Decent video. I had a legion go and sold it for GOD win 4 which is 2x the price. Double the space. I then returned the GOD and repurchased the go. That screen makes a big difference for the eyes.

Thats one of the best decision i made, because now, i have an ultra mobile pc. I rarely use my gaming laptop and ipad these days, legion go is very capable to do professional work - im a content creator, programmer and an instructor, and nowadays, i just use legion go for everything, in addition to gaming. I dont really mind the battery life since i always work with the device plugged in, and i rarely play games in public places. So to me, poor battery life is nothing compared to all the benefits that the legion go is capable of doing.
Tried the Go, returned it and bought the Ally X. The Ally X and its software is much better than the Go counterparts. Lots of things ASUS has done to make the windows experience better. I still own my LCD Steam Deck. Thought I might miss Steam OS but I don’t. It’s so nice to just download things natively and not have to find the latest work around to make a certain game work, etc. as one must do on the Deck. IMO the ONLY thing the Go has that’s better is the big screen. Unfortunately for FPS games it all falls to shit because of its lack of VRR though…. Love the Ally X. Can’t wait for a version with a bigger screen!

I agree. I bought a powerbank for it and with a powerbank I can play AAA games at maximum performance for a total of 3hrs and 40 minutes. But when I play emulators with the legion go on power saving mode, it clocked a total of 8 hours of uninterrupted gameplay.

I had stopped gaming for like 3 years and now with my LeGo, I'm gaming all the time lol I made it my personal PC and gaming PC. I'm never going back. All we have to do is wait a few more years and these things will make gaming laptops obsolete.
Music producer I was looking for an ultra portable system capable of running Ableton Live 12. The Legion Go does it wonderfully, better than mine msi gs65 stealth thin intel i7 , it's crazy. With a midi controller I have all the ultimate ulta portable VST synths (Sérum, Diva, massive,,,) as well as all the effects imaginable as well as mixing desk, arrangement... I can produce a mastered banger on the plane, ready to be mixed upon arrival my 8 hour flight, perfect. The only thing missing is a stereo audio input, requiring an external sound card to record. And of course a power bank to use it outdoors for more than 3 hours of mixing. Great little machine.

Battery life is the main reason I would not personally invest in a handheld gaming PC. I would rather play my Switch at lower quality visuals for 6-8 hours than play a game with PC quality visuals for an hour. And I'd rather carry around a small gaming laptop with productivity hardware built in (keyboard, mouse, camera) than have to carry those things around as extra attachments. Right now I have a Legion 17" gaming laptop and I have been considering replacing it with a desktop, since I don't use it for work anymore, or a Go, since I do still visit family and friends whom I game with, but the more I hear about the poor battery life and the more I think about having to bring a bag full of extra hardware the more I think about just sticking to another laptop. I know everyone is super excited about these things, but, for myself, I think they are still a good distance away from prime time. Thanks for the video. Super useful.
@@joshuanixon382 Well it's not a problem problem. I still pick up my Legion Go at any chance i get, but after a few hours you will feel the weight. We can also detach the controllers from the screen so that helps too.

i dont think the bad battery is a flaw tbh thats just life we cant expect magic with technology theres always a technical con no matter what device or tech we create it does so much and has so many pros that the flaws are negligable in this device if they had added a bigger battery youd also complain about the weight etc tbh its still amazing regardless of battery life

i have been using my legion go for almost 6 months i origionaly had the steam deck but i sold it to get the legion go. i prefer it to the steam deck i know a lot of people are not a fan of it but for me its great yes windows is sometimes a bit slow at times but other than that its a great device
Yes they sync. I play God of War, Ghost of Tsushima and Forza Horizon 4 on my laptop, then continue the game on my Legion Go when I want to play on a more comfortable environment such as lying on the couch or in bed.
I was very close from getting one and checking the battery size, nah maybe I'll wait for its Ally X treatment. It has everything I've ever wanted from a handheld gaming PC except its battery being a bit too small. Just please don't overpriced it like Ally X.

I've been looking for one of these "handheld pc's". But honestly? I dunno wut to pick. Steam Deck Oled sounds good cuz oled on top of Valve's support and development for Steam OS. If I were to pick a windows one I would install linux in it. The Legion Go seems tge better option due to screen size and the CPU compared to the Steam Deck Oled, but I dunno :/ Thoughts?
I think it could have been the do everything machine. Almost picked this up as a tablet to replace an aging samsung S7 but went for an android one instead because quite a few things let it down as a tablet: a) there are no real cases or accessories for this thing as a tablet, b) (as you mention) there is no proper stylus support, c) its a bit of a chonky beast which ( for me at least) is more restrictive than a thinner tablet with a bigger screen and d) the battery life is just much worse than a tablet. Gaming wise, IMHO there are enough less incentive/emulated games on android for me to get by when I really need the handheld format and for everything else even an entry level gaming laptop blows current handhelds out of the water.
For RTS, you might need an external mouse for better control and a monitor for bigger display. But can it run the game? Dedinitely, since it is a Windows PC.

Im soo waiting for refresh, there's already rumours of Lenovo updating Legion Go. I use ally X now, after Deck Oled. Ally X is great (especially that Im a win power user, deck is hard to go about things, lol), but if Lenovo can manage to slim that tablet down and detachable controllers and add 80Wh battery and vrr (like ally X), damn, Im sold even if they put 1k price on it! Just love this idea of detachable controllers and using it as just a win 11 tablet, but as is its bit to thick and not much battery.

You probably made a good choice as many gaming laptops can run you well over $1200 here In Canada at least, and many are not as powerful as this one.

Got the 1 tb on sale for 680 and it’s incredible. I didnt even have to mess with color settings it looks gorgeous out of the box.

There is also a scroll wheel behing the right controller. Legion go has everything, my major challenge is the weight for long gaming.

Yes they sync. I play God of War, Ghost of Tsushima and Forza Horizon 4 on my laptop, then continue the game on my Legion Go when I want to play on a more comfortable environment such as lying on the couch or in bed.
You could also utilize windows one drive to sync emulated game data.

Yes, the track pad is a really good substitute for a mouse, it functions similarly. I wish it had two pads though, but one is better than none

Just love this idea of detachable controllers and using it as just a win 11 tablet, but as is its bit to thick and not much battery.
This the real all in one do it all, I'm just missing OLED screen of it!
Btw please pop out the kick stand, do not cook, sufficate or weaken it for your desktop usage!! I know it looks cool flat on desk, but still. bro come on!🤦♂💀😂🤓
Battery is absolutely horrid. Wish I would’ve spent a hundred more on a onexplayer 2
