The "Austrians hate Germany" thing is a running gag (at least that has always been my experience). That's why people keep grinning/laughing after saying it and can't name a reason why they hate it except for "Austria's better". It stems from Austria being compared to Germany a lot and since we are similar to Southern Germany, we usually say "Austria is better than Germany, but some parts of Germany are alright I guess". I don't think I have ever met an Austrian who actually hates Germany.

@@michaelsuarez1126 It has more to do with the two countries' similarities (especially the language). Because of them, Austria is often compared to Germany. I have also heard people of other countries ask why we're our own country and not a part of Germany, which can feel pretty bad, especially because Austrians don't identify as Germans. So the situation kind of encourages a little rivalry, especially for Austrians who aren't represented as often. But it's not really meant to be mean-spirited or anything. Like I said, it's more of a running gag.
But I guess the Anschluss did influence the world's view of Austria today, and it is one reason why it's often compared to Germany. And you're right, unfortunately many Austrians did approve at the time because of Austria's new political situation after WW1. But, like I said, it's more complicated than that, because I don't know any Austrians who want to join with Germany now (although I have seen a few TH-cam comments about it, which is weird, because I'm pretty sure it's still illegal) and it is still a running gag, so it doesn't directly influence it.

But it´s more of a joke, no one hates each other. And also Austria and Germany has so many different regions and individuals, so it´s more based on a "German sterotype" that Austrians "don´t like".

Only after that did Allah give the order to battle them and that was AFTER they left Makkah to go to madinah .
Also isis don’t follow the hadith correctly at all, they have no basis for interpretation of the hadith which caused them to act without knowledge. Because if they did have knowledge, they would know that there is a hadith which the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned against these kind of people (isis and jihadis) .
As for Saudi Arabia, they have been against these terrorists for years. They actually fight against them.
If isis and the other jihadis even knew what the word “jihad “ even means instead of acting upon ignorance, the world would be a better place .
Jihad means to strive (so that’s striving in prayer , charity , hajj , good deed) . That’s where the misconception happens

i will agree that a lot of times governments are not necessarily good representatives of their people but the issues surrounding Saudi (and other islamic states) is more linked to violations of human rights, no freedom of the press, no separation between church and state, imprisonment or death penalty for gay people etc...
It’s annoying to hear “it’s not real muslims” when in reality it is and it’s the majority of them.
That’s like when people say “Real men don’t rape” yes tf they do and they need to be called out so that the issues surrounding that particular community/group can be addressed and improved.
By saying, “it’s not real ones” they are just ignoring the cultural issue surrounding these communities and countries which makes it impossible to find common ground with them.

At that point we would also have to excuse the crusades and say that those were not true christians but we don’t do that. Otherwise there would be no room for improvement.

And I'll tell you why most Austrians say that they don't dislike anyone: because it's the mere truth. Austria is one of the most diverse countries in the world, we have masses of people from all parts of the world immigrating every single year. From Romanians to Chinese and African people. If you grow up in a multicultural country you have no reason to hate on anyone because your closest friends and colleagues are all very likely to be from another country to begin with.
Maybe, instead of forcing your pessimistic ideologies on others, you could at least TRY to take the fact that not every single human being out there is filled with hate into consideration.

I am Austrian, born to an English mother and Austrian father so luckily can speak English and German. I speak English at home to my mother and because my father is trying to become fluent in English, I speak a mix of English and German to him. Personally I don’t have a country that I hate, However I thought England’s countryside was beautiful when I visited my grandma (my mother’s mother) who lives in Cumbria.
