I have a steam deck and I really love it, but getting it to play nice with the tv downstairs to show my parents games is a massive pain. Smart TV features are slow and buggy, sometimes entirely unresponsive. I've gotten my mum into some light gaming too, and there are games coming out soon that I know she would enjoy, so I've been thinking about getting this device as one that could basically live downstairs for my mum to use and to use as an alternative media hub for the TV. Price tag is super good for all that it can do imo. Still not completely sold on it though. Update: I now have a legion go and am using it to write this. Loving it so far! The screen is stunning!
2:09 - I played like this until my neck couldn't take it anymore. I finally bought an overhead tablet mount for my bed and it changed my life. It looks goofy, but it opens up so many possibilities for gaming/watching media. It allows me to play my switch with a pro controller, or stream games to my iPad in complete comfort. My neck and arms thank me, and I can never go back.
This is what I wanted to do. This is what I do with my switch and iPad Pro on my bedside. I have a stand alone iPad holder on my bedside to hold the iPad/switch. This is what contemplating me between rog ally and legion go (and also the sad size)
Lenovo has to build an external GPU enclosure that allows you to connect the Lenovo Legion Go to a dock with a GPU as easily as a a switch connects to the switch dock and then this could be the best "mobile" gaming handheld ever made.
@@oscaspunkja Thank you sir. But I hardly couldn´t find any Station in my Country. There are ugly alternatives on AliExpress. Has someone got any expirience with them? I already got a powersupply and a GPU on my own.
Whenever I see the Legion Go, it reminds me of what the switch joycons coulda been like. Originally, they were supposed to magnetize like this, but when they scrapped that idea, they kept the *snap* noise that we know and love on the Switch!
@@jeanvictor8178it's not. I opted to replace the plastic buckles in my primary joy cons with metal ones about a year after I received it. The plastic ones were already surprisingly eroded by that point, and I try to be particularly gentle with my hardware, but I was rather fond of the click when they slide into place. Now, even with the metal ones, I just hold the button while I attach them and settle for the simulated SNAP that the console makes when they connect.
@RickSanchez-uv6es not breaks but makes the internal plastic part more loose. you can easily replace them with metal ones from eBay, and they'll never wear out. Spawn Wave had a vid about it several years ago.
@@gulfcoaster210 Is it better then games with FSR2? I found a video with the regedit file, ill try it, so i dont need RSR, FSR or anything? Just run everything 800p with integer scaling? Unless its old games that can do full resolution in full speed
@@NoBodysGamer I do still use a little fsr here and there on a couple titles….. fsr quality looks pretty solid at 800p on most titles. It isn’t needed often though. I use it on dead space to get a close to locked 60 fps on high/medium settings. And also on quality in mw3 to keep the frame rate around or above 100fps with fairly high settings. COD looks pretty much as good as native on fsr quality targeting 800p
So having the ability to drop external features to get the device to the bare minimum is really appealing. Like you, I use an all button fight pad, 3D printer and crazy ideas. It turns a simple concept like a portable windows machine into a PC that can change into what ever form, fit or function you’d like. Neat! Also big thank you for providing your 3D model.
I will never not be impressed with how handy you are with CAD software and a 3d printer for someone who does not specifically run a 3D printing channel
You know, that's a good point: I'm used to thinking of console VS PC, trading off power for price, along with exclusives and control schemes etc., but these things are kind of like a console FOR PC with all the benefits (and drawbacks TBF) that come with the format, including the lower price and footprint!
Lenovo could really go all out with controller and keyboard options if they want to and they should absolutely take advantage of the fact the controllers come off
Love that you made this video! I sold a workhorse laptop and a gaming laptop and are exclusively using the Legion Go since Day 1. Looking for eGPU options, as this will round out the device as a gaming rig, as well as a productivity workhorse on the desk. That is all in addition to it being a killer handheld.
Yeah, I'm getting rid of my gaming laptop - I'm going to have a thin and light and a Steam Deck, then use an eGPU for my laptop for strategy games that require a keyboard (and don't scale on a TV).
