    I am trying to do the same right now with a cb900c and cant decide what forks to put on it. im going kind of scrambler cafe style and want to seriousy upgrade the suspension. what do you think would be the best and not super complicated? i also want to put a 19 inch laced wheel in the front. Id like to use a laced wheel in the back too but their hard to find. Do you know if i could use a goldwing wheel or something else for the back so its laced? I just dont love the eighties wheels. thenks, loving your videos

    Have you taken into account the changes to the geometry of the bike when you did this? I'm curious what effect the different wheel size made on handling and what offset triple clamps you went with? Thanks!

    Hi nice work
    I have a cb750f2 1993 and I want to use the original frontwheel on the r1 2003 fork.
    My question is can I make the axel thinner because the bearings with that measurements aren’t available

    Hey Dan, I just purchased a seven fifty and I'm following your videos to get ideas and understand how I have to proceed... Your work is brilliant!
    May I ask you something? You didn't replace the bottom fork clamp, you installed the OEM, and only installed the top cognito clamp... Why? I'm asking you because my budget is limited, but I would like to keep the OEM fork, but just replacing the top clamp... I don't know if it is possible. Thanks for the videos! Take care, cheers from Spain

  • @timwaldram5619
    @timwaldram5619 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    A bit late for a comment but.....I’m really interested in this as I have the same Honda and am looking at GXSR front end. You’ve used the original bottom yoke so you have the small offset from the R6. That’s quite a bit smaller than the 45mm original Honda offset. Cognito make a replacement full yoke (triple tree) so you can get the 45mm offset but it’s pretty costly. What are your views/ experience of going for the small offset?

    Oberon Mirrors and signals. They are bar end and can fit a bar end signal as well. Just a warning, going this route, if the bike is even tipped over, you will break the signal. They are not durable. Might be better off with some mini-signals from someone like Purpose Built Moto's turn signals. Something to think about mate.

  • @iRidetas
    @iRidetas 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Fuk yeah that looks tough! Not that it counts at all but in my opinion id be going for a nice sporty tyre so you can ride the wheels off it as it deserves. Not that im against tbe knobby idea cause that can look cool but im worried it will provide less grip anx look scrambler like. Looks great mate i think the r6 wheel looks great will fit the look well and blend with the other cast wheel a.ok. pumped for you and cant wait to see what you decide and go for!

    Obviously this wont help you, but perhaps someone that may need this info currently. There are some barbed mirrors with built in signals on amazon. They are not expensive and the quality is far better than I thought it would be for the $30 I paid.

    I'm a new subscriber and loving the vids!! I've got a 1983 Kawasaki gt 550 which I'm turning into a cafe/ brat bike. I'm looking to change the front end but stuck on what to change it to. What's your methodology behind choosing a front end that is compatible with my gt 550? Thanks, Pete

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      swinp22 hi mate and welcome,
      Great question by the way,
      The best advice I can give you if you haven’t done a front end before, google or Pinterest images on bikes that hav done the front end USD on your model of bike already, that way you won’t need to reinvent the wheel if you know what I mean.
      R6, 61 or Gsxr are the most popular swaps and look really good when finished, adding the big front rotor is going to bring your brakes into the next level from what is on your bike now.
      It will be like night and day difference with new usd forks and big brakes on your bike.
      When you know what forks you want, call Cognito Moto and get the right advice, they can tell you the best year model of the forks to use and the size of wheel so everything stays the same and the bike is stays safe on the road, tell them what you want to do and they will help you with all the tech questions you have. Talk to Devin Henriques he knows me and my channel so he will understand what you are trying to do if you say you have been chatting with me, Dan at Cafe Racer Garage.
      Any more questions, just ask :)

      Mike Miller you are 100 % right a lot of guys don’t pack them the way they are ment to be packed. reedrobb great question mate. A CBR could of also worked, however, It was easy for me to get a top triple clamp for the R6 conversion on this bike. Are you thinking of doing a conversion?

    • @reedrobb
      @reedrobb 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cafe Racer Garage , yes I am. I have a couple other non-motorcycle projects right now but I’ve always loved the cafe bikes. I just sold a cbr929rr that I completely rebuilt and have a ‘09 cbr1000rr that is wicked fast. At 45, these are getting hard to ride. I just bought a Harley V-Rod and thought a modified CB750 would be more my speed for in town cruising. I’ve never owned a Yamaha so I thought a cbr front end on a CB750 would be the right way to go. Thanks! Love the videos.
