I sold my 2017 FJ09 and bought a 2012 Super Tenere and couldn't be happier. The FJ09 had an awesome motor, but I could not stand the crappy stock suspension and the horrible wind buffeting. I tried many different windscreens and none of them worked. I finally had enough and sold it. My Super Tenere has a Madstad adjustable windscreen mount and a MRA Vario windscreen and its awesome. I'll be riding coast to coast with it late May 2024!...

I am on the fence too. My options are The Super Tenere, Tracer 9, FJR or Triumph explorer.
Really wish the Super Tenere came with the FZ01 4 in line R1 engine.

The ST with an ECU flash and full exhaust will open that engine right up!

Not having shaft drive would have been an instant stop for me. The GT+ is awesome except for the chain.

A year later, what do you think now? It is a really great bike, but definitely different from the ST. I'd also hope you got some case liners for your GT. I have side-opening cases on my V-Strom 1K and the liners kept me from torching them. About to pop for an ST and very much looking forward to it for the long rides.

Two great bikes, but different porpouses, you can`t get the same result from a Tracer and the S10, I was abot the same question, but I got the Tracer just because the weight and speed...but S10 is a beast...great video.

I traded in my V-strom for this bike last month. My V-strom was a great commuter bike. I just wasn't excited to ride it like I did when I rode sport bikes. I love the performance and the technology of the Tracer. The Tracer isn't quite as comfortable or economic but I'm grinning ear to ear while I'm riding it. Thanks for the video.

I also owned a V Strom 1000 and sold it for a Tracer 900GT. The V Strom was a really nice bike but had zero excitement factor. My 900GT is the exact opposite….it sounds amazing with a full exhaust and goes very well!!!

@@jmackd1 yeah these triples sure are a special engine! Torquie, economical, sound great with an exhaust and yet quite fast. I am on a Facebook page for the Tracer and there is a guy on there who has done 245,000kms on his bike without an issue which is quite amazing.

I think you should purchase a Yamaha FJR 1300 instead of Tracer. Great sport touring bike. Also think the Super Tenere is an awesome adventure touring bike! Wish I could have two bikes. FJR & Super Tenere!

I am 58 years old an purchased a 2023 Super Tenere 1200. Compared to my Triumph Bonneville T120 1200 the Tenere is a real bike and the Triumph is a around town toy. Since I am 58 this might be my last bike a purchase new a any rate.

How tall are you? I have a 2016 ST and find it big an cumbersome to move around until we're moving then its fine. Very comfy for long trips on hwy. But im considering a tracer 9 gt, they're 90 lbs lighter. I sold my fz1 2 years ago and I miss the sporty engine

Hi my friend. I am 1,82m tall, but I feel very uncomfortable with the seating position... My knees hurt... I have the foot pegs at the lowest position and the seat at the hi, but I still feel uncomfortable! I am thinking about changing the seat with another, more comfortable... I tend to slide forwards... 😭What do you suggest me doing? Should I try to get the foot pegs at the hi position and the seat at the lowest? I feel that this would hurt my knees more... 😭

But what i found very very interesting and i believe better than both AT and Tracer 9 is the 1050 Vstorm. Has all the torgue at low rpm that i enjoy alot and is very managable in town and turns

  • @is3260

If you add Lucas Oil stabilizer to ST it will quiet engine, keep temps lower, improve shifting, etc. A noisy engine is a symptom of too low viscosity or lack of proper lubrication, if engine is sound. ST also has higher load carrying capacity and less vibrations, due to high strength flexible steel frame. The Givi Outback top opening back and side cases on ST are great. That styled side opening luggage is aweful. Hard to go back to chain after no maintenance shaft drive. If my bike was destroyed tomorrow, I would consider the Truimph Tiger 1200 GT or Ducati Multistrada or BMW GSA1300 for touring adventure style bikes. All of which offer low rev engine torque, passing power, adjustable tall windscreen, no highway buzz, comfort, adjustability, better tech, proper luggage and style. For now very content.