I like that you thought about as many ways of 'stress testing' this console without it being gimmicky (or actual stress tests, which I think is actually less useful)
I decided with the Steam Deck OLED at this time for the SteamOS functionality. But I really hope the Steam Deck 2 has an eGPU USB4 port for a more powerful console-like experience.
2:05 That's actually an extremely good use case. You can get one of those tablet holders with spider legs that go around your sides rather than one of those cushioned ones.
Just got an Ally, and it is my replacement for a dedicated PC on my living room. It is in fact, spec for spec, more powerful than the one that I was using, but that's mainly because it was an old Optiplex, despite quite upgraded - 4790K, RX 6400, 16 GB Ram and SSDs. With a dock like these Ugreen, Jsaux, Baseus, etc, I don't think anyone that want a gaming desktop (within reasonable expectation) could go wrong with either the Ally or the Legion Go, and that's not considering the eGPU. Factoring these in, then for all intents and purposes, I thing they are a valid replacement for a desktop PC.
Pretty much. I got my desktop AFTER I got my steam deck. As my PC was starting to die, and due for upgrade after 10 years. Regret getting a GPU for it. Because... I've played games on it only a few times.
Issue with Ally on eGPU front is that Asus went for a proprietary plug so you will wind up paying a lot more vs standard eGPU. That said, Ally software/performance is quite ahead of Lenovo right now. Go has a lot of catching up to do and I am not certain Lenovo will actually put the support behind it.
@@OblomsLenovo has been very active in the legion go subreddit. They’ve given weekly updates on things that are getting worked on and have made an effort to be fully transparent about what they know needs to be worked on and what they are fixing based on feedback from the community. They have put out a few updates since launch that have helped the device improve in performance and general enjoyment.
Just a note for the eGPU + Legion Pro handheld bottleneck “issue”: at 4K the bottleneck WILL be in the GPU most of the time, you would probably start running into Legion Pro limitations if you were using a 1080p monitor as then you would be CPU bound.
As mentioned above the CPU is actually pretty decent - even at 5 watt TDP it will hang in surprisingly well with older Ryzen desktop CPUs like the 2000 series and with everything maxed for performance it is actually not that far behind a desktop AMD 5800X! The GPU and where relevant USB4 link is the weakness.
I have a RTX 3080 + Razer Core X that I'm using with my Legion Go! Decided to sell my PS5 and Steam Deck since my handheld device can also be a docked 4k device with this setup. I even have my Legion Go boot into a PS5like theme on Playnite so that it even looks like I'm launching my games from the PS5 operating system. But now I can take everything on the go with me, without streaming any games, without paying any online subscription, without buying games on two different platforms for cross platform saves, and having access to every game library. It's practically a PS5/desktop pc when docked, and a PS4 in handheld. It is honestly surprising how well it works. All in cost was about $1500 after buying the Legion Go ($750), Razer Core X ($250 used on Ebay), and RTX 3080 10GB ($400 refurbished on Ebay). Yeah, I could build a more powerful pc with $1500. But, I can still manage 60 fps at 4k extreme settings on Call of Duty MW3 using the RTX 3080 in the Razer Core X. I'd rather have the flexibility that this setup provides than the little bit more performance an actual desktop pc would bring. I love it 👍
Of all the portable gaming PC's, this is definitely my favourite. I own a Legion Tower with a 3070 and it runs like a dream for single player games, so it's exciting to see a portable version!
My LLGo is my desktop too! Glad more people are covering this. Got my eGPU connected to my TV for that console experience for now so it has also replaced my consoles.. Including switch what with Yuzu.. Couldnt ask for a better device. The bottleneck of 40gb does show its limitations when you go higher with your GPU, so a 3060 TI is a good shout.
Bob, we are sharing brain cells, I swear. I had this same idea with my Switch and my Snackbox Micro but I could never make it work. Glad you found a way to make this work and with a much more capable system than the Switch.
