Great tutorial! A tip that I like to give to my commissioners is to get half of the rolls in a different contrasting colour, it helps a ton with figuring out where you haven't taped yet! And I cannot stress enough how important the cross hatching pattern is! Otherwise the dummy may come apart when it's stuffed by the maker
Should also mention WIPE IT DOWN AND AIR IT OUT BEFORE YOU TAPE IT BACK UP!! pllsss guys as a suit maker 😭 we don't want to touch your sweat. Nor do we want to smell stagnant sweat
I've seen people make a lot of tape dummies, mostly as a sewing dummy, but they never seemed the be too accurate when done... HOWEVER the painter's suit seems to be a good alternative to sacrificing a tshirt! I certainly feel like it's easier to get a snug fit if you apply more smaller pieces than if you try to just tape all around the body parts in one go, but also from experience, make sure to allow the markers to dry before doing anything around them, the marker tends to sit on the surface of the tape rather than penetrating it and if you don't allow it to dry properly it will smudge and rub off and well, what's the point of the marker then (yes permanent markers don't always instantly evaporate excess liquid) from what I can tell the process can take anywhere between 30-60min depending entirely on how fast and accurate your friends are able to work, so probably something to consider before getting into it (even just making a bust dummy is a lengthy process, let alone whole body), I'd say preparations and planning are an important first step! what I do find to be a con is, duct tape, at least where I live, can be quite expensive regardless of where you purchase it, it seems to be the same price in either hardware/gardening stores, regular chain grocery stores or whatever other type of a store is the one that is always in those unkept old buildings with a window showcase that certainly has not been changed in the last 10years and somehow sells just about anything except food items
I love your tutorials so so so much. I have used this one and the thumb style puffy fur suit paws. As a young fur suited I found this soooo helpful. And since I look up to you and love your tutorials I am beggingggggggg you put up templates for fursuit feet and a tutorial video on that ❤❤
Sweet!!!! Really freaking well made video! This was super helpful, and taught me a few things about making duct tape dummies. Ill make sure to direct future commissioners to your video for guidance :]
Great tutorial! The trust, the intimacy! I think I would trust some of my friends covering me in tape. Would probably be more worried that they feel weird doing it.
Can someone please explain why I would need to tape my hands and feet? It makes scents to tape all the way to my ankles, but why the whole feet? I'm confused
1 month late but you can use scrap materials to stuff it, like random bits of foam or fabric which you should end up with a lot with from fursuit making in general
Maybe it's said in the video, and sorry for missing it if so: what's the range of hours this process could take from start to finish? I've got kidney problems, and it gets dangerous for me to be away from the toilet after three hours or so. I would need to really dehydrate myself! 😵
The more people you have to help, the faster it will go, but it is a VERY slow process, the first time I made one took several hours but it was just ONE person helping me.
Exactly this, with all of us working together it only took about an hour (have someone just keep cutting tape lol) but in the past with less helpers it has taken hours.
@@spiltgrapesoda Thanks you both! I'm lucky to have enough people I'm comfortable with that I could throw a sizable wrap-Mary-in-duct-tape(-safely) party! Sounds fun 😂
The process of using Trauma Shears to cut the Tapes while you still inside it sounds scary… i wish this wasn’t part of the process but i really want my own fursuit fitted to my own body
hi! do you have advice for someone with wide hips and a really small waist for taking the dtd off? the last time i made one i had to cut all the way up to be able to take it off 🥲
NOT THE ANIMORPHS REFERENCE

Don't wanna let that one marinate...
I am going to call my friends tools now

Nice video, and amazing channel. I would be interested to see feet paws tutorial, could there be possibility for a video like that? 😊
Great suggestion! We will be working on a feet paw tutorial, might just take a little bit to come out
@@spiltgrapesodai agree with this! i’m excited for when it is released ^^

this was a super helpful tutorial thank you for doing it
This is an amazing tutorial! I wish i had seen this before I made my previous DTDs, haha! Definitely saving this for future reference!

Best duct tape dummy video I've seen! Also, the laser eyes on the cartoon are hilarious.

You should do tutorials on both of the feet paw patterns soon, also very big fan of yours! :3
Ooooh this is good for future body suit making.
thank you so much! This has helped me alot!

Where can I get that painters suit? I cannot find something similar on Amazon. :(
guys.. are you sure the fursuit won’t be too tight on the persons body? If doing this kind of dummy pattern?
Is there any alternative you recommend instead of Poly fill for filling up the Duct Tape Dummy?

I am very claustrophobic and I’m scared to do this

Imagine you need to go pee in the middle of this
Thats why you need to go to toilet first
The dtd intermission picture 👁️👄👁️
I would make a fursuit but my parents absolutely hate furries because they think all of them are attracted to animals and gay.

Not into furry, no judgement here but I gotta say you are absolutely stunning
Furr suits? Oh god, I'm on THAT weirdo side of youtube...
oh no!! dont watch the video, dont comment, and dont interact and you wont have to deal with us “weirdos” 🤯🤯🤯🤯
DTDs can be used for any costume or clothing related thing, not just fursuits
