    The shotgun DOES behave like a shotgun would in real life. It just doesnt act like most shotguns in video games that inexplicably only work at 5 feet.

      I saw comments like this and tried out the shotgun and it's become a favourite, it's very fun to use. It's stagger is helpful, it's damage is good and it feels punchy. Plus it has decent range (you can actually snipe snipers with it).

      @@martinford4553 on damnation i need 3 shots for sniper that are far away. and often they fall to the ground after first shot wich is kinda annyoing. but it is useable i guess

    There is one issue with the boltgun- the draw speed.
    Compared to the pistol and the lasgun, the bolter is incredibly slow to pull out.
    I find that oftentimes I need to quickly execute a ranged target, and then switch back to melee and the bolter makes me feel cumbersome in this regard.

      The draw and reload on the Bolter kills it for me. I don't care how great it is for taking down monstrocities and ogryns, coupled with it's low ammo and clip count? Nah man, I rather stick with my flamer, lasgun, or autoguns vs that thing. Hell, I'd use a shredder too.

      100% agree, i completely gave up on the boltgun for these reasons
      the Zelot is mostly melee but when i need a gun to fight at range, I NEED IT NOW and the Boltgun, and flamer really are too slow to be reliable

      Who would have thought a large gun built to be the side arm for Space Marines firing .75 caliber armor piercing ammo tipped with explosive charges would take time to draw?

      @@mandaloredare2135 I'm not saying that's it's unfair that it has a long draw speed, it balances the weapon well and makes perfect sense as you pointed out. Just, that it doesn't fit the quick playstyle that I have for the Zealot

    Shotgun needs more love, you didn't take into account the stagger value of the weapon also the spread is one of the most realistic spreads in a shooter

      stagger, accuracy, damage, and ultimately, super quick weapon switch to catch specials and elites quick, more rounds than pistol... totally underrated here.

      have you ever fired a shotgun before past 50 yards? The spread is literally tighter than a real shotgun, even with a full choke. It's silly.

    I think you're sleeping on the heavy laspistol. It kinda mixes the versatility of the lasguns with the mobility of the revolver, allowing you to easily deal with snipers, bursters and gunners even while you're dealing with a horde thanks to it's huge dodge range and respectable damage.

      One minor advantage of the laspistol is that it has a huge critical strike chance by default (15%, plus 5% for the Zealot and 5% if you get a max perk, for 25% total). This makes it quite nice to pair with the dagger/axe crit tank build as you can quite easily keep up your 75% toughness damage reduction when using your ranged.

      Can confirm, I used it for the first time today after getting it as a reward from a previous level. It does decent damage and I can pop headshots from hip fire pretty easily.

    shotgun is easily A tier for zealot. straight damage on anything other than carapace is monstrous, the stagger it does is shot from hip to close and close together mobs is great and awesome for mansized single targets, the ammo clip is decent for the damage it does, the accuracy even from far is amazing, mobility is good, and the speed with which you can swap to and from it, is the best part. it's a specials killer for any zealot role, trappers, dogs, snipers, gunners, anywhere, no problem.

      But the revolver is almost the same. The one downside to the revolver is the reload buttt you can basically infinitely dodge backwards with extended range while loading a few bullets.

      @@danielmoore2196 Shotgun can reload 1 round while forward sliding 1 time. Also shotgun can knockdown Crusher. But revolver can shot through foes while shotgun cant.

    Bolter is B on zealot, not enough ammo, slow reloads, slow swap speed. And considering Zealot ulty downsales enemy armor 1 tier - you dont need pen because of that and even autogun would shred some Breacher.
    Stab-revolver is S simply because Zealot can kill specials through horde since it have pretty much infinite penetration for no armor units, and you can swap yo it mid horde because of quick draw.

