I have to say, you are already better than 99% of tech reviewers. Yes, speakers and displays are substantial. I don't know why they sometimes forget to mention them.
I’m using iPad 2018 pro since 6 year I like don’t think about upgrading unless it doesn’t support new version of ios .. had the same issue regarding charging port so I replace the usb c port and running smooth ..
thanks for this review, i have a 2018 ipad pro 11" and considering the upgrade. I do use the the ipad for making music, so more ram and cpu is nice, plus the updated screen since i watch a lot of videos in bed.
Nice comparison…thanks! You know…for me: I’ve got the M1 11 inch iPad Pro (8GB ram, 256GB storage), the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. So, if I decided to upgrade to the 11 inch M4 iPad Pro, 8 GB RAM, 256GB storage, “New” Magic Keyboard and “New” Apple Pencil, my price would be (before any trade-in or sale of my M1): $1,427 😱. The main upgrades based on my use case for this device would be the OLED display and the keyboard cover. But, for $1,427? There’s no way I’m upgrading. But, that’s just me😊
Are you using an original folio case for the 2018 version? I've been looking for a folio replacement for the single camera and I'm wondering if the Ipad air cases fit the 2018 pro.
I also got USB-port issues on my 2018 iPad Pro. Mine only charges via USB-A to USB-C cable. Wonder if this is a common problem. Anyway, great video as i'm considering the upgrade to new ipad.
That’s interesting. That’s a negotiation issue from the sound of it where it communicates with the charger to set the charging level. The new base model can be had for $900 and the M2 version was recently on sale for $650 (without OLED, of course). Personally, I think both are great options. We have several M1 IPad Pro models in our house and each works flawlessly still.
I had a similar issue where my iPad could only charge with ports using USB C to USB C only, and required 32 volts or higher. You have to replace the charger and digitizer
I’m using the 2018 iPad Pro and it’s still rocking solid. Weight difference is minute and thinness makes no difference if you’re using a keyboard. Color comparison only makes a difference if you’re comparing side by side. Then again each to its own. Thinking hard whether to upgrade or not. I really love iPads and mine is so strong after 6 years of being very well utltised but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to fold anytime soon… It was never utilised for anything hardcore though. Only media consumption.. so for the M4, if it’s not used for anything crazy, then it’s really not much an upgrade for media consumption? Ie an overpowered TH-cam and Netflix machine, since 2018.
The microphones are much better now. I’ve listened to several comparisons and it’s honestly a pretty big upgrade. The older iPad models definitely sound like they’re on iPads and the new one is getting closer to sounding like you’re using a separate microphone.

Underrated Review and Presentation. Thanks man!

Mine has the similar charging issue. I know how to get it to work so it’s not terrible. I would upgrade but maybe to the M1
Yo please make a video on how to fix the controls on assassins creed brother hood pc on Xbox one controller

Yes they do fit! My 2018 Pro using a Mallard Green folio that is for the iPad Air.
Fyi, few months ago ordered original 2018 apple folio cover from walmart for under $20, think they had back stock

hello... if you want to pass your iPad to somebody, I'd be very very happy to have. I'd repair the charging system but I'm in Ghana...
Cool
