I am just getting ready to grease my power rotary scissors for the first time. I noticed in the section of your video where you were using the grease gun that it appears you don't need zerk fittings with the small grease gun and the Idech scissors. Am I seeing this correctly? Going to Lowes for a small grease gun, and wondering if I need zerk fittings as well? Silly question probably, but mechanics aren't my strong suite. Thanks!

Man, I just received the scissors and ran them on a Dewalt 60v trimmer….I’ll tell you what. Don’t know if I’m gonna use string anymore…It’s almost therapeutic to trim with this thing. No need to worry about rocks flinging or hitting you in the face. Was able to do my property with a 6 amp battery. Still deciding on whether I’ll get the bigger blades for edging. I won’t use this standard blade to edge-just for trimming grass…Gonna keep this baby greased and sharpened…So glad I pulled the trigger on them.
Yes as you can see when opening the oil case factory uses 2 different greases as well 😊🤙🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾 obviously you can just use one but I want it to be nicely greased! Another thing is the Marayuma grease is $45 shipped and the harbor freight grease is like $3 😂😂😂

Hello, I tried to disassemble and overhaul the entire rotary scissors assembly for the first time this morning -- after I bumped it against the concrete too many times it started to make a scratching sound, so I thought I'd better take it apart and make sure nothing is broken. I tried to degrease the insides over the assembly, but the grease on there is so thick and gooey, it's' taking an awful lot of Zep Citrus Degrease to cut through the old thick grease inside the oil pan. Any recommendations? You don't go into what sort of degreaser to use in your video -- thank you for this video by the way. Do you completely skip any degreasing process? I see you adding more Maruyama grease to the gears, but I don't see you ever try to remove the old grease and dry it first. What step or detail am I missing?
I just keep caking the grease on I use Maruyama grease as well as cheap harbor freight grease… I’ve been running the scissors for 3 years straight just adding grease every 4 uses. (I don’t take it apart anymore just fill in the 3 locations 2 top casing 1 on side) easy peasy 😊🤙🏾
I already fried my 5Ah battery sadly. I think because mine doesn't spin as freely. Is there a way to demo how much force it should take to spin the disk once fully assembled? I'm low key asking you to do a project farm contraption 😁

😂😂😂 it’s not that hard, if you’re cutting your lawn high yeah stick to the strimmer… rotary scissors are really good for matching cutting height with low low cut grass and reel mowing 😊🤙🏾
@@YardBrah It's messy and time consuming. Plus you have to sharpen them regularly and I'm terrible at that. Ryobi sells trimming shears on a rolling caddy. I might go with that for delicate spots and hard to navigate areas.
I believe the type of lubricant you have applied is incorrect as gearbox lube is slightly different. (EP-O gearbox grease is the recommended lube) cheers!

If you add the grease as it comes without grease it should spin freely.
Can we use lithium garage door grease instead? Cheaper and effective?

I used the specific maruayama grease recommended same brand… the harbor freight grease is just additional 😊🤙🏾

Yes but after a major job like the clean up I did there was a lot of grass and mud inside. Had to clean that up 🙌🏾
