If you want to see the actual fastest vehicles in the world, look at nürburgring times and pikes peak times, those are vehicles that are the fastest in practical settings.

The Rimac is an absolute dream! I am a petrol head through and through, but I do like Tesla´s and the Rimac very much! I would take the Rimac over the Veyron any time (as if THAT would happen) :)

Veyron would've been slaughtered but let's not take anything away from it. In a way the Veyron opened the gate to this new automotive age. It represents the best of the last 100 years of automobiles and the Rimac represents a new dawn. This is a fascinating crossroads we are witnessing.
In what way?? McClaren F1 was the first hypercar at 240mph=386kmh. Ferrari and Lamborghini are always the introduction to supercars and exotics for everyone no matter their age. Bentley and Aston Martin showed a supercar can be refined and plush with raw power. Pagani had the outlandish effect already covered with the luxurious yet insanely designed interior and otherworldly exterior. McLaren, Ferrari, and Porsche perfected the hybrid and battery powered supercars. Tesla too. Koenigsegg and Hennessy showed they could one up Bugatti without the backing of a big automaker. I have no hate for the Bugatti but I fail to see what it's done that others hadn't already been doing.

the car is so fast, you simply cant anticipate the g-forces being thrown at you. He is an experienced driver and Miro Zrncevic asked a few times if he was ok. Both excellent drivers (unlike rainman) they know not to fuck around with someone. Both a genuine question and similar answer. He simply was paying attention to this amazing piece of kit, as he described it.
I'm 54 years old. I've seen a lot of cars in my life. I've worked on many many makes and models of cars domestic and foreign. That Rimac Concept One is THE MOST GORGEOUS CAR I HAVE EVER SEEN PERIOD. Inboard per wheel motor (AC w regen) gear reduction with torque vectoring is the ONLY way to really be approaching a newly built electric 4 wheel vehicle. Other designs might be the best choice for a given EV conversion but this I believe is the path to take for Electric cars and truck, just so many advantages over other designs. I Love your car SIR just amazing.
@@philspaghet Because when they were changing drivers a moment earlier, the Earl said he was "going to be made sick", implying that being driven around by the Rimac guy would be so fast/violent that he would get motion sickness and throw up. There is no way to visually see if someone is about to puke, and people are usually reluctant to admit it in the moment, so I think he was asking that to be considerate, possibly not realizing that it was probably just an expression that was meant to be taken a bit as a joke. It was a classy thing to do, I'd imagine causing passengers to throw up, even if it was just because a pro was at the wheel, isn't good press for a company that was (at the time) trying to get their name out there and recognized.

Hypercars are becoming a dime-a-dozen and it's more and more difficult to stand out from the crowd. The Rimac Concept One is a automotive design masterpiece. It's sleek slippery lines with that impossibly low roofline look like nothing else. The Bugatti Veyron was never a looker in my book but I've always admired it as an engineering marvel with no compromise build quality. Just to prove how rare and difficult automotive perfection is Rimac has since come out with the Concept 2. It has nowhere near the singularity of the Concept One. The Rimac Concept Two, like the Bugatti Veyron and Chiron, is just another hypercar.
This Electric Automobile is The Future Today. Nice! Awsome Power and Style. Nothing compares to it At any price. Would love a test drive even as a co-pilot.
It is unfair comparison, because Veyron is 10 years older than Concept_One. For example, fair race would be between Bugatti Chiron and Rimac Concept_S.
You have point there, but you could also say Rimac is also first of its kind and Veyron is (close to) last of its kind. Sure it uses some knowhow from Veyron, and it does not start from "zero" but many elements of modern EVs are pioneer things at this level. And in the end, just by having car from Croatia compared with (even) 10yr old Bugatti means a lot by itself.
The Chiron is the last pure performance ICE that the world will see. ICE technology had its run. Electric performance cars barely are in their infancy. In 10 years it will be probably a Chiron equivalent with 3000hp and some motors of the size of a melon. Electric motors can't be beat in HP and torque. All they need is R&D in batteries and inverters.
Even though no one of us will ever be driving a rimac I still think this car draws a lot of attention the right way towards electric cars. So you could say this car will save our Planet

