    You may recall, my 2021 Rubi 2Dr arrived a month ago. First upgrade was a RH4x4 Patriot Mid Width front aluminum bumper & recessed Warn 10S winch. This combo permits RV Tow from frame end mounted rings and this eliminates a low mounted setup, like RoadMaster’s solution. Then swapped the stock wheels & 33” BFG KO2’s for titanium 17x8.5 ICON Rebounds & a set of 35x12.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. The titanium & Billet Silver combo looks great and these tires do not hold onto pebbles as much as the KO2’s AT tread. The 4.5” offset -6 wheels give a slightly more aggressive stance without sticking out too far (maybe an inch). Decided against the bead lock wheel weight and mounting hassle after talking to local Jeep Club members who do not run them & regularly go down to 15 PSI. Selling the almost new OEM wheels and tires on CL paid for the wheels. Surprisingly, these new “hybrid” MT tires ride noticeably smoother and just as quiet as the original KO2’s. Maybe the wider rims have something to do with that. This Jeep is towed behind an RV & is not a daily driver, so looking forward to having them a long time. Will wait on adding a small lift to see if rubbing occurs. For now, I love the hunkered down “puppy with big paws” look. Have a feeling you’re gonna wonder why you didn’t go “bigger” sooner.

    So I got my Jeep last year (2019 Rubicon) and im thinking of going bigger. This really helped. It only has about 9k miles on it but I think imma do what you did and switch the stock tires for the 35s with no lift. And of course add side steps since my baby didn’t come with any🥴

    I just bought a 2 door Rubicon (2021) with a manual and love it. I’ve been watching all your videos and appreciate the content! Are you planning on the recommended molar 2 inch lift? I’ve heard good and bad about it. Look forward to seeing the follow up for the 35s.

      Congrats on the new Jeep dude! And I’m not sure. I go back and fourth between the Mopar lift or a full blown Metal Cloak 2.5” lift. Like you I’ve heard mixed reviews on the Mopar lift. If I get a bunch of rubbing, then the “quick slightly less expensive fix” would be to go with the Mopar lift. We’ll have to see.

    Very new to the offroad/lifting and planning to get a 2 door jeep in a few months. Since the tires adds a slight lift to the car, are other suspension mods needed as well since the geometry is getting changed from factory? Thanks for the video!

    • @drivenmad2089
      @drivenmad2089  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. you don’t have to add anything else. If you just add 35’s on stock suspension with a rubicon model you’re good. If you want to add larger tires than 35’s then more work will need to be done. I also made a updated video with my 392 wrangler as well if you want to check that out

    Do you have any snow in your area and did you consider Duratracs? I've been considering 315/70/17 Duratracs recently for my 2018 JLU recently. I never really liked my stock KO2's in the rain or snow and heard good things about the Duratracs.

    • @drivenmad2089
      @drivenmad2089  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t get snow where I am. But I’ve never had any issues with the KO2’s in rain. And I though about the first race briefly but they are louder on road and the sidewalls are not as tough from what I’ve seen/heard. They’re probably better in mud though

    I thought with adding 35s you would have to change your wheel as well. I didn’t think that the 35s would still fit on your original wheels. Good choice sticking with the ko2s like you my rubicon is my daily vehicle to and from work , and I try to go off road once a month with it, and the ko2s are a good tire, I have only 7000 miles on mine so I have loads of tire life left. Also Happy Thanksgiving

    • @drivenmad2089
      @drivenmad2089  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah technically they say you need a 8” width wheel but 7.5” will do the job. If I was to go full 35X12.5 then it probably wouldn’t be a good idea. Which is why I went for the 315 “35” so I wouldn’t then also have to drop $1,500-$2,000 on new wheels haha. I’m super happy with the KO2’s. Some people consider it a “boring” choice but it works great off-road and it’s great when you go on a 9 hour road trip. Happy thanks giving to you too 👍🏻

  • @xyrothryu
    @xyrothryu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well on 34.6's but don't get me wrong its the same size thats factory on my raptor and they work great, and by far the savings to go down .4 of an inch here in canada is $100 a tire

    • @drivenmad2089
      @drivenmad2089  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. If I had gone full 35x12.5 then a lot of places won’t mount the tire on the stock wheel because they call for a 8.5-9” width wheel and the stock is 7.5”.

    I know this is an old video but I’m thinking about doing the same thing on my 2018 Rubicon. Mine is a 2.0L with automatic transmission, the only thing I’m worried about is if it will mess up the shift points and maybe not go into 8th gear at all on the hwy. Any thoughts?

    • @drivenmad2089
      @drivenmad2089  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean being that they are heavier tires the vehicle will have to work a little harder but it will still go into 8th gear. Going up hills it might down shift more than it used to, maybe an extra gear or too but it won’t be anything super crazy. Just make sure to get a C-class load rating which will be much lighter than a E-class load rating.

    • @drivenmad2089