      Yeah the bolter's multi-hit against unarmored enemies makes it explode on 2nd hit, good for horde fighting since the rounds go off inside the horde. I do consider the bolter THE jack of all trades gun in this case. The question is do you want to specialize? The Flamer does horde clearing better, both are pretty clunky to draw and set up. The bolter does feel B at each of its roles so overall it can feel like an A or S.
      Stubby goes hard on its specialties though. I find its much easier to ADS long range enemies, the bolter is so big and has a lot of recoil, so unless the enemy is closer the revolvers mid-long range DPS feels better.
      The revolver's slow reload can be compensated by its ability to do partial reloads and you also have that long dodge range, so if one poxer tries to interrupt the reload it is very easy to kite away via dodge with the revolver.
      The revolver's infinite pen is its AoE, the bolter's radial AoE is nice for multi-hitting width but the revolver's depth of AoE is only really outdone by the flamer.
      Even if the revolver doesn't one shot a special/elite it is quite possible for me to switch back to melee until it stands back up. I've even used that to stop those gunner and ogryn gunners from pouring suppression as it interrupts their shooting or makes a bomber drop his grenade. The fact that I can do that through a horde has had a few clutch moments.
      In terms of ammo efficiency, I'm almost always using melee anyway but bolter does feel a little more efficient, assuming I don't hip fire much.
      However, there have been times where I go ammo positive due to veteran's passive on the revolver.
      Does this make the revolver S tier... I don't know honestly, it is fantastic as utility but I spend very little time using it aside from those quick swap and blam moments. The 3 S tiers he's listed are weapons that have a longer use time. But for the bolter and flamer I feel that is because they have slow draws. xD
      The revolver doesn't feel "whole" to me though and it feels overkill to shoot the small fry with it.

      Reacting quick to specials is only thing that zealot needs from range weapon. Everything else he does by melee. Thats why its S. It's covers only zealot weak part.

      I totally agree. I am firmly in the Cult of the Shotgun in gaming and have been for decades now and I have to say that the shotgun in DT is one of the best I've ever seen. 10/10

    Zealot seems to be the best at all the guns that veteran isnt. Things like low ammo dont affect them as much because most of the time you are using melee and they are being used for special occasions

      Tbh i don't see why zealot can use marksman rifles like the MG12 at all, it's not his role and blurs the line between him and the vet. MG12 is so good you barely need anything else. Auto guns can do a lot of damage but are a pain to ADS with all that's going on and they have half the mag size.

      @@pirx9798 I haven't had a good one since Dif 2, but I was headshotting things left and right so much with an MG12 that I felt like a knock-off Veteran myself. I... had much the same feeling with a Psyker too. It's just a really amazing rifle in the game's current state.

      @@pirx9798 Magazine size is a lot closer than you'd think. MG12 has a very high ammo count, but it takes 2 energy per shot, so you need to basically cut it's listed ammo value in half. The MG12 does do more damage per shot, and shoots slower, so that makes the ammo count "feel" higher.

      @Kedolan I think it's 3 ammo per shot for the mg12 and the medium Las rifle, 2 per shot for the light Las rifle.
      So 1/3 the ammo as it would seem, which brings it pretty much in the same place as the autoguns.

    I think you are very spot on with the flamer, I honestly dont run it quite as much these days myself because it's *so* good for hordes I wanted to make sure I could still deal with them sans flamer on high difficult lol. One recc I always give for the perks myself is reload speed, but instead of flak or unarmored, I really love unyielding as with high base stats it just melts everything so quick anyways except for ogryn types so feel it gives it more of an edge for reapers and bulwarks. That, and it also makes it a very reliable monstrosity melter as well, since they are unyielding. Hi int missions I default back to flamer because of the high probability of running into at least two BoN or PO and being able to sit back and watch their bar just steadily diminish, while being able to deal with trash that might pop up around them (same actually goes for assassination bosses, funnily enough, as zealot I don't melee them, I flame and mob control instead) is very satisfying. For any wondering, the +% DMG type does also apply to the DoT as well as direct DMG on flamer.
    As a side note, I'm so happy you didn't edit out your struggle with "trivialize" that was golden and made me laugh myself, in a good way XD.

    If you have a good flamer you should use it before all the other weapons on the list. IMHO it's not a Zealots job to snipe elites but to fight close combat and burn.
    Learn to run the flamer economically to not hog all the ammo, only use it when you have to and as much as you have to.
    Best Blessings to have are Overpressure and/or blaze away.
    Learn to have it ready for horde rushes.
    Press F when fighting carapace and bosses so it damages through armor.
    Apart from that I agree with the list.

