Rimac Concept_One versus Bugatti Veyron - track and drift action!

Petrol-head and long-time Bugatti Veyron owner Lord Pembroke can’t resist a challenge, so when the chance came to pitch his pride and joy against the latest technological tour de force from Croatia - the Rimac Concept_One electric supercar - he didn’t have to think twice.
The founder of the Wilton Classic & Supercar show - which relaunches this year as the UK’s most prestigious and exclusive annual supercar and classics gathering - took his much-loved Bugatti Veyron on a fact-finding mission to Croatia to meet Mate Rimac.
Rimac is the 28-year-old Croatian tech entrepreneur and auto industry ‘disruptor’, whose new battery-powered supercar is setting new standards for performance in the exotic car realm. It’s currently the fastest-accelerating car in the world.
Pitching the ferocious Veyron - a true ultimate supercar icon - against the electric beast was a challenge Pembroke simply couldn’t turn down, and the latest video in a series of 5 shows the incredible comparison with Pemrboke and Rimac;s official test driver, Miroslav Zrncevic, swapping steeds on-track.
“Looking forward to the technologies driving future performance will be one of the most fascinating elements of the new Wilton Classic & Supercar event,” says Lord Pembroke, “and we wanted to get to know our new friends at Rimac - builders of the world’s fastest accelerating supercar - as part of that journey of discovery.
“It’s fair to say the Wilton team returned from Croatia having been blown away by the technology built into the Concept_One, and awed by the single-minded dedication of the man behind it. Now we can’t wait to share some of that Rimac magic at our new event on June 3-4.”
While the electric Concept_One marks Rimac out as a far-sighted technologist, Mate is first and foremost a petrol-head. The two immediately struck up a great relationship as Lord Pembroke helped Mate fulfil his own long-held ambition of getting behind the wheel of the Veyron. In return The Earl had a rare chance to sample the game-changing immediacy, acceleration, control and handling of the quad-motor ‘tprque-vectored’ Concept_One.
“My Bugatti is astonishingly fast once it’s rolling and the turbo spools up,” says Lord Pembroke, “but the real eye-opener is the instant hit of acceleration from standstill the Rimac delivers - the motors provide all their torque the moment you floor the accelerator. The other thing that really blew me away was the cornering. With individually controlled electric motors powering each wheel, the Rimac has the ultimate cornering system.”
As well as swapping cars for a high-speed blast along Croatia’s famous Adriatic Coast Road, Lord Pembroke’s visit was also an opportunity for the Veyron’s handling to be compared with the Concept_One at the track, and a tour of the factory guided by Rimac himself. Naturally the visit was filmed, and videos are being released currently on the Wilton Classic & Supercar TH-cam Channel. Indeed, the visit culminated with a dawn drag race between the Bugatti Veyron and Rimac Concept_One at a secret location near the Rimac factory in Zagreb - the results of which will be revealed on video soon! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

@@susantoarismunandar "Fastest car" is top speed, and top speed really means piss all, you can't reach the top speed of most of these cars in any racetrack in the world, and if you *can*, you won't have time to decelerate before hitting a corner anyways. If you want to see the actual fastest vehicles in the world, look at nürburgring times and pikes peak times, those are vehicles that are the fastest in practical settings.

The Rimac is an absolute dream! I am a petrol head through and through, but I do like Tesla´s and the Rimac very much! I would take the Rimac over the Veyron any time (as if THAT would happen) :)

Veyron would've been slaughtered but let's not take anything away from it. In a way the Veyron opened the gate to this new automotive age. It represents the best of the last 100 years of automobiles and the Rimac represents a new dawn. This is a fascinating crossroads we are witnessing.
In what way?? McClaren F1 was the first hypercar at 240mph=386kmh. Ferrari and Lamborghini are always the introduction to supercars and exotics for everyone no matter their age. Bentley and Aston Martin showed a supercar can be refined and plush with raw power. Pagani had the outlandish effect already covered with the luxurious yet insanely designed interior and otherworldly exterior. McLaren, Ferrari, and Porsche perfected the hybrid and battery powered supercars. Tesla too. Koenigsegg and Hennessy showed they could one up Bugatti without the backing of a big automaker. I have no hate for the Bugatti but I fail to see what it's done that others hadn't already been doing.

@@philspaghet Because when they were changing drivers a moment earlier, the Earl said he was "going to be made sick", implying that being driven around by the Rimac guy would be so fast/violent that he would get motion sickness and throw up. There is no way to visually see if someone is about to puke, and people are usually reluctant to admit it in the moment, so I think he was asking that to be considerate, possibly not realizing that it was probably just an expression that was meant to be taken a bit as a joke. It was a classy thing to do, I'd imagine causing passengers to throw up, even if it was just because a pro was at the wheel, isn't good press for a company that was (at the time) trying to get their name out there and recognized.

the car is so fast, you simply cant anticipate the g-forces being thrown at you. He is an experienced driver and Miro Zrncevic asked a few times if he was ok. Both excellent drivers (unlike rainman) they know not to fuck around with someone. Both a genuine question and similar answer. He simply was paying attention to this amazing piece of kit, as he described it.

I'm 54 years old. I've seen a lot of cars in my life. I've worked on many many makes and models of cars domestic and foreign. That Rimac Concept One is THE MOST GORGEOUS CAR I HAVE EVER SEEN PERIOD. Inboard per wheel motor (AC w regen) gear reduction with torque vectoring is the ONLY way to really be approaching a newly built electric 4 wheel vehicle. Other designs might be the best choice for a given EV conversion but this I believe is the path to take for Electric cars and truck, just so many advantages over other designs. I Love your car SIR just amazing.

Hypercars are becoming a dime-a-dozen and it's more and more difficult to stand out from the crowd. The Rimac Concept One is a automotive design masterpiece. It's sleek slippery lines with that impossibly low roofline look like nothing else. The Bugatti Veyron was never a looker in my book but I've always admired it as an engineering marvel with no compromise build quality. Just to prove how rare and difficult automotive perfection is Rimac has since come out with the Concept 2. It has nowhere near the singularity of the Concept One. The Rimac Concept Two, like the Bugatti Veyron and Chiron, is just another hypercar.
