It's not only in Tunisia, where they try to take advantage of others, specially tourists. For example, I love Brazil, but Brazilians are always trying to take advantage of each other and if you're an international tourist, then they'll do their best to take your last cent. The same happens in other countries like Thailand, Romania, Egypt, Indonesia, Morocco, etc.
@Tasnim Neffati and that's exactly what I hate about it! In Brazil, for example, they treat tourists as if they were idiots and preys, from which they can "steal" the last cent. They think all tourists are rich people and therefore they have the right to cheat on them. These people in their greed think too short. Tourists are certainly not stupid and sooner or later they find out they were cheated. At the end, the stupid ones are the cheater, because they are the ones who live from tourism and hence destroy their own income source with their immoral behaviour. Brazil is the fourth largest country in the world (the fifth if you count Alaska and Hawaii to U.S.), but it has half as much tourists as Berlin (Brazil: 6.62 Million in 2019 / Berlin: 13.96 Million 2019). Although Brazil is a wonderful country with nice people, the tourists that feel bad treated will return home and tell others not to visit the country.
I know this phenomenon is typical in poor countries and I've experience that before. In Bali I was buying some souvenirs and the two sales ladies were talking to each other and calling me "bodo", which means "idiot" in Indonesian. You can imagine that I immediately stopped the shopping there.
If these people don't learn to see the tourists as the ones who enable them to have a good life and therefore treat them better, they will always be the ones who will lose the most. The tourists can go somewhere else, these people can't.
@Firecraft Pyro I'm not saying that people are not nice, but in some countries they have a strange view on tourists. In Brazil they think gold and Euros come out when Germans go to the toilet. 😂 In many cases, Germans are the ones to blame, because when they are on vacation they often tell stories about their jobs, making people think they're all managers. Almost no one belongs to the working class during holidays. 😉
But don't be fooled, people in rich nations are not automatically nicer. It's just easier to be honest when you earn enough to pay for a living.

As a Russian, I can say that 80% of people did not take this question seriously.Most people named things they remembered that they don't like in other countries. Like " I tried French bread and it turned out to be crap, so now I have bad memories accosiated to this country ". I would personally say something like "..Welp I don't like Poland because the Poles hate us"
But that doesn't mean that I hate this country or/and the people in it (I like polish music)

When I was in the Marine Corps we were training around Mt Fuji and after the training we had a few days off and went to Osaka. We ran into some Russians and they immediately walked up to us and go Americans? We were like yep and the dudes hugged us and asked if they could run around with us. So we were out and met some Australian guys that played professional basketball and they tagged along as well. So our group consisted of some US Marines, Australian pro basketball players and some Russians 😂 We drank until 5 AM and had a great time. We taught them what a Jagr Bomb was and they loved them.
A great memory.

Poland was Russia's main rival for some time in history, and ww2 memories are still fresh. Although nowadays I see a lot of similarities with polish people, conservative ideas for example.
USA's foreign policies and military bases around Russia are not exactly factors that would make simple Russian person for some reason like that country. Rise of left ideas in USA, especially communism, which basically destroyed Russian Empire, that had huge potential, and not only killed a lot of people from Baltics, modern Ukraine, Belarus etc. but killed far more Russians, also not favorable. Ukraine... well.. Before "Maidan" Ukraine was considered as Russia's little brother, as well as Belarus. Russian language was also second official in some regions with major Russian population if I remember correctly. But now, when Ukraine is ruled by nationalists, it is completely different story. We really dislike those nationalists, not Ukrainian people.
From my experience are most rasicts live in the north of Europe. Jeg think also polish and ukrainsk people are very good. 💛 for them from Russia.
American people have a good view on Russians, really one of my high school class mates was from Russia in my math class and the some of my class mates were very interested in him

Many people make the mistake to think that many people from the Balkans speak Russian. That’s not true, yes we understand the language but only the only our parents and grandparents can speak it well. Лека вечер!
