    1. You have to move the grass after trimming it.
    2. Circle meets square. Corners aren’t able to be cut.. maybe try coming in vertically? All else fails put some weed killer in those spots.
    3. It will dull, and you have to buy a new head ($300+) or replacement parts. So it’s not cost effective.
    So long as you are ok with all that, then it’s a great option.

    • @gilsthyname256
      @gilsthyname256 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Tbf his grass is really long so moving it isn’t exactly the biggest thing, and some people are willing to sharpen the blades themselves idk how but if some will do a chain on the chainsaw I’m sure this is no different.
      it’s not for me but I can see people using this unique tool

      100000% .. I made a comment before I seen this , and as an owner operator who does excavation and yard maintenance I can 1000% tell you the flinging of grass is what makes your lines cleaner and more appealing.. with these you lose your straight line by restarting after flinging the grass your self , makes small little divits in your lines when lining up driveways

    The biggest advantage I see is that it doesn't shoot hard objects (including the plastic line breaking off which hurts as much as rocks do) at your face all day. Now my face is fully protected with a full face plastic mask (that were popular during COVID) and my ear muffs. Ear muffs protect in two ways. Lower decibels and protect ears from flying objects from the weed whacker. With this I'd only need the ear muffs.

    Weed eating is a timeless joy. This contraption would drive me insane not knowing if I'd cut a spot or not since it doesn't clear the fallen grass

    The biggest issue is it will dull and could/will break at some point. Theres another $300 VS a weed eater you can replace the cord for like $1 per use or whatever a few inches of cord is worth.

    It's cool and it does a good job, BUT. With a string trimmer it kicks it out in the yard and then you can see what you missed and you don't have to move piles to see if you missed anything and also because it throws it ou In the yard you can run over the clippings with the mower.

    Been looking at one of these bit the 400 buck made me question it the getting covered in grass wasn't my issue tho it's the having to restring my weed whip 10 times just to get all the way around the metal fence in my backyard

    My immediate thought when you said it would be inconvenient to mow your entire yard with it was just get a fourwheeler, put a long enough board across the front end of it, and then attach multiple of these to the board.

    My question is: Is it serviceable?
    Can you take it apart, lubricate it and sharpen/replace the blades?
    I'm not the least bit surprised those counter rotating blades make that much noise.
    I would think a little bit of Grease might do it some good especially in the gearbox

    I would like to see this one vs the 400 Milwaukee one and the down side is you have all this extra stuff you have to clean up after its cut

    The thing I like about string as opposed to blades is the string does sling grass out of the way so you can see where you've trimmed. This blade, it almost seems like you have to waste movement to go over it again to make sure you've cut everything.

    • @Cthulhu013
      @Cthulhu013 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Based on what I just saw, if you moved it onto grass, you're cutting it. It did not fail in that respect. Except for edges of course. So if you just trusted the device, you wouldn't need to go over any area twice, other than edges.

    • @Mr.NiceGuy80
      @Mr.NiceGuy80 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Cthulhu013 That definitely makes sense. I have trust issues, which is a whole other thing. So, I prefer the string to clear away the grass and it also spreads it out a little too so it isn't just laying down where it is. Different strokes for different folks. Lol

      @Beardman56 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This attachment is meant to be used on kept up lawns where you're just removing a little bit of grass. String trimmers are much better for overgrowth like this

    I have seen these cutting heads and I wondered how well they worked. Will you do a follow-up on this after a few months of using it? Since it's still a good chunk of money to lay out, I would appreciate an update after you use it a bit. Also I doubt you would even hear that thing if you were using a gas-powered trimmer.
