Bonjour! Thank you for an excellent video! France offers so much more than America. The sense of community, perhaps because there are plazas, inviting dialogue?. America has processed food with additives causing a change in metabolism, which we did not feel when we were in Ukraine, Poland, and Estonia last year. I am a retired American educator. We helped a new school open in Lviv, then spent 6 weeks in Krakow; we're in Tallinn for a month before heading back to Oregon. My wife and I sold our Portland condo and we are moving to France in January. Living in France has several significant advantages: climate, healthcare, culture, and infrastructure. Merci!! Yeah sure…French usually think their country is one of the worst actually. We constantly raging about what’s wrong and we forget about what’s good. A lot of people, not just French don’t usually like Americans because they think they’re arrogants and always want to give lessons to the world about their definition of liberty.
French guy here, I genuinely don't know why some of us hate americans, and why some americans hate us. I am fine with americans, just like everybody else, I only judge people by how they act, not by their nationality. And personally, I would like to go to America - it's a pretty country in my opinion.
All these answers are way too kind to be representative XD BTW, greetings from a French knowing a bit about USA and people living there... and quite more about French people by being surrounded. Very few French person hate USA, but almost everyone is very critical about systemic flaws, no matter where they it happen. And as we tend to speak our mind with few filters, and as US people tend to restrain such behavior in order to avoid relational tensions, it can seem to their sensibility that we are hateful. But to be fair the more we know and care about a country the more we address strong critics... and the country we know, care and critic the most is France itself. We may hate what France becomes, and be harsher about it than you'll ever hear us be harsh about USA or any other country, but we still love our land very much. Knowing all that it would be very French to say to American people (and pretty hard for them to hear without feeling aggressed...) : if you believe we hate USA it's a misunderstanding coming from our bluntness meeting your susceptibility. If we are too blunt on your soil explain us how to adapt, but if you're too susceptible on our soil, tune it down, hear the criticism without taking it for yourself because it is not, and do something about what really causes it if you want us to shut up (and endure us finding an other subject to criticize, cause we are arshols and will keep being a pain XD ). Soon it will be election day in USA, if what we usually say against USA matters to you it's a very good time to make us shut up about your pathetic health care, your overpriced and ineffective education system, your mass shootings because of your laws only satisfying gun's lobbies, bigotry leading your to cruel birth control laws against women human rights, etc, etc, etc. We also got to take care about a lot of issues here, but you are the ones having to vote next month (plus we already have Universal healthcare, free schools, gun control, abortion right written in the constitution...). ;) I know I know, if it wasn't for USA we would all speak German... but debarking in Normandy you freed a bunch of irritating mouths, now deal with it. Much love to you American friends, no matter what.

After that, most people that don't go into literature courses that involve English will start forgetting how to speak it very quickly 😂
@@Sen-ki-For me it was quite the opposite. Started to learn english at 8yo in middle school. At 22 I could not speak english. Now I use english more than french. I learned travelling and living abroad. English classes in french schools are shet.
We dont hate unitedstatians, some hate US goverment imperialist policies but most of french people are kind and curious with them.
every country is imperialistic when they are at the top of the food chain. It's how they maintain growth until inevitable collapse.
France had it's turn and did the same shit 1700's-1800's with it's 80+ colonies across Africa, lebenon, ect.
we didn't make the rules of the game and neither did you that's just how the game is played and it'll never change sorry.