As someone who semi-recently bought a secondary laptop (yes i own 2 laptops i am not financially smart) just to game while im studying overseas, this sounds pretty cool
I love watching these videos but I have to constantly remind myself that the desktop build I’m saving for is what I need and is better for me right now. You’re selling me and I don’t want to be sold! Great video!
Love my Legion Go! Honestly, one of the best purchases I've pulled the trigger on. Played many of my games off Steam and from PC GamePass, and it has been great to just jam out while chilling on my couch or lying in bed. My wife loves the device as well as she's been tweaking on Coral Island.
@@naavidmorshed5516 personally, I haven’t had issues in that regard. Believe or not, I’ve been playing Cyberpunk 2077 with FSR 2.1 with performance mode on high settings and it runs perfectly around 60fps
@@naavidmorshed5516 either way though, I have a lot of love for all 3: legion go, steam deck, and rog ally. For me, I just wanted to play my gamepass games comfortably while offline, and steam deck still have hiccups with that, so I went with the latter
I usually love your videos but the fact this was sponsored by Lenovo feels sorta "sus" to me and just feels like an ad for the device instead of an overview from a tech channel known for honest takes and thoughts on new devices. You made ALOT of great points regarding the performance and the hardware with the legion GO, but you didn't mention any of it's short comings compared to other handheld competitors out right now. The software is quite honestly terrible at the moment. Yes, it will be fixed with time but compared to the ROG Ally or the steam deck, software is VERY lacking. The weight of the device can be a massive issue for most people looking to play games on the GO (as the name implies). While yes you can use the device docked and remove the controllers, using the device in your hands with the controllers attached is almost 2 lbs of weight which is almost double the weight of the ROG Ally and the Steam Deck OLED. Lastly the ergonomics of the device while in hand-held mode is pretty uncomfortable. Sharp edges dig into your palms and the placement of some of the buttons is very questionable. FPS mode is kind of a gimmick once you have it in your hands. I loved the idea, but the execution is a lot to be desired due to the off placement of the controls on the right controller. No matter how long I played an FPS I couldn't wrap my brain around the button placement and it ended up being easier just using a bluetooth gaming mouse (which you can do with any other handheld out there). All in all the Legion GO is amazing in terms of it's specs/performance/features and its wonderful for people wanting a desktop experience in a portable package! However, sadly the hardware and software cons (at the moment) outweigh (pun intended) the good when I am looking for a portable handheld gaming system.
One of the first things he mentioned is that he reviewed this in another video. This was pretty clearly a sponsored video/ad for what you can do with it. Or what he has done with it in this case. I don't really know reviews that advertise like 4 different products and share 3d prints so you can do something silly(but cool) with a thing.
@@d.s.9213 I realize that it wasn't a review after a second watch and that was my mistake. However, again it just feels like a forced advertisement for the product and I'm not a fan of videos like that, especially from a channel that is known for honest reviews. But that's my opinion of course
How he did it makes sense - take the sponsorship on the video where he is just messing around with how he'd like to use it, and keep the review genuine. This is more ad friendly, and gives him an easy video he was already going to make anyway.
It's like a laptop without the subpar keyboard/mouse tacked on. Nice if you have a mechanical keyboard and high end mouse you wanna use anyway. I'm surprised this sort of idea hasn't taken off before.
Dude my legion go was one of the best decisions I have ever made in terms of buying something that will keep giving me the entertainment that I want from it. This thing is an absolute UNIT for a handheld. My only issue is that the right side joystick RGB light has stopped functioning properly, as well as the controllers are a bit rigid in the hand. I'm real excited for the prospect of third parties coming in and making controller attachments or even whole new attachable controllers. The possibilities for this device are literally endless. I urge anyone who is on the fence about buy one of these, to go for it. You're more than likely going to love it. Just make sure you buy the 1tb version at least.
