    Cheap pod filters are only for mocking up and not recommended at all! I forgot to mention this in the video,
    This model CB750 is hard to fit pods to so I'm working on a solution using cheap filters that just happen to be black. unfortunately, the only black pod filters are the cheap crappy ones.

    I was debating going with an R6 or GSX-R front end for my '82 CB750, but I went with a CBR600 F2 front end. My OCD couldn't handle mismatched wheel rims and the F2 rear is practically a drop in fit.

    So the you couldnt use the spreadsheet from allballs to buy the correct bearings to do the r6 front end conversion? Also does the EU version cb750 have different gauges and dual front rotors? My 92 cb750 in the states has different gauges and only single rotor in the front. 🤔🤔🤔

    how did you deal with the offset difference? ive read people recommend keeping the offset the same which requires the bottom and top triple from cognito. I'm planning a gsxr 1000 conversion for my cb750 as well. any big issues not changing the offset?

    Did you have to order the triple clamp custom from cognito moto?

    how much travel do the original forks have compared to the r6 forks?
    i'm fitting cbr600f3 stanchions into my standard sliders, they have about 150mm (5 7/8") travel.

      Love seeing your name pop up in my notifications, I always know it will be a positive or funny one. Thank you brother. I realised how handy a hydraulic press would be today but not sure I would use it enough to buy such a bulky item. Ok I will keep the unboxing in the videos but I may separate them from the main build videos. Once again Thank you for the amazing comments :)

      And i look forward to your vids popping up in my notifications. Today that occurred at work. I was tempted to sneek of and watch it but nah better wait till i get home and can enjoy it. A unboxing and build will be cool. Double the Dan vids! #wining. Seriously looking forward to part 2 as well cause its a serious swap and will bring the bike and its handling into thd 21st centuary. Really looking forward to seeing it in action! Cheers mate!

    Hey nice job! Can u tell me is that a stock rear end you have on it? I have a CB750 1981 which with the use of Cognito Moto have managed to put a CBR1000 Fireblade front end on whith the CBR wheel. However I want something a little meetier on the back to match?

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lee Clarke This is the stock cb750f2 1993 rear so it will look awesome on your setup by the sound of things 😊

  • @jamiegreen8065
    @jamiegreen8065 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got a 1980 cb750k that I wanted to upgrade to modern forks but everything that I've looked at says that you need a 20 ton press to get the stem out. But you didn't use a press maybe different year models require a press. I don't know. But I find it pointless to buy a press just to use one time and never again

  • @nickcross2684

    Should’ve loosened the tension on that at the carb. Comes right off with no pliers to the head. Sometimes you can even loosen it enough at the perch.

    Another great video Dan. What's the brand and model of the manual bending machine you unboxed? I saw that in Born Co. Videos too. Thatg guy has some mad skills with sheet metal. Btw. My kids love your vids too.

    Hey mate, just a heads up I bought those grips for my 78 cb750 and the tube didn't fit in the switch unit.. Not sure how you will go but I ended up crushing the new grip in a vice to break the tube up and put the original tube in the new grip.. Good luck!

      Mine is an F2 also :) Do you know what the F2 stands for by any chance?, Ive not looked into it! are you located in Australia? Hi mate, I just wanted to let you know I mentioned you in my latest video regarding the grips :)
      thank you for your help and tips.

    • @silvertrust32
      @silvertrust32 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cafe Racer Garage watched the video, nice work and thanks.
      It took me ages dremel grinding the new tube to fit in the ignition unit before realising I could just use the original tube.. One thing to also check is while the grip is snug over time it stretched and I had to remove it, add some tape and glue to get it nice and tight.. One more thing, if you need glue take the grip off so you don't get glue on the bars like I did haha.
      Keep the vids coming

  • @chiefpepdesign

    Yeah like unboxing video's! But I would recommend to cut video's like these in two. Rather make a dedicaded unboxing vid and call it like that or a wrenching video about your front end... Now you 'tease' me with your R6 front end miniature at the work actually stops and the most exiting part and I get to see unboxing instead... ;) Keep it up! 🖒

    Another great video mate, make sure your pod filters don't have a rubber lip on the inside as it will restrict flow to the air jets.

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alan Dow thank you mate. I was told I will need to re jet the carbs once I get to the tuning stage. This is a little over my head so I might take it somewhere to pay the experts for a perfect tune, what do you think?

    • @dowser81
      @dowser81 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you will defo need to re jet them mate. CV carbs are a complete pain in the arse to re jet with pods as well a strong cross wind can be enough to upset the fuelling but i would definitely have a go if i were you. I change to VM carbs whenever i can they are far easier to re jet.

    As I’m currently watching... So you hit yourself in the head with the long-nosed pliers. When I was in high-school, a friend’s brother was trying to pull the spring off a pair of brake-shoes. When the long-nosed pliers slipped off they came straight back and stabbed his eyeball. Destroyed it. Had to have it removed. Really freaky accident.
