    Thank You for the great review. Only wish I had seen it earlier. I was tossing up between getting a dedicated line trimmer or the Multi Tool Power Head unit with line trimmer attachment. Went with the dedicated trimmer. Pity the Rotocut can't be fitted to all the dedicated line trimmers EGO manufactures. The Blowers are sensational, I hear a Blower / Vac unit might be on the way too. Cheers.

    Great genuine review!! I have the same tool and use it on my couch grass after mowing with the cylinder. It is one solid built piece and my arms ache from using it and need to have a rest and go again. One thing that would make the the best lawn tool ever would be a height adjustment. If only it could sit lower as the base place is not so flat so I don't have to tilt it and could just run it along the lawn at whatever low setting you want. Do you feel that is something you would like improved?

    • @lawnporn

    Hey mate, nice review.
    Using this in lieu of whipper snipper how would it go against rendered walls and decking? Would it scratch or mark them if it hit?

    • @lawnporn
      @lawnporn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You might notice a few marks on my retaining wall. That is from the whipper snipper. The rotor cut (if you don’t smack into the surface hard) will not mark much. The blades are so close they won’t catch. You sort of skip on the surface if that makes sense. The pole of the verandah was already missing the paint as it is rather old.

    The rotocut is an expensive attachment. Despite the expense I bought one. I use it as to cut grass around trees in my orchard. Previously I used the brush cutter attachment which worked very well at cutting back long grass. However operating a brush cutter around a tree is nerve wracking as a mishap can easily happen resulting in a damaged tree. The rotocut by comparison is much more controllable and aspire to use around trees.

    How do you find this compares with the Idech? I notice the Idech has a flat, base. Does the Ego have a flat base that allows the blade to ‘float’ above the grass.

    • @lawnporn
      @lawnporn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t tried the idech so I can’t say. I do like the slight bulge of the Ego as it helps it float so it doesn’t dig in. Super low lawn cuts though you sort of need to andel like I do in the vid.

  • @ofr57

  • @Osbornesupremacy
    @Osbornesupremacy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    TIL Australians refer to string trimmers as whipper snippers. Most people in the US call them Weedwhackers, which is a name brand.

    • @lawnporn
      @lawnporn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers for that. I had heard the term weed whacker but didn’t know it was a brand.

    • @zaineridling
      @zaineridling 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      People in a couple of regions call them weedeaters, which was a brand name for the device sold in the 1970s. Now, most people in the US call them string trimmers, which separates from hedge, brush, etc. trimmers. I think Canadians refer to them as strimmers. 😊
