I remember watching this interview on Mtv - when it aired as part of a year-end Liner Notes special. My cousin, sister and I had such a crush on him.. we recorded the interview on audio cassette (didn't have a VCR).. when they showed the excerpt from the video for This Time, we all exploded with laughter when we saw him with Ms. Edith Massey walking down the stairs.
Forever iconic I love Mellencamp and Jack and Diane Rock in the USA arlong with Crumblin Down and Check it out and Pop Singer '89 keep it rocking out my dear friend and I also love Pink Houses ty Nina Blackwood absolutely perfect choice to interview along with John Waite we love you so much girlie xo Rosie from New York City 🇨🇦🇭🇲🇮🇪🇬🇧🇮🇱🇯🇲🇦🇩🇸🇭😇
He has his own sound and I always thought that's what keeps musicians longevity is your own style. He's got good music. I still liked it more when he was called John cougar though.😎
I really like his music - his songwriting is without equal. I don't know why, though, for some reason in this segment (is that Nina Blackburn?), he reminds me of those interviews of Charlie Manson!
Nina Blackwood sounds very different when I listen to her on Sirius XM today. I can only guess that it’s cigarettes that have changed her voice over the years.
This audio quality is HORRIBLE, completely unacceptable.👎🏻👎🏻 i've played this 10 times but i cannot tell if she said he was born in 1962 or 1952, who knows? ⛔
tulllguy- exactly what i been saying about alot of my great 80s musicians/Artist! Im finding out now most of them are liberals & i hate that about them!! (but still love their music)
I just did not buy in for 5 ,10 years..he was one of those farm kids that were ashamed of it...the more he said otherwise the more true it was...he was ok...but he didn't get a dime out of me...and it was his fake BS image...even though he was talented
Let me tell you Mr Mellencamp, you were the real deal in 1982 and your still the real deal in 2022. Love your music. 🎼❤️🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸🕺🏻💃🎸☘️
Man how times have changed
Johnny Cougar, clown show.

"Take it as it comes"...good advice.
Jack and Diane is a nice metaphor for the all American couple romance. How much we've changed since '82.

No even close. Plus, he's still talking.

only thing that sucks about him is his politics

If by "liberal" you mean someone who cares about his fellow man, then I wear the badge With Honor.
His politics are the best thing about him.
@@jhamptonjr
No, that's classic liberalism.
Today's liberal is all about controlling everyone, socialism, perversion, etc
Whatever happened to his first wife (Diane)?