The instant torque blows your mind. But I will always love the internal combustion engined cars more. They're just more beautiful in some way.
The best part about electric cars is that anybody can build them. Petrol engine cars are much more difficult and need much higher engineering. You cannot really make a petrol engine yourself, you have to buy one, you have buy the transmission, and than the chassis is all yours. E-Cars have to be demystified. Your washing machine has the electrical engines that could power an e-car. Lithium batteries you can buy yourself. I think that we will have many e-cars producers in 5-10 years, and Tesla will lead the herd. Rimac will be just like Pagani or Koeningsegg.
how long will the battery last? I mean a car like that must consume immense amounts of energy. So how long can you drive it for before recharging. Talking more about a highway drive, 100-150km/h speeds. can it even last 100km? if it can't drive over 200km with one recharge, it's basically unusable for moving between big cities.
I've read up to 350 miles in "normal" driving.. in Metric that's um... let me see.. over 550 km. and that's at 60 mph (what you metric nuts call 100 kph which makes it sound faster but isn't. ) This ain't no Chevy Bolt that "only" gets 220 miles (380+ km. ) Had a Dodge truck with an 18 gallon tank that got 6 mpg, that's only about 100 miles, 170+ Km... I carried two five gallon Jerry cans of fuel with me at all times just in case. Current truck has 30 gallon tank and gets 20 mpg, for 600 miles ( over 950 KM) and with two 5 gallon cans that adds another 200, for a grand total of 800 miles 1280+ KM.. if you're THAT far from a gas station you're probably not on this planet.
Back in the day people would pop in a cassette tape and listen to an engine roar. The sound is part of the experience. Let's she how many customers that can afford these vehicles pay for it.
That's a beautiful car. Instant torque controlling 4 wheels independently from an electric hyper car beats any hyper car with a internal combustion engine, no matter what kind of torque vectoring it has.
I know that electric cars is the only way forward but still, for the same money I'd take the Veyron just for the sound. The Rimac is a brilliant piece of engineering, it is faster, it crushes the Veyron but that W16 turbocharged sound is just amazing. But I'm so lucky I don't have to choose between cars like these. Sometimes I think I'm better of than Jay Leno, I don't have to think about what I'm going to drive to work tomorrow.
Nice to see the rimac actually going round a corner. Everyone just focuses on that straight line speed.

The track, Raceland Adrenalina is based 29.1 km away from the Rimac facility by car, and is across the border in Slovenia.

how long will the battery last? I mean a car like that must consume immense amounts of energy. So how long can you drive it for before recharging. Talking more about a highway drive, 100-150km/h speeds. can it even last 100km? if it can't drive over 200km with one recharge, it's basically unusable for moving between big cities.
I've read up to 350 miles in "normal" driving.. in Metric that's um... let me see.. over 550 km. and that's at 60 mph (what you metric nuts call 100 kph which makes it sound faster but isn't. ) This ain't no Chevy Bolt that "only" gets 220 miles (380+ km. ) Had a Dodge truck with an 18 gallon tank that got 6 mpg, that's only about 100 miles, 170+ Km... I carried two five gallon Jerry cans of fuel with me at all times just in case. Current truck has 30 gallon tank and gets 20 mpg, for 600 miles ( over 950 KM) and with two 5 gallon cans that adds another 200, for a grand total of 800 miles 1280+ KM.. if you're THAT far from a gas station you're probably not on this planet.

That's a beautiful car. Instant torque controlling 4 wheels independently from an electric hyper car beats any hyper car with a internal combustion engine, no matter what kind of torque vectoring it has.

I know that electric cars is the only way forward but still, for the same money I'd take the Veyron just for the sound. The Rimac is a brilliant piece of engineering, it is faster, it crushes the Veyron but that W16 turbocharged sound is just amazing. But I'm so lucky I don't have to choose between cars like these. Sometimes I think I'm better of than Jay Leno, I don't have to think about what I'm going to drive to work tomorrow.