I personally use this as my all in one pc/mobile device. I take it with me to work and play on my breaks and dock it when I get home and it works just fine. I DO plan on eventually saving up to get an eGPU for my home set up. But right now most games I am playing are not demanding enough for me to worry about at the moment. Legion Go is a 10/10 for me.
I bro , I am thinking to buy it,I want to know one thing that, I do forex trading and love to play games, so on this device ,I can browse same as laptop and download things? Also can ply games? Cz if it works like that then no reason to buy a s9 fE plus Samsung tablet. Plz suggest me
I would genuinely use the Legion Go with your 3D-printed stand to orient it vertically, for stuff like Pinball FX, Downwell, arcade games. All it'd need is a weighted base to keep it all standing.

Thanks for the video. I think yours is the only custom/mod channel that I have patience to watch. You talk about the specs but in a interesting way. Thanks man.
You hit the jackpot. A lot of people (including me) don’t have the money to buy a gaming pc, and about a laptop I’ve been an Apple user for more than 10 years. So this fits just perfect, and apart of gaming, it’s quite interesting to be able tu use it as a normal pc. Personally I would always use it plugged into a monitor. Just as my ps5 or switch
I'm pleasantly surprised at your experience with the device, I'm still on the edge of which gaming handheld to get besides the switch, but the controller removal aspect makes a good case for the tablet
I've got the legion go, upgraded from steam deck. I'd say get either steam deck oled (if you want more console like experience) or legion go (if you want more fiddly but also much more powerful and desktop replacement experience) I'd only consider these two personally because the touch pads are THAT IMPORTANT for a hand-held gaming device for me
@@Tom--Acefrom your experience, is it really an upgrade from the Steam deck? I'm having a hard time getting my mind used to letting my deck go (not the recent oled), but I would like to have some more power to be able to play other games. But I also think Valve gives good support to the Deck and I am afraid Lenovo just let its handheld die in a couple of years.
@@martinsosa3453Legion Go is more powerful but the Steam Deck OLED has better battery efficiency and I think performance per watt as well. Once you go OLED, you can't go back to LCD. Lenovo really dropped the ball not having OLED. Same goes for Asus. IPS LCD looks like washed out garbage with or without Mini LED due to the backlight. 🤮🤮🤮
I've been saying a lot that the price doesn't justify this product for me personally. But seeing how you go about it always changes my mind a bit on these things. Really love seeing you put your 3D printing skills to the test with these products.
That's because your mistake is letting price dictate your decision. This isn't a Ferrari or Lamborghini we're talking about. Your enjoyment of a product should be based on the experience it provides and NOT how much you paid for it. If you got the Legion Go for free then you'd be praising it. If someone told you to pay retail price for it then suddenly it's not worth it?? MAKES NO SENSE. 🤣🤣🤣
@@PSYCHOV3N0Mwell to be fair, I’m a simple person and have been having a blast with my steam deck that I got on sale with 64 gb and put more storage for way less. So when I say price doesn’t justify it for me PERSONALLY, I mean that I feel like I would have gotten the same enjoyment out of it that I would have for something a lot cheaper. Hope this helps.
I was totally thinking about getting this as my main windows desktop. My work requires me to have a mac, so this would mainly be for games. And now, I feel pretty good about the idea of picking it up. Thanks!
Before the Steam Deck OLED announcement I was leaning towards a Legion Go over a ROG Ally... but since getting the Steam Deck OLED and learning how it works vs watching how people struggle with a windows based handheld... I still think I may the right choice, despite this Legion Go is more powerful.
Pretty sure that's the reason Valve hasn't released SteamOS for other PCs like they said they would when they announced the Deck, pretty shitty practice imo
@@gasoline9456Valve is still planning on releasing SteamOS, you can follow the public OS updates they post. They haven't released it yet because it's not finalized for desktop or other devices. Linux isn't like Windows, and doesn't just "work" with compatibility for all hardware out of the box.
