is enough to make a difference?
I have been using sudocrem for a few moths now, and the difference is ✨muah✨
Happy birthday our beloved dermatologist!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Hope had a wonderful birthday 😌☺️☺️☺️
Wash your face
This is why I love you doc. I was on pigmanorm and it messed up my skin barrier
Bought it, use it, LOVE it. Also, my go to for all my body needs, especially feet and hands too.
What's the name of it please?
Triple Paste. Got it on Amazon. White container with blue and orange label. 16oz tub.
That's the brand she showed in her video. Just love it! It's very thick, but will soften.
What’s ur skin type? Im wondering if its suitable for combo and acne prone skin
She’s the cutest thing out there! ❤😂 love her
Can you recommend some low effort minimal skincare for people who are are low energy or depressed
I’d say just cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen, those feel like the bare basics to me
@@bornana269sometimes if my sunscreen is super moisturizing i’ll be good with using just it and not need a moisturizer
@@bornana269super true
Sudocrem is a good one too!
I know this is an old video but winter just finally hit New England hard. I could not wait to get home and frost my face with this shit. It feels so good. Instantly calms down any and all drama.
Which is better, face basting or slugging?
I have been using this for everything since you mentioned it. Different brand because I'm from Australia. Face, feet and to prevent chub rub..
I've been using butt paste on my face since my days in wound care, works a charm
Which One 😭😭😭😅
Yes! Cicaplast Balm is the best!!!
I been using a zinc paste for my pimples, scratches, wounds and burns since i can remember. We didnt have much money growing up, but this specific product was never missing in our home.
Me watching this while having my face covered in Sudocrem, yes that’s our version of nappy rash cream 😅
Does it have to be that specific brand or can you use any diaper cream with zinc?
A big issue with others is fragrance
Also cod liver oil and talc in others is something to take note of
You can any diaper rash cream with Zinc oxide, but make sure they have jo fragrance or other irritant ingredients.
I wish u did online consultation for those not in NYC. I would love ur opinion on my skin 😢
I ordered the butt paste cream a couple weeks ago after seeing another video she was in and it’s AMAZING. I will never use anything else ever again! It’s SO healing and literally notice a big difference with one use.
how long do you leave yours on?
I’d also like to know how long I can’t seem to find that video
NICU RN here. We make that ourselves!! Lol. For baby butts! ❤
I onced went generous with my retinol just because I spilled it and still recovering from that trauma. That was september last year. God bless me!
You said zinc I thought butt paste. Yay! Concerns re: acne prone skin with this? Or a non-issue with a once in a while treatment?
I think it would fine as the zinc is actually beneficial for acne prevention. But I would try a small area of your face a few times to see how your skin tolerates x
I can't get over how gorgeous your skin is!! So flawless and pretty!❤
A thin mask of baby butt cream goes on my face in winter or when I feel dry and the next morning- glow up!!!
