      @@officialyasir I disagree. I've owned 4 Mazdas. While you might be right that a few years ago their infotainment wasn't great, it's great now. It's extremely easy to use. Mazda is great at helping the vehicle become one with the driver. It's so effortless and not distracting after you start using it for a few days. After using a car like this, you notice just how distracting touch screens are in other cars on the road.

      @@NiceBowser I bet you their next gen cars will be all touch screens. The problem isn’t that all touch screens are distracting, it’s that poorly designed UI and unresponsive screens is what causes issues. Mazda is just pushing their marketing bs until they shift to all touchscreens.

      @@NiceBowser Exact same experience for me. I drive in a 2020 Mazda 3 hatchback. At first I thought the lack of a touchscreen would be a downside, but now I don't want to go back. The infotainment system is simple and effective. There's not many buttons, so after a few times you start remembering the layout. It's a well thought out car.

      before 2012 majority of mazda cars were prone to rust in colder climate. 3 winters and rust started popping whenever water stayed for prolonged periods of time. Or around the wheels, where salt that was used on roads to melt the ice was picked up just by daily driving. i've even seen 2015-2016 sedans with some rust spots.
      In warmer climate ? go for mazda. in colder climate ? check 5 times if the body was zinc-galvanized or the history if it wasn't in accident or scratched.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wow more power than 186? It’s a subcompact and every reviewer including this guy say the power is more than adequate and in fact it’s the highest horsepower of any subcompact. But as you mention the turbo is available for you. But this class of car, like the Honda HR-V, are not made to be fast cars. You get enough to pass and merge onto highway but the mission is to get close to 40mpg. Sounds like you would be better served getting a Mustang Shelby GT-350 or a Corvette. So why are you wanting more power here? Are you in the market or just remarking on your experience?

    Quick fix for your heads up display + sun glasses: get a pair of non-polarized sun glasses for your car (I just use a pair of UVEX safety glasses as they are dirt cheap and usually don't have polarization). Polarization is what is filtering out the reflected light from your HUD. Keep your polarized glasses around for doing outdoorsy stuff as you definitely need them there, but otherwise polarization isn't a one size fits all solution.

    This and the Mazda3 have me torn; I like both for different reasons. The Bose audio is a must but the Premium trim is a bit expensive for me on either car. Nice tip about the chime deactivation and why to not get AWD! I wouldn’t mind having it on the Turbo, but for the regular engine in both the Mazda3 and CX-30 FWD feels more nimble and is more efficient. All that said, I am still tempted by the Mazda6 Touring for slightly less money because it’s just such a good and overlooked car, but then my mind wanders to Camry Hybrid LE (52 mpg!) for the same price. I’m all mixed up.

      @@2004cyrus Yes I am eagerly awaiting the Mazda6 replacement. RWD and an inline 6 engine with Mazda’s driving dynamics and interior luxury sounds amazing, but also sounds like it will start above $30k. And there will be a next-gen CX-5 based on that platform. I’m actually leaning more towards the current CX-5 now if not a clean 2018 Mazda3. My fiancée has one and it’s fantastic. I’ve had 4 Mazda3’s so maybe it’s time for a bit of a change. I currently have a Golf wagon and the CX-5 would have even more cargo room and be more fun to drive.

      @@mindspinn311 hey Alex! I have had 5 Mazda’s and truly enjoyed each one of them! I returned a 16’ Mazda 3 that I leased and came super close to leasing a CX-5 but they all had hail damage and I didn’t want to wait or schedule repairs. So I drove to the VW store near me and picked up a freshly delivered 19’ Tiguan new at that time. I have had a couple Jetta’s. They were great. But I want to travel more and I have since financing the Tiguan. It swallows lots of cargo of course and that’s the benefit over the Mazda 3 and even the CX-5 which doesn’t have near the cargo capacity. The Tiguan ride is much smoother and more comfortable as opposed to the nimble and sportier feeling CX-5. I still love Mazda products tho I can’t wait for the refreshes and redesigns coming. Tbh I never wanted a crossover but do to back surgery when I was 33 it’s hard to get in & out of the Mazda 3 which sits lower. That’s what made me consider driving the crossovers. I feel like a soccer mom sometimes but I can get into and out of the Mazda CX-5 and my Tiguan without stressing or hurting my spine. So for that I’m grateful too. And the travel ability is just a bonus with all the crap I can store in the Tiguan. I fold down the second row and have so much area to haul ice chests and everything I need to drive to California from my home in Oklahoma. We get hail storms often in the spring and that’s what destroyed the cars at the Mazda dealer. That was in April of 19’. My Tiguan will be 2 years old in 3 week. I really like it and I can’t decide if I’ll go with another Volkswagen in a year or a new Mazda. I do like the VW Atlas Cross Sport too! I also know that Mazda is redesigning the CX-9 too! The dealer told me that it will be made larger. Customers and potential buyers complained and commented to Mazda that they choose larger alternatives like the Telluride and Palisade and so on. The Mazda CX-9 is cramped inside according to a lot of folks. How have you liked your VW Golf?

    Do you really mean it when you say that this car resembles you to your former GTI? I actually own a Fiesta ST and there is the possibility that I will have to sell it because I will need higher ground clearance where I will move to... Do you think the CX-30, knowing that it's a different type of car, will be anyway fun to drive? That's my main concern.

    I'm still disappointed in the radar cruise control, at least for my 2020 Mazda 3. It always feels the need to downshift one or two gears. It's too jerky under braking and acceleration. It doesn't anticipate well enough, so it always brakes harder than it needs to.

    Good they got rid of cylinder deactivation, but I still wonder about the rear suspension. Wouldn't it result in a lot of bumpy riding on poor roads? Might be quieter with 17-inch tires. I would lower the tire pressure for a smoother, softer ride.

    • @cusebike5391

      Our roads are terrible. The torsion beam handles them just fine. If we weren't told it was a torsion beam, we wouldn't notice. When something is overhyped, we start to hear, see, feel & think something is noticeably inferior when it's not. The beam is fine for 99% of normal driving.

      @@cusebike5391 Thanks for that. I can't recall which one, but at least one reviewer on TH-cam commented that he was surprised at how absorbant the torsion beam was in the CX30, even though it's a torsion beam, so you're not alone. That's a biggy for me. Now to determine which year doesn't have cylinder deactivation and comes with 17-inch tires. I absolutely don't want to bigger tires.

    $20k for a premium CX-30 is a really good deal! Here in northeast Florida, you can't find one for less than $29k but you can find CX-5 grand touring reserves for $34. I even got an out the door offer for $32k. So I would rather get a CX-5 over a CX-30 for the same price and trim level any day. Because it is bigger and getting slightly more features. The people addicted to luxury brands like BMW, Mercedes etc.. will be paying a little more for their leasemobile in the future since Mazda proved they can chase them for interior quality. They will eventually up their game and set the bar even higher, but the costs for doing so will rise, (especially in a world hellbent on getting away from petroleum and byproducts) and that extra will be tacked on to the MSRP. To me the current Mazda products look like the bodies were done by an Italian design house, the interior done in Scandinavian minimalist with German quality. Consider all that has a Japanese mainstream price and predicted reliability, just a win all around.

      I'll be getting a Mazda 3 turbo hatch in the premium trim just as soon as I sell my 2016 GTI.
