Dang Bob, thanks so much for the shoutout! Blurring the footage is a baller move
Our Nintendo community is tight 🤞🏾 our teamwork shan’t go underestimated
Stop advertising russian products that are filled with war propaganda.
Would you have bought devices with swastika symbols made in Germany while Hitler was alive? That's essentially what you're doing if you buy the MiG Switch, but with russian war propaganda instead.
I am now inspired to hack my Switch and play its games on my Steam Deck just to spite Nintendo.
Stop advertising russian products that are filled with russian propaganda.
They’re gonna copyright claim the thumbnails of the games
He blacked them out
Well, they already do. They banned a lot of thumbnails on steamdb site
No, he will get it because of russia started the war by invading Ukraine, and supporting russian companies directly funds this war. Buying the MIG Switch means your money goes to russians, who pay taxes that definitely support the invasion. This is also illegal due to sanctions. The device is filled with russian military propaganda. 'MIG' is the name of russian fighter jets, a symbol of their military power. It's shameful that the TH-camr didn't mention this and is promoting a russian device. Don't support those who back the war.
@@Fleshlight_Reviewer He blurred gameplay, Nindo's gonna go after the _logos_ on the menu screen, just watch.
They already claimed the game thumbnails in RGC's video. I downloaded it before it was taken down, and the claimed timestamps only show the Switch app launcher screen.
at this point, i have zero trust for bob's volume during yahungries
😂
I yell alongside him lmao
It's been literal decades, and whether it's roms or hardware modding, Nintendo still has yet to understand how the Streisand Effect works.
Who's Barbara Streisand? I'll look it up! (and read the whole wikipedia!)
Ladies and gentlemen, we got him
the reverse streisand effect: when you raise attention on so much bullshit that people cant focus on a specific thing
Maybe a multimillion dollar company with access to statistics data knows more than you do
It has to do with their old understanding of the copyright laws that they need to keep sueing people who infringe on their copyright, it’s kinda sad

We need clearer laws on this stuff so that it's not such a toss up and people aren't worried even when they aren't breaking the law. It's a mess.
The laws are pretty clear, but TH-cam basically doesn't care.
And mainly, Nintendo is a Japanese company, they don't have fair use laws in Japan, so Japan would need *new* laws and regulations
@@Yixdy Of course, IMO, I think they need to get their heads out of their rectum and act like a U.S. company when doing business in the United States.
Also, if we didn't have so many judges that defer to big businesses, like a little female dog, it might not be as big an issue.
Why is owning products you bought such an outlandish concept these days
@@Yixdynope. Nintendo can't apply Japanese law to the US. the most they can do is have TH-cam block the videos in Japan.
I swear Bob.Your sense of humor makes it impossible for me to skip the sponsor bits. Unlike every other thing I watch.
7:10 this is a feature. As soon as you run a game it locks in. To go back into switching mode you have to quickly insert and remove the cart twice.
i was about to say, click it a couple times and it’s good to go. otherwise i love the product
My wife too, quickly insert to shift her to bitching mode
saying YA HUNGRY before bob does has become an essential part of watching these factor ads
Companies really need to be stripped of their almighty power when it comes to copyright
Still havent bothered to buy anything Nintendo.
As soon as I heard him say "Deliver healthy meals right to your door step" and him going for the green screen I was like "No, NO, NOO!!"
I recommend the plugin that blocks sponsors called sponsor block, and TH-cam revanced for android it comes with it the plugin is just for chrome though on a computer
"The dumper is the star of the show here"... aint this always the case? 😂
😂 good one that got me laughing out loud
A man of culture, I see
The issue with the used games getting dumped isn't with willful and malicious actors. It's about people who just *don't know* that games have unique identifying information on them, and that Nintendo will ban that game with that ID. There's a strong chance that someone buys this device, thinking they're buying a free game machine, because they literally just do not know how these systems work, and then just resell the game or get a refund without thinking anything of it.
