      not really...when you step out and do one skill you learn many others...i also do this sort of stuff and its easy. You do need told..i have mig/tig welders and milling machine, plasma cutter and a million other tools....cheaper buying direct from the shop. But boys do like their toys.

    reminds me of RC engineering where we built race bikes , Terry Vance was a young hot shoe (taking over the riding for Russ's record setting multiple engine Hondas) and Byron Hines was his chief wrench. They used to punch the 750, actually 733, out a hundred to 833 and use stock Honda 350 pistons. Russ had his own manifolds made for side draft webber carbs...fire breathing engines with ARD magnetos and shaved alternators...relatively easy build and a monster to ride, would power this bike perfectly!

    This is honestly an amazing build. You are obviously an all-round fabricator, craftsman... genius! Watching this video made me realise a few things. That there's so much more work involved in building a cafe racer than I first thought. And that maybe I should just leave it up to the professionals.

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much mate. You can always do the stuff you can yourself and pay someone to do the stuff you can’t. That’s always what I recommend 😊
      I encourage anybody to have a go.
      Just remember two things. 1.Never strip the bike down completely. just do it in sections, 2. It’s all about the journey and enjoy the process :)

    The cover shot is incredble! I've owned and sold about 7 or more, over my 58 years, no matter the condition, since the seventies, there is always something of value on these bikes. Guy on a Harley stopped by and asked for a jet!?! I said let me grab some tools. No problem he says, ten minutes later...his bike is idling sweetly! So I gave him the carbs...who knew?

    My first was 1979, first bike,17 years old. It was extended 10 inches, no rake change! No pegs, engine foot rest..yeah I melted a little before welding. No kickstand, because of the ridiculous fork, just lean it against a building! Ape hangers that put your hands to sleep, Aqua marine metal flake, sissy bar....I felt BadAss! A year later, forks, short z bars, header, new spokes, bike became nimble, only breakdown...Lincoln tunnel inbound Manhattan points fused! KNIFE SEPARATION, BRIEF SAND, SET GAP WITH MATCH COVER, THREE KICKS...GONE! (I believe it to be still running, or a part of it.....somewhere)

    I could really use your help and expertise. I just bought a 77 cb750 and it's already been chopped to be a Cafe. I have all the parts, but I'm so lost because this is my first bike build. But it was a steal at 1k for everything.
