    Ohh, this really came out great! I have never used worbla before, but now I might try. Nice job, both with the mask and presenting the tutorial.

    As a moldable plastic I can see using this as a base for a lot of other materials. Like feathers or beadwork held in place with the small dots clever cut out. I will have to get some of this stuff now. Great new project!

    Gorgeous mask, dude!! Ilove how you JUST get into Warbla and come out with a stellar piece. You could even leave one of the eyes uncut and add crystal or some other crazy eye replacement effect.

    As a more recent thing, one downside with worbla is the edges of it for this kind of thing. I was suggested by a friend who works in costuming to find a softer fabric ribbon to work around the edges because they can dig in when around parts of the body that move more such as with the mask.

    I remember when I made my leather Nightwing mask I made it by punching holes, wetting the leather, and tying it to my face and forming it and letting it sit until it dried. This is a really cool method though and I'll have to try it some time once I get worbla

    I wonder if a laser cutter would be able to cut this material without messing up the detail too much. that would really multiply the amount of effects you could do.

    What a cool mask! I have not used worbla but I've been very curious about it! Did you have to wear a respirator while you were heating the plastic?

    • @beckymurphy4714
      @beckymurphy4714 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't have to, no. Just make sure that you're working on a heat-proof surface, and use a silicone mat under the Worbla, as it will stick to a surface after you heat it up. One side is actually smooth and shiny, while the other is duller and a bit textured - the smoother side is the adhesive side. Depending on how heat-sensitive your hands are you might want to wear gloves for forming it; it can get quite hot. Also the more often you heat it the harder it gets to work with, so try to get your basic shape down with the first heating. Worbla comes in black, regular (a tanish color) and clear.

    Ive heard that you can take a pair of black pantyhose and cut off the legs, and use them as a cover for the eyes. That way you can see out, but people cant see in. I dont remember the specifics, but I think it was two layers stretched just tight enough to be see through when on your face but not tight enough to stretch the fabric or make it taught. Worth a shot maybe?

    I've done it on my own face I would heat the Worbla and then put it on my face I would not recommend it though because it is kind of hot with your face being very sensitive just be very very Careful if you do

    You could transform your face into an alien by making chin and cheek pieces to go with the part you made and use spirit gum to attach them. A little makeup in the spaces and you have an alien "mask" that you can wear and still talk and eat.