The reason a lot of french ppl rejected the interview i think is linked to the recent tik tok trends there that has been with street interviews especially in Chatelet (the place you're filmin in), some interviewers asks dumb question for tik tok stats and it's been a trend for like recent years in particular on tik tok, so i think that is why some of them act cold. But i guess this recent trend with street interviews is not only limited to France, you can see this phenomenon internationally on the internet
Great video. Very impressive language skills! Loved hearing what people have to say about Americans. I'm in Pimsleur French 4 right now. It's been ok for me because I studied 8 years of French more than 40 years ago. But mon mari - oh-la-la. It's a difficult program for someone who has zero familiarity with the language. Thanks again for the "people on the street" interviews!
I truly loved the guy that was into fashion that could appreciate how free we are in the US when it come to this, we don’t care what others are wearing, like he said you could be wearing a trash bag.
Merci!! Dean and Cindy.
Hahaha you left that girl hanging for so long
This is the 1st video i see... FOLLOW!
I would have prefered you to not put the subtitles because I´m learning french so I prefer to put french subtitles there. Thank you, great video :) But also i understand because you talked in different languages... FYI I´m learning my third languange because i would love to be poliglot :)
People have to understand that french and american people are FAMILY : sometimes you love each other but sometimles you like to fight, but at the end, we're family 🙂
I'm French, and I love the US and American people. I love their culture, traditions and creativity in music and arts in general. And my family and friends do too. I don't know why people think we hate Americans, we really don't ☺
Merci pour votre honnêteté et votre expérience.
The French i guess they do not hate: they maybe don't care... maybe sometimes we forget about your existence. What's wrong with that.
But for having been there, i know you're kind.
So, i'd say your kindness is underrated.
Well keep on
C'est merveilleux that so many gens francais think Americans are friendly and warm❤
Loooool the Serbian girl French is PERFECT!!! Gros mitho 😂😂😂😂
People in Europe are open-minded and have no fear. They can freely talk about who they are and what they do in life.

I AM ENJOYING THIS SO MUCH!!
Bro great video !!
French here, and I admire American fitness culture. But I feel sorry when I hear about your tuition fees 💸
Bonne video mon reuf
ça reste une minorité.
I dont think we're rude as people say, probably that some are when they're in a mad mood or so... but id say that overall speaking our language won't make us go crazy/surprised, at least personally. We're just used to hear people speak french with different accents as there are tons of immigrants/tourists in France 😅 Also, most people hardly speak any other language than french
Why American People hate French?
I think it's because of Irak and we (french) said no to do war with them so yeah now we are called like "coward" you know but maybe not just a guess and I think they know for mostly just Parisian and not really the other part of the France and yeah to be honest (as a French here) Parisian are a bit to cold with people and busy all the time so yeah maybe (if any American can explain if im wrong or not i wanna know too why we are "hated" ?)
As an American, I love France and the French. Many people here are ignorant however
It’s mostly bc of how Parisians treat people that we associate it with all of France bc nobody really goes to anywhere outside of Paris usually
I myself love the French
We don't. Well, I don't. I hope to live there one day. but the old stereotypes about the French being cowards because of WW II and Iraq are still around. I would ignore that.
Wow, dude, I am American, speak French presque courrament, you're AWESOME....serb, arab, Italian, german, japanese, eglish...amazing.
Impressionnante maîtrise des interviews.
He's complaining about the fact that french people don't accept how he's dressed up... But man, you live in the capital city of fashion ! Why are you telling me that in the US they will accept more...
Is it possible they only notice the loud Americans and the quiet ones slip by undetected?

The Serbian girl said she didn't speak good French ?!? I would love to speak Serbian the way she speaks French !
French here, we don't hate you, we hate that you think you are the greatest country in the world, cause that's us obviously XD
Yeah sure…French usually think their country is one of the worst actually. We constantly raging about what’s wrong and we forget about what’s good. A lot of people, not just French don’t usually like Americans because they think they’re arrogants and always want to give lessons to the world about their definition of liberty.
J'adore ...
French is an imperial country too, there’s not much difference, how long France has been squeezing from Africans, that’s only one of many examples.
The French are both fascinated and disgusted by the Americans.

French guy here, I genuinely don't know why some of us hate americans, and why some americans hate us.
I am fine with americans, just like everybody else, I only judge people by how they act, not by their nationality. And personally, I would like to go to America - it's a pretty country in my opinion.
Your language skills are impressive!!!!
Love it!
I wonder how easy french find those who are really open to answer the questions 😅
All these answers are way too kind to be representative XD
BTW, greetings from a French knowing a bit about USA and people living there... and quite more about French people by being surrounded.
We also got to take care about a lot of issues here, but you are the ones having to vote next month (plus we already have Universal healthcare, free schools, gun control, abortion right written in the constitution...). ;)
I know I know, if it wasn't for USA we would all speak German... but debarking in Normandy you freed a bunch of irritating mouths, now deal with it.
Much love to you American friends, no matter what.

I wish my spoken English was as good as the Serbian girl's French. Her accent is almost perfect.
I am French and the controversy over embassies having intelligence and spying services has always made me laugh. I think this reaction was an act, only the most disconnected people from reality took it at face value and continue to ignore that each country has its own spy and intelligence service, including in friendly countries.