As a furthering of this conversation, what happens if a customer buys a physical game from a store, gets the error code that says this copy of the game is banned, and wants a refund? Will that customer be able to get their money back? Or will they be suspected of ripping the game themselves and running it on two Switches? Do we as buyers have any recourse in this scenario?
Has anyone ever been banned for this? You’d think it’d happen by now but I don’t see actual evidence. Nintendo knows they can’t ban on this premise because of the harm it’d do to unsuspecting buyers on the second hand market. I think your comment is fearmongering a little
I think if you are going through all of this trouble, you'll either already know that they have unique IDs or you'll find out in your research if you didn't already know.
If people just want free games, there is already a much better and ACTUALLY FREE way of doing it, being modding your console, which they're probably going to do instead. That doesn't require purchasing games and returning them or really trying to find these raw dumps.
Even if it has happened, I can see it being so extremely uncommon that either Nintendo wouldn't do anything about it, or if you did get wrongfully banned you could get in touch with their customer support to verify things. They actually do have really good support.
@beardalaxy You would be surprised how many consumers know just enough to understand the process for getting free games, but not enough to know anything else, because that's all they *wanted* to learn. It happens all the time in the hacking servers, where people go for guidance and support with getting their consoles modded. And to clarify, this product exists, mostly, for people who *cannot mod their console,* or who lack the technical knowledge, and motivation to attain it. Most Switches are not hackable, by a longshot, without an expensive modchip and installation fee, or learning microsoldering. The drag-and-drop nature of the product means you never really have to *think* about how it works, as long as you know some basic functions of a computer.
As for bans, they absolutely have happened. They are automatic. Once the logs exist, it becomes a matter of when, not if. The rise in popularity of these products will only incite a further crackdown from Nintendo's side, as the issue becomes more widespread.
12:06 There was an incident with copies of Pokemon Omega Ruby on 3DS suffering exactly this problem, but after the backlash caused by a rash of people buying used carts with tainted UIDs, Nintendo has become a little more careful, only going after only UIDs that appear a dozen times or more at once. Most public dumping groups strip the UID from their dumps entirely as well, so it shouldn't be an issue anymore as long as the same cart doesn't get passed around a bunch.
I have to say, that transition to the sponsored part was smoth as a punch lol😂😂😂😂😂
Russ was literally playing his *own* games that he *owns physically* and showed in the same video.
Bob, I hope yours video stays up and he's vindicated in some way.
it's still illegal though.
@@Yusei255no it isn't
@@Yusei255 It's not illegal to backup and use copies of your own physical games. It's illegal if you obtain them without owning them - or even if you own them and obtain them from another source that is not extracted directly from your own personal physical copy. Russ showed games he physically owns, backed up legally, and ran on an emulator. I'm not an attorney though, so if I'm wrong, someone please correct me and site legal sources so we can all learn.
@Yusei255 like it's illegal to have a opinion that doesn't fall in line with the greedy corporate executives at Nintendo or heck even the government
The reverse psychology in that email is crazy XD
Glad I'm not the only person who had that thought xD
Who else is here before the Nintendo Ninjas try and take action?

Don't worry, I've already downloaded it. If anyone was looking to know how, my advice would be to follow the capitalized letters in the following random sentence: 'whY Tow aDapters, controLs, and piPes.'
Yup LOL.
I watchlisted the video mentioned on the begining, but never got to see it before Nintenblow took it down.
I was just curious how the system worked.
sweating bullets over here for my own personal reasons😶Best of luck bob. A real shame what happened to Russ :(
it’s so cool that something exists now to be able to back up our games games preservation is going to become very important since the switch’s life is ending soon
Bob, you may need to blur more of the footage. The claimed part of Russ's video only showed the _title card_ of a game on the app launcher, not the game's title screen or gameplay. Really, people should be blurring out literally every Nintendo product, bleeping out the name of the company and all their properties, etc. Treat everything they've ever made as if it's too obscene for anyone to see or hear. This eliminates the copyright-based attack vector they use to file bogus strikes, takes away free advertising, dings their family-friendly brand image, and makes a strong point about how ridiculous their behavior is.