    Before they patch it out, the flamer can kill crushers pretty easily on malice, but it's less consistent above that. If you have your class ability up, its use will give you a few seconds of high crit/armor pen with ranged weapons. It's nowhere near enough time to build up burn stacks, but you can build them up before hand, when they're dealing like 3 dmg to the crusher, hit your ability, and it will shoot up to like 400+ dmg per tick.
    This works really well if there are crushers in a horde you're flaming. Flame the whole horde, building burn stacks on the crushers, then pop your ability and watch them die while you reload. You can kill two or three crushers without even really doing anything extra that way, only putting your ability on CD.

    I think the braced agripina and shotgun could be argued to go up to A tier and I personally hate the head hunter guns, but otherwise solid list.

    I've found the shotgun with the knife or axe to be the best.
    It's fast to get out, does a lot of damage with high stagger, reload is fairly fast since you're only loading one shell at a time, I think this is the ultimate "oh f***" weapon
    The amount of times I've been able to use this when I've seen a sniper or a crusher has helped so much
    I definitely think this should be higher up as an A or S tier with the bolter dropped to A

      yeah this tier list showed me he's never used the shotgun (or doesnt know how to). Considering he put revolver as A-tier. if hes was in the know he'd put shotgun and revolver in the same tier. if not shotgun above it.

    Las pistol is not that bad. I would say D rather than F. It is very accurate fired from the hip over short to medium range and puts out fair DPS with good ammo efficiency. If you are working in melee and a couple of shooters pop up you can pop them in the head faster than with any other weapon. I like how fast it switches and how fast you can move and shoot. I am never going to use it except for a change of pace, it is not good. If you are leaving an alphabetical gap for an F tier, that should be reserved for things that are utterly useless.

      As someone without gear ready for dif 4 or 5 in quickplay (my only option at the moment), I understand why someone would shun that pistol after playing those difficulties, but at lower difficulties it's... interesting. My Psyker has one with a blessing that sets stuff on fire with weak spot hits. It feels like something out of Borderlands.

      I think a lot of people sleep on the las pistol because it's not being used correctly. The proper way to use it is to fire from the hip while holding the W key. It's meant to lay down suppression until you get into melee range. The ADS is just for killing cowards on balconies.

    c for shotgun!? literally staggers every enemy except monstrosity and mutant in one shot. knockdown specials and disablers in the middle of the horde(this is huge on high intensity) . snipe snipers in 2-3 shots. it has a quickdraw so u are always safe and can get off a stagger when something pops up on you. the shotgun lets you play so aggressively. IMO its the most fun way to play zealot. flamethrower will always be useful to the team and wrecks assassination finale but i felt like the ability to take care of and cc high value targets instantly made my runs more successful.

    The heavy lasbpistols are awesome. You run insanely fast with it, the reload speed and swap speed are lightning fast as well. The Mark 10 deals an average of 200 damage per shot, making it extremely ammo efficient. It has access to the infurnace blessing. It's pinpoint accurate, even firing from the hip. It's my go-to on damnation. Unless I'm playing with the team where I know I can safely use the flamer.

    Strongly disagree on the shotgun "C Tier" (its an S or at least A in my book) for the following reasons:
    1. It hits like a truck and the stagger is off the charts. True, it doesn't pierce carapace, but that is what your F and the Mk V axe is for.
    2. The swap speed in phenomenal. Unlike the bolter, I can be mowing down pox walkers in melee, see a sniper or rager, swap in 1/2 a second, kill the elite, swap back and continue on my way. Have a mentioned the swap speed on the bolter is terrible?
    2. The range effectiveness (short and long) is unparalleled. This thing will take down a mauler trying to smash in my face (great stagger to keep him off me, great damage to take him down) but also a sniper on the other side of the map. At longer ranges it might take two shots, but the first shot will always stagger the sniper and the second one will kill him.
    3. Comparable ammo to other hard hitting guns (revolver/bolter). At 10 or so shots, the shotgun has enough ammo to get the job done (usually killing an elite or 2) before you need to reload. The reload speed is slow, however this is not my primary weapon and I rarely keep it out for very long, with reloads happening when I have the time. Also, unlike the bolter, I can fire the shotgun mid reload if needed.
    In all I would take the shotgun over the Mk XII lasgun (my prefered veteran weapon btw) every time. The only other gun I would consider using currently on my zealot is the flamer (assuming the veteran or psyker is competent).

    i rly like the autopistol, it actually has decent range and u can mow down quite a quite a few swarmers as they approach making it a bit less overwhelming esp if u dont have much cleave.