@@gasoline9456 It is extremely difficult to support a wide range of hardware, especially esoteric and specialized hardware that is used on these handhelds. Valve does not want to release a broken product.
I got the legion go and im falling in love with pc gaming all over again. My kid plays games on ps5 and i play with him on the le-go. Its my favorite device right now
In 10 years the seamlessness of handheld gaming pcs to becoming desktops will be incredible, and you’ll be able to competitively game on the go, or at your desk. Makes me really excited for the future. Also hopefully in the future Ubisoft makes a second rainbow six siege and the community never dies 😢
I just upgraded my Lenovo Legion Go with Visiontek 2tb drive. Im also running it with eGPU 3090, ethernet and 4 usb slots. I sold my 5900X Titan x Pascal gaming pc because this new setup easily replaces it. Found also out there is not plenty information about this kind of setup while ran in to blue screens. Had to DDU, install nvidia drivers in safemode and then reinstall stuff back and was good to go. Also i had to pair mine with Keychron K3 Pro keyboard. Been loving it. Huge fan of the device!
I’ve never been able to afford a gaming PC and always wanted one. It’s insane to think for under £800 I can have a device with capability of not only a decent gaming PC but the ability to play triple A titles on the go also. What a time to be alive!
I have owned all the mainstream handheld so far. And this one is by far the best. I'm getting it for having gaming on the go. But also so my girlfriend has something to play when she comes over, and being able to add an eGPU is awesome. When I upgrade the GPU in my desktop I'll just pop my 2070 TI into the enclosure and it adds more functionality to the device for me. Without having to build her her own rig right now.
Lenovo has got to be extremely satisfied with this video. Cus damn this was a very well made video. I went from not knowing this existed to wanted one.

Bob we’ve been on similar tech journeys, trying to learn and tinker as much as we can. This video is exactly what I needed to know that I should get the legion go. I have the same razer core egpu and want to put my 4070 in it. No one has been testing that use case so thank you for trying it. Knowing your bottlenecks were near non existent was exactly what I needed to hear
Keep in mind that at 4K the 3060 Ti is gonna be the bottleneck, like sure, it runs nice in this case, but for other games a 3060 Ti isn’t really a 4K GPU. If you are playing at 1080p for example, then the Legion Pro’s CPU WILL be the bottleneck, more significantly so with a 4070. Or course, what you will notice will depend on what PC gaming setup you have. If you are usually playing on a laptop with the eGPU then you are probably not going to notice any difference, if you use a full desktop gaming PC with any CPU that’s recommended for gaming then yeah, you are seeing a difference. TL;DR: In Bob’s case, bottleneck is at GPU because of 4K and it likely is in his desktop PC as well, not CPU.
This video is a paid ad, not an actual review. It’s not exactly what you needed to know because it ignores the cons and completely fails to mention the better windows handhelds.
@@Splackavellie85 clearly you’ve been burned by the product, which is fine, but you don’t need to shit on the video here. It’s not a review, it’s cool things he’s been doing with the device. I’ve seen his review and others so I know the flaws of the system. Personally I don’t care enough about the portrait screen for it to matter. Yes, vrr would be nice, but I’ve been living without it with the steam deck. You mention the z13 flow tablet in another comment. Yeah it’s exponentially more powerful but it’s also exponentially more expensive. This device sits in my sweet spot (especially since I found a Best Buy open box for $600 for the 1tb) for a device that I can turn into a switch pro with parts I already have laying around (egpu). So you can stop your “um actually 🤓” comments
@@Darktega Yeah but I’ll be playing on a 4k tv. The appeal of this system with an egpu is that it’ll act as a switch pro when you dock it, so I’ll definitely hit a gpu bottleneck before cpu. I do want to note the z1 extreme is a pretty capable cpu in and of itself, so it deserves more credit than that. But if I ever do hit a cpu bottleneck, that could also be alleviated with frame gen in certain games. Believe me I’ve been thinking this through, I just needed a video that showed the use case in action
@@Splackavellie85I don't think so. Maybe there are cons but the way this performs at stock, I'm seeing real potential here. I would like to see a nice portable EGPU with a great source of power and also an NVME attached. That is what I'm looking for. I had one issue where I accidentally didn't shut down the Legion Go and the micro sd stopped working but then when it cooled down, it started working again. I was ready to throw in the towel but now, I'm more convinced that it needs the proper care.
