I avoided most of these problems by having an LDR first then I came here and fell in love with the place. Been here a couple yrs and I don't worry about shit. Do I concern myself with the issue? Yes. But I don't worry about shit. You most definitely need to do your research and make good decisions or you'll be fucked over here. My girl works. Her family has their own money and never ask me for anything. We had an LDR for nearly 5yrs before we met. I had to take care of my parents so I couldn't come to the Philippines. But over that time we got to know each other and the family members. She and my mother were so close. We all video chat everyday. She would call my parents everyday after we talked. Before my mother passed she said boy take your ass to the Philippines. That woman is very special and you'll never find another one like her. So I did as mama said and I'm still here.

I retired at 62, divorced. Went to Thailand until 65, came back to the US, enrolled in Medicare. Bags are packed and 90 day Vietnam visa in hand. I’ll be in country in August. Some people are natural worries, I’m one of them, but it doesn’t stop me from living. Best thing I did for myself was to adapt and overcome, not get involved with a woman and live in the presence. I certainly won’t give up my Medicare and self insure when abroad. Thanks for the blog, love your channel and topics ❤

Your happiness is your own responsibility. I had a moment when my plane first lifted off for the Philippines. "What the F*** am I doing?" That lasted about 30 seconds, then my inner voice answered,"I'm doing what I want, where I want, when I want the rest of my life."

Good talk Calvin. If you worry a lot you might try this. When ever a fear thought enters your head, match it with a thought of something your grateful for. Do this day in and day out and after awhile you're likely to find your fearful thoughts become less severe and less frequent. Our peace and happiness more than anything depends on what's going on between our ears.

Calvin you are spot on again these men just need to go back home and worry back home how they are going to make it. most of these guys don't even go to the doctor in the states using their Medicare. my advice is live and let learn

I'm an American ex-pat here in the Philippines. I'm 70. If I get sick and die now, I don't care. It's about time anyway. I'm not 20 or 30 or 40 or even 50. I'm close to death. So, I don't worry about my health care. I worry about not being a burden to my Filipina wife. Second, I don't ask if my Filipina loves me or not. In my case, I believe she does. If she doesn't, then all I have to say is that I love the way she treats me and our children. She really takes care of our family. As far as I'm concerned, love takes a remote second place. But, I do love her a great deal. She proves her love to me and our family by being a good mother, which she most definitely is.

Normally, at a time when the average male would be working a job. In other words, outside of drinking and chasing women, they don't have any constructive hobbies. This one of the reasons why their health is in question.

You bring a great deal of insight into living in the Philippines. I've been with and married Filipinas since I was 23 (via the Navy). I can see the downside of living in the Philippines. I've been there a few times and I would not think of moving there unless I could spend about 4-6 months seeing if the daily life is going to work for me. Of course, if you have substantial funds, the risk of making that life changing decision is not as great as someone who has limited funds. If it doesn't work you can move somewhere else. But if you are stranded there because of your financial situation, it could be a bitter pill to swallow.

However, everyone is different or they may be older and can't find women like they could find in the Philippines. Moving from one country to another country is a big step! Been wanting to and thinking about it for a few years. Planning on it actually but the healthcare which I really need is the scary part and really only reason I haven't already done it. Finances are not a problem until you throw potential healthcare costs into the mix. I'm not coming for love just a quite, slower and more affordable life than can be had in the US. And the climate / beaches of course. Healthcare with pre existing conditions is the scary thing but, I have dodged so many bullets and by all rights shoulda been gone long ago. Was ready to call it quits after 11 plus years of dialysis. What I mean is I'm prepared for and ready to go any time. If you are worried about hacking it here, you will fail far faster in the US. It blows my mind that healthcare insurance would be a linch pin in a decision to move abroad. If it is, then living abroad is not for you. Live til you die here, or wait to die in the US. Choose wisely.

Some people make decisions on a whim without having a game plan, and that’s their problem. Not smart thinking. And maybe things go perfectly fine. Most the time it doesn’t.
Some guys have a game plan, and although this is the smarter path, sometimes it doesn’t work out, but most the time it does.
So, if you’re going to make a huge life change and move abroad, have a good game plan and stick to it.
I’ve got a gf and daughter in the Philippines, and I have an exact plan that I want to achieve before I commit there permanently. I don’t want it to fail, so when I’m perfectly ready, I’ll commit to being there on a more regular basis.

"even if you had all the data you needed to make a decision about anything, the human mind, in the end, when it's time to decide, makes a snap decision." - Alan Watts lol. No matter how much you think, mull, and ruminate about that decision. In the end, you might as well roll a pair of dice. I think this aligns with Robert Sapolsky's latest book Determined. Epigenetics and a lot more than just YOU, is making that decision. Yep, even what happened to your parents before you were born, is information, that was trnsferred to you by your parents. And, everything else. Sorry, we don't have free will. We just act like we do, and that may be the only thing we can do. Interesting.

When 70 years old were 25 year old would he marry 70 years old woman unless money wasn’t involve . Do what you want but do not have false dream . She there for money you there for ???? Only you can answer . How can you live like a king on 1500.00 month is false . But life is life … At least you telling truth . But each man has to make the decision to stay or come home .. But some has sold everything to move there and can not go home his income now force him to keep living that life . Sold his house in US A and built one in her country . Now the house stay there no selling or chance not very good . And it he sell it sell at a lost . Not buy house in USA . Mem better listen to this . He giving good advice . Not downing that country . Can't undo something you did. Can't stress too much. Learn from it and move forward. Too many people live in the past. Or in the future. And they completely miss the now. Make a plan for the future. Adjust as needed, remember the past. Learn from it. But live in the now. If you don't live now then the future will never come.

You know I thrived on stress in my 20's and 30's by the time I could retire from the Military, I had seen it all and had well over a decade of time as a Tank Platoon Sergeant.
So I was raised on having a Plan and then a plan A, B and C. So yes I overplan everything, but there is literally nothing that I cannot overcome as far as "Bad Luck" goes.
I planned my finaces out so carefully I could retire at 55 with no debt and a "Million Dollar" retirement.
So laser focus is good, you just need to turn it off once in a while.

Living in NCR due ro wifes previous professional position and stepdaughters colllge dont help. Used to working, being busy and riding motorcycle all over. Big adjustments and not sure dor the best. Especially healthcare ag I get older (wife is not young either) and she'd have helthcare in us also through my Va (Champ Va). Id probably have us leave tomorrow if it was financially feasable to fo back and set up a household and get vehicles and all that comes with that.

Each couple I saw they weren't talking at dinner and her body was turned at an angle away from him. I dated one filipina that is 40, I'm 53. We fit and we're having a blast!!! The signs you said to look for were there. She literally handcuffed me. We are still communicating and making plans to see each other again.

Who else is tired of waiting for 3/4 of a video to get the main point and then you are disappointed.