    5:28 running that monster of a Lasgun is almost required for randoms. I'm of the opinion that more special/elite killing is never bad.

    I feel the Agripinaa Infantry autogun vastly outperforms the other two simply in its ability to tapfire at long range. Short to mid they're all about the same, but the higher damage battle rifle feel of the agripinaa just makes it very much like a hybrid between the Kantrael XII and the Bracing autoguns, whereas the other two infantry autoguns just feel like sliiiightly more precise low-ammo versions of a Bracing.

      For the autoguns, the balanced/fast variants have the collateral stat (which gives bonus to stagger/suppression) while the heavy variants have stopping power (which gives bonuses to non-carapace armor damage and stagger). Since suppression doesn't work on a lot of enemies, that means their main difference is useless, and they're just a faster firing gun that can't deal with flak armor very well.

      I agree and think it should go up to s. It's ability to gun down any enemy in the game at impressive ranges while also having good short range with a quick reload and forgiving ammo stockpile is so versatile. Personally I find the iron sites really good to use and really accurate. Also combined with the action skill of the zealot, unleashing full auto on ogryns and bosses does loads of damage. It's so good I sometimes go long periods without using my melee weapon! Like doing the veterans job better than a veteran.

      yean, most revolvers are 6 rounds but those are small callibers, large caliber revolvers are 5, which is what ol'stubby is.

      There's another thing I've noticed: damage/rate of fire ratio is not the only difference between autoguns. Agripinaa pattern guns can punch through a poxwalker and hit an enemy behind him, while other braced and infantry models can't (not sure about headhunters, never really tested them). That's a very important feature that many people seem to miss.

    I think people universally disagree with the shotgun placement. I am one of them. But it is also worth noting - and a lot of people miss this: it fires slug shots while ADSed. Meaning you can get headshots with the gun.
    Of course the falloff will still be significant enough to make it subpar at greater ranges, but it's still excellent at handling multiple roles in terms of stagger, anti-gunner, and anti-special. You generally won't have to worry about long-range as Zealot. I'd personally call it an easy A-tier, maybe very high B at worst.

    I think shotgun should be in A tier just behind the revolver and I only think the revolver beats it because of blessings. I use them for the same thing you can quickly swap and stagger an enemy then swap back without missing a beat

    As much as I love the Kantrael XII I actually think it's a pretty bad pick for a zealot. They almost need to be in melee range to survive and that type of gun promotes the exact opposite style of gameplay. The best zealot weapons are the ones that are good in close range (flamer, bolter) or ones that aid in getting the zealot into melee range. Weapons with high mobility and utility that can quickly kill or stagger a gunner or two while you are on the move, such as the revolver or autopistol or even braced autogun. Sitting back and taking shots through a scope is a detriment to yourself and your team.

      I find the infantry autoguns are better for that reason, they play nice in close quarters and still allow you to fulfill the role of ranged if your team is lacking.

      Sometimes you have to pick off a few gunners before advancing. This is especially important on heresy and damnation difficulties

      @@tomoqube I think you guys are all correct. Sometimes discount vet is a bad thing, sometimes it saves your team. My Zealot may have faith in the Emperor, but I'm not sure I have enough faith in quickplay parties to take flamers everywhere. I'll try just about anything at some point though.

      got one that when it headshots im completly immune to ranged dmg for a bit so it comes in super clutch against walls of gunners. zel needs no help in close combat from their guns.

    I dont know if they buffed it at all but the autopistol feels so good to me. I have a very fast aggressive playstyle and just having something I can whip out and take care of gunners is so important.

