    GIRL! You did that! I was looking for an option that did not involve cutting a plastic mannequin. Thanks!

    my mannequin has a felt skin to it. i assume that would not be appropriate and wouldn't be able to withstand the heat? if i wrap it in cling film would it act as a plastic surface and protect it?

      You do know the heat gun will burn you, right? but if you can tolerate that I guess you can do it on yourself.

      @@5292121 yeah I was wondering if you could heat it to become more malleable and then mold on your body

      Why not making it out of Eva foam? Tiff has a tutorial for that too... Less risky for your skin... Plus in a comment before you said you don't have access to worbla...

    Do you think you could achieve something similar with Eva foam?

    • @TiffanyGordonCosplay
      @TiffanyGordonCosplay  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't recommend doing the entire breastplate as one piece out of foam. Instead I would recommend segmenting the breast areas and the under breast areas as separate sections and glueing them together after. Check out my Making a Breastplate Pattern video for how to do it 😁

    I only have a tailor’s mannequin which is covered by a piece of cotton-polyester cloth. Would it work as well if I apply a lot of Vaseline on it?

    • @TiffanyGordonCosplay
      @TiffanyGordonCosplay  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would recommend using a different type of mannequin if possible as the heat gun may ruin a fabric/cloth cover one by melting or burning it as well as worbla when heated up will attach to fabric. The only other option I could suggest is wrapping it in a ton of layers of suranwrap to protect the mannequin and cover that in Vaseline. Be aware that the heat gun can still melt suranwrap so try to avoid heating it.

    Can I make this without a mannequin? I'm a bit busty... More so than a mannequin.

    • @TiffanyGordonCosplay
      @TiffanyGordonCosplay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can't recommend it as worbla is a plastic that needs to be heated up with a heat gun to 150-175 degree F and can be extremely hot on your chest area. If you have an hard object that is similar size to one breast, you can do this same method to cover it as in the video (do it twice) and then attach to rectangular shape for the belly section.

    Hi! I want to make a breast plate like this but I’m plus size and I think using a mannequin that small wouldn’t work. Do you have any suggestions? It’s okay if you don’t I just thought I didn’t hurt to ask 😅 I really want to use worbla not Eva foam and I’m having a hard time finding a solution for bigger girls online

      You could try making a body cast first using heat resistant plaster and then adding heat resistant lacquer (like for radiators) to create a smooth surface that doesn’t absorb the vaseline.

      Uhmm... Amazon maybe? ... Also worbla is a material you can bend with heat to shape as you want. If you Google a bit you might find more info about it.

    I’m a bigger girl! Wanted to know what can I use as an alternative for the mannequin cause that’s wayyy too small! Should I use an old bra?

    • @TiffanyGordonCosplay
      @TiffanyGordonCosplay  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The object that you cover needs to be hard so a bra would not work. They do make bigger dress forms and mannequins (can look on Amazon) but depending on your size, you may need to use a watermelon/bowl/plastic round object (reminder to cover it in Vaseline before covering with the worbla) and do each breast shape individually and attach the two pieces together after using worbla scraps that you patch together. Hope this helps ☺️

      You can make a template of your body using tape. There are lots of tutorials for this on TH-cam as well! I recommend that method for everyone because it is a much better and comfortable fit to your body but it is more work to make it. You will need the tape mold of your actual chest and some foam as well as the worbla. Essentially you will wrap yourself in cling wrap so that the tape won’t stick to your skin. It’s very hard to explain without demonstrating but I promise there are tutorials. Hope this helps