Did the same thing with my Legion Go...Got the Razer Core X (with the USB ports) took a 3070 out of my desktop and the performance is fantastic. The docking/undocking isn't as seamless as the Switch, but it's pretty freaking great. I have an EVGA GPU and there is some wonkiness with the fan running full blast when the Go is in sleep mode, but performance is just as good as my dedicated desktop gaming rig. I'd love to see 3rd party controllers without FPS (smaller/lighter) It's a great device!
That's partly a Windows issue. That's why I'm hoping the Steam Deck 2 has eGPU support. I want that one device that I can carry around with me, then slot into a dock (& eGPU) for a powerful console-like experience. The only reason I didn't go for the Legion Go is because I hate Windows. If this natively ran SteamOS without issue, then I'd have jumped on it.
@@Patrick-y4d1z I hear you! I wish the SteamDeck had TB support. I freaking love the OLED deck but it still just doesn't look great on a big TV. I had read somewhere that EVGA GPU's have a weird issue with the fans and eGPUs, but I'm not bothering to buy a different OEM GPU just to try it out!
Bob, god bless you, man, you answered LITERALLY every question I had about using this as a desktop. I AM going to be one of those morons using an eGPU with this tablet at home, I AM going to be playing valorant, I AM going to be using a TB3 card enclosure, I ALSO play games with my switch right next to my face and the joycons off (glad it’s not just me) - this thing is going to replace my old MacBook Pro running Bootcamp that for whatever reason keeps giving me flak when I try and play VR games even when connected to my AORUS RX580 gaming box. Looks like the Legion is gonna be a drop-in replacement. That’s exactly everything I needed to know.
I was going to get a gaming laptop but the legion go is so much more comfortable in bed and in the couch, and its powerful I’m loving mine , 1 day owner and already in love
I am considering this over a gaming PC and an avid phone plus console gamer. Interesting choices of accessories and overclocking the performance of the Legion Go. This fit the bill, thanks!
*FYI:* To use your right thumbstick as a mouse pointer just like the Ally does, go to Steam settings and enable desktop controller input. The sensitivity is a bit wack, so adjust it accordingly in Legion Space or Steam. Use your main L/R triggers as Left/Right mouse. Steam has to be running, so either touchscreen/touchpad it at bootup or have it in your startup apps in the background. GL!!
This is nearly revolutionary. Instead of a controller, you could also put a keyboard in there. I'll be hard at work trying to design new 3d printed keyboard holders lol
The portable PC scene is exciting and ever morphing. Thanks to the Switch and Steam Deck, things are getting very capable and versatile. This now challenges to some degree, the relevance of massive tower PC beasts
I love my Legion Go. I got it few weeks ago and I think it's trh best gaming device I ever had. This is something coming from a total ex Sony fan boy. I haven't had a console or gaming pc for 5 years as I got tired of bulky stuff connected to bulky TV. I dotm even have TV anymore. This really is great little decide. I even got Xreal 2 pro glasses with it and it's a blast. Everything is small and compact. I can play in my bed all this takes little space. Perfect and super powerful.
i was overdue to upgrade my ryzen 3200g desktop,so i just opted to buy a legion go instead being i already had egpu enclosure and i am very happy with that choice it doesn't disapoint on the handheld side of things and once you plug a gpu into it, it becomes quite the capable gaming machine, if you want to have a gaming handheld that can do double duty as a desktop then your gonna want one of these
So i bought one lol, COMPLETELY replaced my PC. I have never been happier with anything Eletric in my life. lol. I strait run a Tripple monitor set up, 4 if you include the go screen, Undocks with two cords. this thing is insane!