    I've been messing with the stub revolver since your space pirate video and I like it quite a lot. Its more accurate at range than you'd assume it would be, distant snipers are no problem. The bullet pierce is nice too. A gunner and bomber lined up for me to get both with one bullet the other day lol. Can knock down a gunner / stagger a reaper before you charge in so you aren't getting shot at. can't say enough good things about the stub :)

    I ran a braced autogun all week on my Zealot in Heresy/Damnation games and decided to shelf it after we struggled to take down a sniper trio. Its great at quickly killing ragers in hordes but I rather run a Sword+Bolter/Revolver. Shoutout the my Vraks Headhunter autogun with crucian roulette and ghost.

      Agrapinaa braced is best, imo. Unlike the columnus and Graia patterns, it can pierce poxwalkers, making it more effective at clearing them out. The others have more ammo capacity and rate of fire, but the Agra seems more ammo efficient.

    Currently I'm only playing at difficulty 2 but I found the Laz Pistol to be very useful. It has great range and reliably drops trash mobs. It also has very nice range. My trigger finger is killing me after a match. It's a good starter gun but I did move on to bigger and better things.

    One blessing of particular note on the revolver is Trickshooter. A bit tricker to use than crucian, *but* it too is a global buff and will 5x stack % power on chaining weakpoint hits, can be different targets, and doesn't reset on reload or weapon swap, just missed weakpoint shots. For for ultimate global buff cheese: 5 weakpoint shots to empty revolver, then swap to melee and enjoy 40% extra crit *and* something like 10-20% extra power on weapon.... XD

    The aggri brauto, stands a bit apart from the others as instead of featuring the collateral stat, it actually has stopping power which imo is massively beneficial as a good roll will help your DMG against all armor/flesh types. For me, it's an A weapon at least, for zealots, for it's sheer power and versatility. It still suffers at longer ranges, but the slower rate of fire makes short bursts easier and higher per DMG per shot gives it an edge.
    It's fairly quick swap speed, and ability to ability to thin hordes very well due to penetration of multiple targets, or delete any special or elite (aside from crushers without F) within 30 meters nearly instantly (especially a group of 5 ragers or several maulers trying to wreck your day) make it very complementary to the zealot play style, allowing you to flow in and out of ranged/melee on the move very seamlessly.
    I'm lucky to have one with 80/80 ammo/stopping power and 78/79 DMG/stability and deathspitter 5.5% and, more importantly, frenzy fire 8%. The duration on these is short, but make deletion of nearby threats noticeably quicker.
    Especially because FF 8 stacks :D. It really hits some ridiculous high numbers over a clip and absolutely minces the afore mentioned scary large groups of ragers in short order or clears a big chunk of horde surprisingly quickly.
    Still has it's drawbacks at further range and ammo conservation issues, but I think the aggri has the edge over the other mks and the sheer versatility/power sets it above and is probably my favorite ranged overall and my personal go-to for missions by default, barring the need for something more specialized.
    Just my thoughts on this particular gun, thanks for the video and in particular I was surprised and pleased to see your appreciation for the revolver, a very fun one to run as well :)

      Oh and one other thing to mention about the brauto is how much fun the zealots unique melle immunity during slide makes it in hectic situations when you find yourself caught 360d by groups of enemies or soloing a large mixed group, mag dump, reload on the slide (maximize enjoyment by deliberately doing so through a crusher overhead), rinse and repeat as needed, haha.

    Soils tier list. Points on the autopistol. It readies and reloads very fast and has high stagger. I've found you can spray at shooters and stagger enough they keep their heads down enough to get into melee. Also fast enough to draw in a large melee to gun down shooters on the edge and deal with ragers. It can also stagger dogs on the run pup! Lastly it combos amazingly with the zealot ult. you can clip dump into a crusher on heresy and kill it.

    I think many people misunderstand how to possibly use the flamethrower verse range weapons. the Zealot ultimate if you lock onto enemy will send you further than its normal distance closing the gap between you and whoever. that being said the flamethrower has quite the range if you test it out in the grinder along with its suppression. also the stun grenades that the Zealot has are perfect and makes sense (it's also an achievement for 40 m a way to stun a sniper with a grenade) to give you time to close the gap without taking damage as well. or perhaps it's just me but I've played so much with the flamethrower and just a hammer on T5 that I may have just become efficient at utilizing the zealots kit in such a way.