The easiest way to accomplish this is stop covering anything Nintendo. They're bullies.
@@SkateSoup Also "redistribute" all Nintendo games. Just to make a point.
@@SkateSoup I agree, but in addition to hiding their products, I think it's worth hiding them _prominently,_ to point out how absurd they're being. If they wanna censor, fine. Practice malicious compliance and censor _everything_ about them.
@OnkelShlimpo-vr6bf do this one at your own risk, lol. This is what Nintendo goes after the most.
Yes, blur and censor all N*nten*o references and properties as if they were adult content or offensive words or advetiser-unfriendly. LOL
the hype for the mig switch cart was way too overblown. most people thought it would be like the ds r4 cards back in the day but thats just not the case. the dumper on the other hand is great. purchased one myself
I told myself I didn't need one of these because I already have a hacked switch.
now I learned about RGC's copyright strike...
Screw it now I want one of these just out of spite.
It's funny, there's no issues with ripping your music CDs through iTunes to use on your iPod, but for some reason, console games are exempt from this? Didn't Sony get a lawsuit for putting malware on music CDs in the early 2000's to prevent people from ripping said music CDs?
EDIT: The banning issue wouldn't apply if you could find a way to generate a ticketless dump. That said, I imagine the lack of a ticket would trigger a system ban if you tried playing said "cartridge" online.
I saw a review of a previous version a while back. All (except maybe 1?) of the tickets are required to be present for the Switch to read it. Some certificate switching from donor carts is possible, but detectable if Nintendo wants it to be
Having no game certificate at all does indeed get you banned, Nintendo only looks at a couple of things, one is making sure the game certificate is there and valid, two is making sure the certificate is not being reused on multiple games to prevent both Gold Points abuse and piracy, and three, if the game utilizes Nintendo Switch Online, the game certificate is sent to the server along with the device token, and if both are valid, the server will give back a application token.
If you are banned, you won't ever have a device token as that is given by a different server (dauth server, or device authorization), which looks at your device certificate to see if it's been banned, if it isn't, you get your device token.
The uncertainty is around encrypted games. A GBA game has no encryption on it, so dumping it is entirely fine legally, but something like a Vita or Switch game is a bit hazy.
Devices that let you play games on a competitor's device are illegal, this was established with Atari and Intellivision.
@@deathtrooper2048 No, Bleem technically won their lawsuit, but they were bled out of money thanks to the cost of the lawsuit.
Bleem had a Sega Dreamcast version. Only reason console platform holders don't allow emulators is because they don't want their relationship with other platform holders to burn. Didn't stop Rare Replay or the Goldeneye Remaster from having an N64 emulator built-in, so I guess platform holders only really like emulators if it's not at their expense.
that sponsorship ad was quite good hahaha made me laugh hahaha
Specially the Proud Smile on Wolf's face hahaha
I endlessly see videos about what THEY WANT and THEY NEED and what THEY'RE TRYING
...but really who gives a ----?!
I pirate everything, I store everything, I back up everything, I play everything I want for free 24/7 365 if I want.
2500 tv shows, 3500 movies, 80,000 games, 1000 books, 500 audio books, 5000 songs. 25,000 youtube videos
All offline, no commercials, no updates, no patches, no downloading, no streaming, play on just about any laptop and phone in existence , displayed onto any screen.
Everyone should stop crying about what they're TRYING to do and instead spend their time GETTING it before they can stop it, rendering their attempts completely pointless at the best case scenario.
Nintendo wants to block all piracy of mario games? who cares, I got them all with 3 backups and I've got 5 phones and laptops to play them on!
TH-cam fills videos with ads and adblocker demands?! So what, I just downloaded the whole video before I even clicked on it!