Looking forward to future revisions of this handheld. A lot of interesting things with it, to where it'd likely be the one I'd get if I were in the market right now. However, I have a Steam Deck, and I'm not going to be buying a handheld PC yearly, and want a bit bigger jump in performance before getting another.
i couldnt agree with all the points you have mentioned. i am loving the go. i have had thr SD and Ally, and the go is so good, versatile and fun to use. especially with my fightpad and sf6, GGS, KI
You made the right choice on the lower end razer core. The USB version has a bug that causes it to crash when you have USB stuff plugged in. At best those are good for just the Ethernet.
Love those small keebs you have. Please start reviewing some mechanical keyboards Wulff. I know the scene is already packed with hobbyists but I'd love to hear your breakdown on mechanical keyboards and what kind of switches you like for different kinds of games
I bought one of these yesterday, somewhat justifying me carrying this as a laptop too. As a PC, it's perfect if you have access to a docking station. (Perfect for me, that is. I don't do crazy cad stuff, it's mostly Microsoft Productivity stuff plus web, for which this is excellent) As a gaming device, i'm new to it. I tried Cyberpunk with the controllers. the game runs very well but I hate using a controller, so I'll be buying a small BT mouse. then I played Diablo IV with the controllers. I loved it!
This one device for all use cases with e gpu is the future am dreaming of. You can come home plug it in have extra storage and ssds pluging into it and dual boot and can switch from something like steam os on the go to windows with all the egpu goodness. Plus with removable joycons you could also turn it into a tiny little laptop too 😂 if you replace them with a keyboard! ❤ 🤤 (in a future imaginary device)
I’m still waiting until Microsoft optimizes Windows for handheld gaming devices to dive in these things; the Steam Deck serves my needs for the time being. I was originally very interested in this device, but I can’t get past the fact that it looks like it never left the prototype design phase. But at least looks more attractive than the toy-looking ROG Ally lol.
Your dock design is the closest I have seen to what I want for my Legion go. I want to learn how to create one to make a dock purely tontake advantage of the bottom port with a cable going to the actual usb c hub I am using.
I sold my ROG Ally and upgraded to this. The screen on the ally/steam deck is just a little smaller than I like for a gaming device but the legion is perfect. I've also created a model for a good stand for your desk if you remove the controllers, so you can use it as a small form factor PC that way if you want. Because it's USB4, it can drive my 4k monitor at 60hz no issue (can't get 120 working for some reason) for general use but obviously not gaming. It's a great handheld, and once lenovo fixes the dead zones on the sticks it'll be nearly perfect. Handheld Companion can do it now in a beta version but not having to use a third party app would be ideal.

They should just add an Oculink port next to USB4 like GPD does.
Well Bob glad to see that 3D printer never gets a break.
Whenever I see the Legion Go, it reminds me of what the switch joycons coulda been like. Originally, they were supposed to magnetize like this, but when they scrapped that idea, they kept the *snap* noise that we know and love on the Switch!
@RickSanchez-uv6esthat's false
@@radicalunarthere’s no railed, it’s like a puzzle piece u snap in.
@RickSanchez-uv6es not breaks but makes the internal plastic part more loose. you can easily replace them with metal ones from eBay, and they'll never wear out. Spawn Wave had a vid about it several years ago.
As much as I love my Legion Go, those controllers do not come off and on as a easy as the Switch.
I think Bob needs to start an accessory company at this point because these ideas are too good
I like how you manage to make everything yours even when the company does not expect you to. That little extra

Its everything that makes the nintendo switch such a promising device, but you can play games
Dude this beats consoles except for exclusives
Lenovo could really go all out with controller and keyboard options if they want to and they should absolutely take advantage of the fact the controllers come off
Really hope they come out with a keyboard
Love that you made this video! I sold a workhorse laptop and a gaming laptop and are exclusively using the Legion Go since Day 1. Looking for eGPU options, as this will round out the device as a gaming rig, as well as a productivity workhorse on the desk. That is all in addition to it being a killer handheld.
