After seeing how much the tyre flexes it really makes me appreciate how well made they are to deal with this for thousands of miles and not de-laminate. Thanks for going to the effort to show us the inside view. Much appreciated.

Glitches are probably the wheel and steel belts in the tire acting as a Faraday cage, impeding the RF. That view was a lot cooler than I was expecting! Thanks
It also glitched more when the tire was being deformed, so down, thus even more metal in the way. I'm actually amazed it even managed to link up, wonder if those tires have kevlar structure instead of steel? When looking that up I've only found about bike and offroad tires with kevlar belts tho.
@@182QKFTW Indeed, I've found something similar when looking around, car/truck tires with kevlar bands usually just use it as extra puncture reinforcement, but don't ditch the steel. I think I've seen that some drag radials don't have steel on them, but of course those aren't the tires he was using.
Imagine getting pulled after taking that turn a bit spirited, and trying to explain to the cop theres a camera in your tire lol. Once you show them the live feed on your phone as proof, the officer would either nerd out and think its really cool or be a dick about you doing that on the streets. If yiur lucks like mine, youd get the latter.
@@Racer57 maybe so but my battery was almost dead and I was loosing control of the GoPro for some reason, as soon as I regained control of the camera I rolled it and made sure I hit the corner hard enough to see something happen. I wanted to hit the corner with a more precise smoother entry and exit so we had a nice obvious comparison on the GoPro between going straight and being in the most stressful part of the turn the Apex, but I was outta time and I couldn't go faster at this location. If my camera had died which it did right after I finished the turn. it would have taken me another 2hrs to go back, remove the tire change all the batteries and come back again, and by that time it would have been dark and I would have to move it into another day. Those are all the things going through my head when we shoot this stuff.
@@nitrous36 good point but honestly I think I would have been ok. The cops in Chicago are actually really cool. Occasionally you get one person who's a dick, but not very often.
It's so amazing that tires last that long considering the stress they go through! You know what may even be more exciting to watch is a GoPro in a motorcycle tire while cornering from side to side and braking/accelerating.
It is hard to see these days a channel with the content so unique, everybody now days just trying to copy what other do hoping for the same success. Thanks man, great video.
Youve got it all wrong bro! Thats Chicago's version of a smooth road. Communist/Democrat cities wait until the roads return to dirt before repaving. They pack tar into potholes to help speed up the turning to gravel stage. Common practice is to put a rim shop near these areas. 40000 complaints later, they get the cheapest shit they can find to pave with and take approx 1 human generation to finish paving.
The glitching is probably cause the fact that the steel reinforcement in the tire is acting like a Faraday cage. The antennas in the GoPro and phone will have some polarization, so the combination of a weakened signal and polarization might well cause irregular drop outs. Great video. Thanks!
@@Mikey-ym6ok not all faraday cages are wire weaves with gaps so small you can't poke a finger through... and in a car, I've had a tyre that consistently wouldn't keep air in so eventually, at the edges, it was down to the wire. literal. wire. a brand. new. tyre. with wires in it. Totally agree
The amount of constant flexing tires go thru and not fatigue is amazing …. This is an extremely interesting exercise well worth the effort
Reminds you of just how impressive tires are, considering what they have to do. And the go-pro staying attached so well was impressive as well.
It actually makes more sense visually if you flip the video of the inside of the tyre upside down. Then the road surface is at the bottom.

@@Kalvinjj Interesting. I guess we need the actual tire make/model - I believe tires that have Kevlar, also have steal belts - I think
@@182QKFTW Indeed, I've found something similar when looking around, car/truck tires with kevlar bands usually just use it as extra puncture reinforcement, but don't ditch the steel.
I think I've seen that some drag radials don't have steel on them, but of course those aren't the tires he was using.
The amount of stress tires are taking here just proves how important a good quality rubber is for your car.

@@brien1254 But he could've done some slow speed corners first. I mean, we could almost see the sidewall flex front going straight.

USA: smooth road

Really

Thanks!
There are no wires in tires. Not anymore. And it would need a tight web of cable to block any signal.
@@Mikey-ym6ok Yes there are, they are in the bead for sturdiness