Ordered my dumper on June 4, just got it today October 7 to help you understand shipping times. East coat US, it shipped from IL. Didn't hear anything from June 4 until September 24th when it said it shipped. Perfect timing for Echoes of Wisdom.
I like that you went over his video getting removed and went on to mention another reason they could take any of these down - hardware designed to circumvent copy protection mechanisms
Okay I've been on a manhunt for weeks now because I didn't realize the item I was looking for was the MIG. I thought I saw a video of someone who had a 3rd party cartridge that had a switch program that could then copy whatever physical games you inserted, guess I'm living a little too far into the future!
I really appreciate your video since it fully turned me over from wanting my own to "I would literally rather just swap my cartridge at that point". I was hoping to find something to make it less of a hassle when I'm at home and wanting to quickly change out my games without buying all my physical games as digital copies .
The only thing that would truly suck about a hypothetical where Nintendo strikes/bans both users is I honestly don't know the origins of at least half my games at this point. Idk about everyone else, but outside of the second hand market I've just been full on gifted copies of used games from friends who aren't attached anymore. I can imagine this would create all kinds of issues for people who may have forgotten which games of theirs they got second hand or not
Man, the whole game situation is crazy. Also gotta say THAT AD TRANSITION WAS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
at this point nintendo is just abusing the copyright system
They should just make a Nintendo [ allinone ] cartridge where you can fully move your games onto one cartridge for multipurpose reasons, to stop pirating just make it unreadable to a PC via a chip that verifies if its in a switch
Here before it gets pulled like Retro Game Corps video.
Props for taking on the big guys. Probably should blurred the Nintendo game icons too on the switch 😅
That green screen transition though! Perfection! 😂
got me good 😂😂
I hope years after the switch is discontinued and Nintendo takes their servers down that these cards are allowed to expand and be what they're supposed to.
There will probably be software or bootrom exploits at that point for all units which makes the flashcarts irrelevant, it's what happened with the 3DS.
it wont. they'll fight it till the day nintendo dies.
@@BloopTube How much you wanna bet that the backward compatibility will be based on Yuzu's code? They technically own that now.
(edit: I was wrong, Nintendo does _not_ own yuzu now)
@@ToyKeeperim 101% sure that it will use yuzu's code or potentially make it better. literally, after the lawsuit yuzu is now nintendo's property
@@ThatYahooyuzu is open source, you can’t make it closed source once published and the repositories were taken down. The lawsuit covered a cease and desist on development and distribution of the emulator plus giving up their domain name (paying 2.4 million in restitution fees as well) which is different from them owning the emulator code. Nowhere does it state Nintendo owns the code, if you have a link to any official court documentation that states otherwise I’d be glad to be proven wrong but as it stands you’re spreading misinformation.
That loud "YAHUNGRY?!" made me laugh. It was worth it.
Standing up for Russ is absolutely the right thing to do - I love this community
My modded OLED is amazing as you can dump the cartridge games straight into the SD card. I just love the comfort of never swapping cartridges and I still have my original copies for preservation.
The dumper exists! Some people were convinced it was made up because of the crazy delays.
11:11 how would we know Bob…it’s blurred out 😅😂😂😂
Great vid Bob. I have both. I use the dumper a ton to back up the games for my kids. I highly recommend the dumper as well.
Can you put them into named folders so you know what’s what ? On the SD card ?
"Horrible for piracy" - There are literally terrabytes of mig switch dumps floating around.
But you'll get your account banned playing them online unfortunately
I doubt people who are downloading these care about playing online. Even the online features like the retro games are on these downloads. So as long as you know you won't be playing online it's a meh to those people. I have over 100+ games in my physical library and maybe 1 or 2 even have online capabilities.
Also your account doesn't get banned its the switch console that gets banned. So buy another one and your back in business.
🤣🤣🤣 I love Bob's sponsors they crack me up "YA HUNGARY!"at the same time I'm feeding sorry for the headphone users
It's easy as fuck to get most dumps. There's a huge torrent you can run and just pick and choose the games from the collection
ordered my dumper/cart when announced. finally got mine after many emails. even got the gen2 ethically backing up my stuff is amazing.