Yeah, I'm getting rid of my gaming laptop - I'm going to have a thin and light and a Steam Deck, then use an eGPU for my laptop for strategy games that require a keyboard (and don't scale on a TV).
Me too
Onexplayer is about to release a decently powerful amd egpu
It’s a paid ad. It’s not his real opinion
@@Patrick-y4d1zYou can hook up an eGPU to the Steam Deck?!
I use Legion Go as computer for all. Work and play. It's great! I also have EGPU for more demanding tasks. I just love it. ♥️
I like that you thought about as many ways of 'stress testing' this console without it being gimmicky (or actual stress tests, which I think is actually less useful)
The way you've set it up. It's very inspiring and makes me consider it more.
Still not likely, bottleneck should on the USB4 link not CPU, the Zen 4 8 cores at 30W is superfast no current game can be bottlenecked by it.
The big screen really makes a difference. It’s hard to go back to steam decks size
Is not having vrr is an issue? I really like the giant screen of go but because of a lot of reddit thread about vrr I can't decide between the two
@@naavidmorshed5516 personally, I haven’t had issues in that regard.

Yes coral island and palia I’m excited about. And Deathloop. How does Pc Gamepass work and what can you play and not play. I don’t have Xbox yet
It's a sponsored video not a review so he showcases the device and what you can do with it. What is "sus" about that?
@@Wilkin-vd5wx That's what I was trying to say as a response to the original comment ^^` The review is another video.
I am really a fan of how it looks without the controllers. something about a big chunky powerful tablet that i like
It's like a laptop without the subpar keyboard/mouse tacked on.

I've got the legion go, upgraded from steam deck.
I'd say get either steam deck oled (if you want more console like experience) or legion go (if you want more fiddly but also much more powerful and desktop replacement experience)

That's because your mistake is letting price dictate your decision. This isn't a Ferrari or Lamborghini we're talking about.
Your enjoyment of a product should be based on the experience it provides and NOT how much you paid for it.

I had one issue where I accidentally didn't shut down the Legion Go and the micro sd stopped working but then when it cooled down, it started working again. I was ready to throw in the towel but now, I'm more convinced that it needs the proper care.
The joke with his dog and girlfriend is so funny 😂 I love this guy and his content. Keep it up
Did the same thing with my Legion Go...Got the Razer Core X (with the USB ports) took a 3070 out of my desktop and the performance is fantastic.

GL!!

Im so happy
U not gonna regret it is awesome device
I normally wouldn't like sponsored videos, but this is well done
You made the right choice on the lower end razer core. The USB version has a bug that causes it to crash when you have USB stuff plugged in. At best those are good for just the Ethernet.
This is the best Legion Go review ive seen!!!!
Love those small keebs you have. Please start reviewing some mechanical keyboards Wulff. I know the scene is already packed with hobbyists but I'd love to hear your breakdown on mechanical keyboards and what kind of switches you like for different kinds of games
Nice job you’ve convinced me I’ve been looking for a gaming laptop but there’s a lot more you can do with this I definitely need to check this out!
I loved it!
I just got mine today. I'm a bit overwhelmed but I'm smitten
(in a future imaginary device)
will definitely be getting one to replace my surface. Lenovo should make a tiny keyboard that slots into the bottom usbc
They are trying to with the xbox app
Your dock design is the closest I have seen to what I want for my Legion go. I want to learn how to create one to make a dock purely tontake advantage of the bottom port with a cable going to the actual usb c hub I am using.
thanks for including the 3d printing files, i wanna do one for ROGAlly/Steamdeck
Dang, the option to add more PC power and make it your main PC is pretty sweet!
I did the same hahaha bye rog ally and just get the lenovo i have the deck for fighting games and triple a the lenovo
I'm in love with this device
bro made a laptop with 12 buttons... I love it!
