I don’t care what anyone says, if there is a 25+ year age gap, she started dating you for a better life, if you are lucky, she will develop feelings for you based on how you treat her. At the end of the day, if both are happy, does “true love” even matter? Happiness is more important than love, when we leave this Earth she is going to find someone else anyways, enjoy and be happy while you have your turn and don’t be trying to impress her and the family with money. We're 9 years married and whenever we go out with my family for a meal and he tries to pay for the bill, he receives the same look from ALL of my brothers!! My brothers hate to be 'stereotyped' as the Filipino family who wanted free meals from the foreigner, which unfortunately we often see.

When you buy a house and lot for your Filipina, that will basically go to her no matter what happens later in your relationship. So if your relationship goes bad (she cheats on you, has another guy on the side, etc.) you will take the hit financially and she will be the winner. In general, whether you immediately realize it or not, when you come to the Philippines you will always be the one doing all of the spending for everything. There is never any rest or day off from this reality and no one will help you if the time comes that you begin to run out of money. So please keep this in mind and plan and make decisions accordingly.

Great subject matter. It really makes you wonder if getting a small one bedroom apartment, maid to come weekly, get a older lady to cook 2 meals a day and pay for 3 ladies of the night per month and I wonder if it would be cheaper than one girl friend?

When a woman tells you a "story" it is a request for help and money. SIMPLE rule, listen and say nothing about the story except "I'm sorry to hear this.", ask nothing unless you will help because if you ask questions you will be obligated to do something. Do not get emotionally invested unless you dare to care.

Find someone within 15 years unless you are only in it for fun. It matters. Age is just a number but it matters when marrying. And yes, there are exceptions to the rules but you are all not it. It's impossible.
Find a lady with a decent education and job... With no kids. You come 8,000 miles and don't screen women. You dont want western women but date, marry and fall in love with what most say they are running from.
There are many wonderful single mothers here... but better not married and without children unless adults because daddy drama and Lola issues are real if you are unlucky.
Again, date. Have fun. But slow down and you will find the woman of your dreams and it wont be settling. NOT every Filipina you meet has a sob story. If thats the case you are not even living to your fullest potential.
Full disclosure, I am an African American, my Lola is Chinese Filipina/African American which brought me back to Mindinao after college/university, U.S Army etc almost 15 years ago ... (now in Cebu). I'm 52, Married 8 years... 3 kids... a wandering eye like most men... But my children and family come first. I'm no Saint but ... Working on it.
I'm also not attacking anyone, but so many men can do better here but need to get the sex, games and bars/clubs out of their systems before going into a real relationship. Coming to the Philippines for the average expat is another trip into adulthood and probably more fulfilling sexually than their 18-26 years. So. Enjoy it. Get it out of your system respectfully and then look for marriage or you'll only hurt good women and create more of what you are running from.
By respectfully I mean with a lady just looking for fun. You dont have to lie. Its like every big city all over the world, there are good, bad and openminded women everywhere.
The biggest Red Flag is not the lady who asks for nothing but the Woman that only "TAKES MONEY but doesn't TAKE ADVICE". If any woman, Filipina or otherwise can't learn and take your good advice, leave her. She just wants your money.

2 million pesos would pay to rent a place at $350 a month for 7 to 8 years pretty easily that would always be an alternative with no great commitment Until you see if the relationship is going to work out
I see it as the cost of having the life you dreamed of with a woman if she provides you the things you needed or lacked in your past relationships. This is why we do for them. They have earned it through their actions of delivering peace and understanding.

I have never felt so appreciated by a woman in my life for loving her unconditionally. I send my LDR a hundred dollars a month because I know that it's a lot of money to her. She works and makes 200 PHP a day so for working 7 days a week she doesn't even make but about a hundred dollars a month. I will be boots on the ground in less than a month living full time in Leyte province. We already secured a 2 bedroom apartment for 120 USD a month. I trust this woman completely. I know that she loves me and I know that I am the only one she's talking to. I had many choices out of about 8 different Filipina and I know that I chose the right one. She's never been married and has a 9 year old son. Her partner of 6 years died at 78 years old and she hasn't been with anyone else physically since his passing. We video chat for at least 8 hours a day and she's shown me Everytime a guy has tried to DM her.