Yes i did giggle every time you said dumper. Yes I am 33.
Mad respect to Russ, but y’all gotta be careful when flying this close to the sun.
Also, Smokey and the Bandit are out and it is all about MIG Switch and the Dumper, now! 😜
Nobody is flying too close to the sun. It's the sun who flies too close to you and pretends that it is you who is invading their space
No respect for people who promote russian devices and broadcast war propaganda.

No respect for people who advertise russian products that are part of war propaganda.
9:10 iconic censored scene here. was kind of proud to have such deep memories with it.
I ordered the dumper from their main website the day before they got sued and I still haven't heard anything about my order. They have since closed their previous domain, started a new one and continue to sell more products without fulfilling old orders. I'm not sure if everything is still on preorder, but it stinks that they're still taking people's money without updating old buyers who've been in limbo for months
Finally a review about how horrible the buying process is.
I ordered the Mig Switch bundle (cart and dumper) back in March from the store of the company that actually makes it. It shipped in August and still hasn't arrived. Really hope I actually get mine.
I never knew the dumper could play carts directly on your pc. That makes me want the dumper more then the cart.
Jokes on Nintendo, I already saw his video and it prompted me to buy the dumper. Nintendo can eat it. If my device ever shows up. I am gonna dump all my carts.
Lmao, I did the same. Watched russ vid on it. Twice. Then ordered one. Also because I hate nintendos. Even if I don't use it. I got it as a f u to them.
Watched Russ's video, seen it got taken down.
Will pirate games games i want to try instead of risking the $60, fuck Nintendo
Don't forget to buy second hand carts so nintendo doesn't make bank on new purchases as a final spicy screw you.
@WineLad already planned that. Been hitting up mercari and ebay.
Where do you buy it?
The dumper is a really cool bit of kit. I'd love to see an internal mod so you can just put carts into a steamdeck just for big finger to the big N.
Jesus, the 'YA HUNGRY' nearly blew my ear drums out.
Thanks Bob!
Oh damn that Sonic Mega Collection menu music...haven't heard that in a minute. Lovely :)
That Factor Ad transition was next level haha
Completely agree with your takes. Dumper is awesome for using your own library in an emulator. Cart is probably just going to be the basis for bootleg copies of games when it gets cheaper, like how you can currently buy knockoff Pokémon GBA games.
If you think files are getting corrupted in the transfer you could use the xcopy command in Windows which includes a verify argument to verify the file after it's been copied
Get it from the official site, I got mine like 2 weeks after I ordered the V2. And with the V1, get the 8 game card switcher, put the V1 and another game in, and then just press the button to switch games. That way you don't wear out the cartridge slot
I got a Mig Switch with the dumper and it’s amazing!
People say it works on a Mac but that is not true you need a Windows to take the files and put it on a SD
I need the loudest "yahungry" in the next factor ads
You got me to finally giggle over dumper at the end.
Thank you for that ad transition. Simply made my morning
It's good to know how these things work, though I'm not liable to seek either out at this time. You are right that the dumper is the more interesting.
I was wondering why there was no video 2 weeks ago, and only now did I find out that Bob restricted it for Japan, where I currently am. Thanks for saying it on the podcast, Bob, now I can watch it through a VPN.
I just picked up a dumper from Aliexpress as well. Waiting for it to arrive, but while I was there I found an amiibo thing so I added that... I have the MIGswitch, but still have not even touched it (or tried it out). I think the dumper will nice with the Steam Deck, but we'll see!
I would LOVE to take my entire physical switch game library and put it on a single cart. But we arent in that future yet.
Are you able to connect and manage the dumper on Mac? 🍻
I mean I bought a switch, I bought tears of the kingdom, I'm going to put it on my computer so I can play it in the best way possible
I love your videos and editing style, man.
