..This is the last interview I can find where John still looked fairly youthful..even a year or two later, he looks much older..I'm sure the heart attack played into this, plus, he had just reached a certain age...although my health has never been great, I looked young for my age for many years..up until a certain point..then I started actually looking older than my age(no drugs or alcohol involved)..just time caught up...I think it is preferable to age gradually, but that is not how it works for many of us...
It’s weird seeing interviews with cigs! How have times changed. What was cool about Mellencamp is he could get away with a lot that singers just can’t now.

"I had a song called Jack and Diane about 10 years ago". Impossible not to love this guy. If he's saying it out of modesty that's awesome...if he's saying it because he thinks the interviewer is too stupid to know that, that's works, too. Haha
When he met me... [Grabbed my hand, & said: "You're going with me" ...& I Did !!!] I lied about my age... He knew it... I was over 18, < 20 though... Ha !! There's a song that came from it !! When I asked for a favor: (Just wanted him to say Hello and to my aunt 😄) Wanted her to KNOW I WAS THERE...This is the next day... He said: "What: You want me to write a song about you!" I said, Naw & the above Say Hi, to my aunt...[He already had it in his head] Everything we did,...in that song !!! 🎶

I could listen to him talk for hours..his voice is nice & soothing and i love tuning in to his mind..his way of thinking I mean he's just great!!!
