How are you not outsourcing at your stage?
That was some Rick Rubin level sauce. When you’re in a rut as a creative - outsource your acts of creativity by helping others in their creative endeavors. ❤
Not gonna lie, this is probably my favorite topic you guys have talked about so far. I feel like almost every artist struggles with being a perfectionist to the point that we ignore the point of doing this to begin with. I didn't put out songs for years because it wasn't "right" and I would say my biggest regret in life is holding myself back and expecting perfection straight out of the gate. I noticed when I began to let things go, I grew more as an artist and a person overall. As with any line of work, sometimes things aren't gonna go the way you wanted them and that's okay. I started to feel like I owed it to my past self that thought this song was dope or this mix was nice to release it. It's a disservice to yourself to not let your art see the light of day, regardless of how good or bad it is. Ya'll got me feeling really retrospective right now and I appreciate feeling like I got people that feel the same way as I do. Keep doing ya'll thing 💯
This was hands down one of the most important episodes. I needed this SO MUCH 😭. Thank you 1000 times!
Important is the perfect word. Lol
I needed this therapy session like yesterday😂😤
@@streetsillustratedinc Facts!!😂😂😂
You guys’ transparency makes this one of THEE DOPEST episodes!
I’ve watched devvon stream while mixing. He was mixing for so long the chat was begging him to take a break. He laughed it off and kept dropping gems. Protect this man at all cost!
I swear this one of my favorite podcats. As an audio engineer y'all always come clutch with the topics and knowledge. Thank y'all for all that y'all do and contribute to the culture.
When I say I needed this, that is an understatement.
Episode had me emotional.
Y’all have single-handedly taught me so much in these last 6 months.
Keep doing what you’re doing 💪🏾
Feel the exact same but it’s gotten me invigorated 💯😤
That FL Studio Neil Degrasse thingy came out of nowhere, had me on the floor, the reaction on Devvons face 😆
Definitely needed that today I've been having such a difficult time finishing my projects and dealing with personal stuff, and between you guys and my grandad texting me to keep going i was almost over here bawling at work
Hands down one of the best episodes of the pod🔥
from everyone on this podcast, thank you for everything. Been having moments of weakness for a while now... trying to get back into work.
Love you Devvon, Cort & LJ!
I'm another one that waits every Wednesday for the new episode. Y'all even kept me company on a long road trip. Appreciate all you guys do.
Note to self; Done is better than perfect. Capcut is really good dude dont overthink it, final cut is fine too. unless youre doing crazy edits and animations its good
I ain’t gone lie ya need to be protected at all cost

This came right on time, I’ve been so stressed and overwhelmed lately, this was pure therapy!
Bouta get that platinum membership. Been struggling with a folk style mix and ironically, that’s the first start-to-finish mix you did💯💯 Pro-Tools for the Win!
I feel like I have to save this episode, so relatable with being an artist/content creator of any kind, thanks for this awesome episode yet again!
This podcast has saved my career. I could cry. Thank yall!
Devvon sound like he in his own way with this album while simultaneously not following his own advice of “Just Go” Put the album out sir. 💪🏾❤️
Gems on gems lets go!!
That was a good way to start the podcast and a nice way to segway into their topic. Just asking how they are doing. I like that.
this such a good topic I cant even put it in words. all the other comments saying the same thing I want to say. the people needed this one!

L Jean is a gem
Awesome to see the growth in you all.
This episode really punched me dead in the damn face, is won’t quit, and I’ve accomplished too much much let a small moment of weakness dictate if I flip the light switch off.
I needed to hear this episode for reals. Devvon I can't wait to hear you new album. as far as I know you always put nothing less the best quality in any project you're working on. this podcast is the best audio quality that I wish others would take more time within. Also, LJ I want to say that I believe in you. At your age you're highly intelligent and I hope everything you're working towards gives back to more than what you wanted from it. You Devvon Courtney all are very talented in whatever you'll want to pursue and I'm glad that music is the choices that you'll make every day.
All three of these cats are 100% real ones 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

This was awesome very much needed thank you for this podcast please don’t give up on us, I’m sure I don’t just speak for myself on this but without this podcast or this channel a lot of us would be stuck on our progress in music creation thank you guys for all you do it’s worth the 50$ a month 🙏🏾💪🏾💎 … ps I have no idea how to access the cash 😅😂 but I got my Eq lmaoo
The busy work beats comment had me weak lmao
If I was to equate yalls videos to sounds/instruments...this one was an 808...Deep, Fam! And then that glide up at the end 🤣 (Im Audio-Nerd Amateur Level here 🤓, but I feel like that makes sense 😌 Lol 😅)
That was tough!
REAL🔥
Always a dope convo little late but fire
Mmmm. The video was the gospel. Ty for the reminder yall. Bless 💎👑
Von almost started something talking bout ecosystems again 😂😂
These grey hair in Devvon’s beard make me feel old. I been watching him for so long now.
Just start
Felt that high set standard that LJ was taking about. I feel the same with songwriting; a new craft I’m trying to learn. Just saying let it go and learn from others.
In advance, thank you
The thing is about being overwhelmed i feel like its a sign to take a rest for a day or two to really reset your mind and let it rest and do something out of routine and the normal sometimes i buy a new plugin and for some
Od reason everything changes its so weird
cap cut the new logic pro - analogy wise
That Neil deGrasse Tyson joke had me weak 😂
Albanese Gummi Bears are the best snacks

Advice, if you’re spending that much time mastering, my friend that is no longer mastering. Plus you’ll NEVER learn trying to figure Mastering out by yourself. I can bet everything on that alone. Get someone to do it (different perspective) or actually learn from someone.
Anything Cheap no Good Anything Good no cheap
Anybody know how I can upgrade tiers without losing my yellow vinyl?
I’ll find out for u come to the discord also. I don’t think u lose ur status by upgrading
JUST AN IDEA '' HEAR ME OUT''
FL STUDIO VS ALBERTON VS PRO TOOLS,
VOCAL TRACKING
SAME VOCALIST
SAME LYRICS 1 VERSE AND HOOK,
VOCAL TRACK THE VERSE AND HOOK IN YOUR OWN DAW
THAN EVERYONE SWTICH TO ANOTHER DAW TO TRACK AGAIN
i always hear PROTOOL is the place to track,
can you give us non pro tool users ways around tracking to make it more efficient
I haven’t really made music in months I’ve been lacking so much creativity.
One thing to note is everyone looks like their DAW… if I saw Courtney in the street; not even knowing if he did music.. I would say he uses Ableton looking at these aweful durags every freakin pod man. I remember he did his hair one freakin day
Anyone try the new Rupert Neve Master Bus Transformer?
Comment Gang we need an uncomfortable conversation about trying to sell beats independently in 2023 WITHOUT having a TH-cam content channel
First
how bout if i told you i was in jail and this podcast helped me figure out what it is i wanted to do with my life
You for real?
Tampico taste like someone swished it n spit it back n da jug
LMAOOOO
ong bro! lmao @@LJean1 tampico should be illegalized, they worried bout the war on drugs lets look at tampico hoe ass!
you guys talk a great game and have a significant amount of knowledge about music production, but i finally heard some of yall's material and was VERY underwhelmed. ALL of you should switch to Ableton IMMEDIATELY, and the guy who already is using Ableton should be ashamed of himself. lol... all love tho.. the podcast is dope.
Man break down the 2 track all they way you only show bits and pieces show a whole video of you mixing and mastering with the 2 track beat
i don't
It’s really dope to hear that people that have some forms of success in the music industry have the same struggles mentally that those working their way up have. Very dope episode fellas
@tdotadot816
I have to agree with @ljean1