I have the MiG switch card and Dumper too. And it’s really tricky to get it to switch the games. I have to sometimes try a few times
I wonder how the Steamdeck performance would compare running off the SSD instead of the card, but I imagine you had *reasons* for keeping it on the MIG and micro SD. Great video again ❤️
With steam os in the settings there is an option to just allow all access to mounted drives automatically (desktop mode), just uk privacy reasons its not turned on by default
The dumper play games straight off the cart on a pc is what I want way more, basically turning my pc into a Nintendo switch player would be a dream, just like the epilogue gameboy and future snes operator
Jokes on you... I have the safe search enabled on my browser. Even if I search weird stuffs, nothing weird is going to show up.
Tbh i was struggling paying attention to the beginning of the video fr cause of that banger playing in the background 😭😭
I was in the middle of watching a video about this from Russ of Retro Game Corp, when it literally disappeared and said it had been removed by COPYRIGHT CLAIM with a Japanese text, I googled it and SURPRISE! It translated to NINTENDO. Waiting to see if Russ follows up or says something about it, or attempts to re-upload it, JUST A HEADS-UP, hope you don't get hit. 🤣🤣DOH! OK I posted this BEFORE WATCHING, I should have known you'd be aware of the issue........NEVERMIND.
9:15 THis NSFW Mario Odyssey romhack leave me with many tantalizing questions, Wulffman .
That factor ad segue was beautiful
Damn, I have like this one just for the shoutout to RetroGameCorps and that smooth ad transition...
I was hoping you had the Version 2, but i see you have the same one ive seen everywhere. still pretty good information!
I can attest to the production being slow.
I got my preorder for the v1 card+dumper combo in JANUARY ‘24.
Then there was the v2 upgrade…
Thankfully I was upgraded to a v2 card+dumper in June.
I JUST received my combo in SEPTEMBER!
I actually do worry about these being out in the wild, my local library has switch games to check out, I don't want to get banned (or worse some unsuspecting kid) for just using the game that someone else dumped and is playing online. I know the likelihood of it happening is very low, but the fact it's still possible worries me
That was a heck of a sponsor throw 😂
the card works well and don’t need to delete the file to get it to work again. just click it in and out a couple times and it’s good to go loading other games!!
Or get the v2
No button would make me go insane
i dont think ill even be getting either until the mig switch works like a 3ds flashcart and it can run a custom os to boot from a game folder or have emulators built in.
The latest firmware locks the last game played, that is why you got stuck on the mario odyssey. The way around this is easy, pop the cart out, then pop it back in and as soon as the green light appears pop it back out, give it a second, then pop it back in. That unlocks the cart and you can now switch between games again. This was in response to an earlier issue that was happening when you would put the switch to sleep with the mig switch in and it would flip to a new game when resuming from sleep, crashing the currently opened game.
I wonder if one day it would be possible to replicate what some collections do where when you insert the cartridge it creates separate icons for each game, it would solve the problem of having to cycle the cartridge
I ordered my dumper back in March and still no Dumper... I'd kill to finally get my hands on this. I love playing Breath of the Wild on my Steam Deck, and I'd love to get the rest of my library on it too...
Nintendo is like Rosie O'Donnell, all cutie patootie chub club on the outside but on the inside it's much much darker.
You dont need to erase the nxlock file. Press the migswitch in and out, then in and out again, that will undo the lock
I thought the dumper would be more appealing than the cart itself. Even without the niggles, it just isn't worth risking Nintendo banning the user account, or having to cautiously go offline on the Switch etc.
By using the dumper to play emulation on different hardware sych as the Steam Deck, typically you know it's all safe offline and won't have to worry about Nintendo's firmware updates or account banning.
9:03 forgot to blur ;) though I feel like it won't matter since you display so many 1st party games on switch on the launcher and I'd imagine Nintendo will still have beef with all of this.
Healthy meals direct to your doorstep?! I'll have to factor that into my plans.