    I’ve mostly built my zealot around my crusher and flamer, but I’ve never tried heresy or damnation. And based on your videos it seems like it’s a damn good thing I didn’t too 😂 I’d just be sitting back waiting for the rest of the team to clear gunners.
    I guess in a public game, my best bet would be the Antax and Bolter to cover all the bases?

      I run heresy and dip my toes into damnation as well, and with an Eviscerator + Flamer combo. Really, the only problem is with the snipers. Tag them when you see them, and hope your team can pick them up ASAP.

I know it’s just a game and no big deal but… it’s something I’d like to avoid if I can help it. Not that I think I could hit a sniper with a bolter whilst suppressed anyway 😂

      No bolter. Use flamer if you want to burn the whole screen, but sniper is your nightmare.
      Use shotgun for staggering, knock big and heavy guys to the ground, and chainsaw their necks if you are all about melee. And snipe those snipers and other elites as well.
      Use revolver if you want to kill that damn sniper/gunner/shotgunner/dog/trapper hiding behind a bunch of zombies and shooting your teammates, because you can shoot through them all in one shot.
      Or use MG XII Lasgun, if you are still learning the game. Then follow the team and start popping foes' heads; when trash mobs get too close, pull out your big saw and cut them.
      All other guns are more or less a waste of your time, as a zealot.

      @@Malignvs That problem is why I just run the chad lasgun. Team can be rather slow on some of the more annoying ranged units, and it's nice to have range when you need to clutch up. I recommend trying it if you haven't.

    The heavy lazpistol feels like it should be an offhand for the combat knife because of the move speed. It is quite fun to plink around with on the first two difficulties because it has ZERO sprint speed reduction and is actually more accurate while moving but it is a plinker and takes far-far to many shots on anything higher. It feels like it should be the special attack of one of the one-handed melee weapons that isn't the chainsword or power sword.
    Flamer is good for grouping but if you are going with randoms FFS do not take it. It is a very role-specific weapon with no versatility. Even the combat shotgun _can_ reach out and slap ranged units if it has to, if only to stagger. For random groups, stick with the bolter.

    Flamer is my favourite zealot weapon, it combos with zealots tier 4 feat which give increased ranged dmg based on distance. Up to a 25% bonus. Most enemies are within the 25%dmg range with the flamer. Add unyielding as the trait and you can melt damnation bosses easily and delete everything else. Also you can aim the secondary fire then use zealots dash and stay in the secondary fire. Allowing you to charge gunners and shooter with flamer and instantly suppres them. I have tried the bolter and mx12 lasgun and while they are both great, I always find my self thinking I really wish I had a flamer here. Shotgun combos well with single target dmg weapon due to insane stagger and switch to speed. Use two heavy, shotgun blast to stagger, more heavy attacks rinse and repeat till dead.

    As every weapon, you should adjust your build to it. If you use flamer, you take feat that makes you immune to stun on melee. That means your flamer doesn't get interrupted. Also, as for fighting ranged enemies, with proper cloud size rating, it reaches up to 23m which is respectable. If you need to get closer, you brace, fire and then use your active. That way you move forward while flaming/suppressing enemies that could shoot at you. So you don't die in the process. You can also slide to the enemy to avoid ranged damage. If you know how to play zealot, little range deficit isn't an issue. I would take Flamer over any autogun every time.
    As for shotgun, I think it should be rated for what it is, not for what you expect from weapon named "shotgun".

    Revolver until I die. It's such a quick weapon paired with a knife, that when I see a target I can't explicitly run up to and stab 50 times, I can quickly take out this respectable mid-range cutie and pop a relatively accessible headshot in order to take out something that my knife can't reach. It's quite the kicker, and I love it.

    I play zealot with no regard for personal space. Using the three D's of dodge ball. I have come to use revolver as my main gun since i can take out or stagger any problems and its fast draw speed. The guns with long draw speed are just a no go for me since I am usually knee deep in enemies and you don't have time to wait on those animations. Yes reload takes forever but by the time i need to i usually pull back into cover.

    I agree that boltguns are up there, couldn’t say if they are S or A tier though. They have some amazing strong suits, but running through the ammo fast and having a slow reload and draw time can make it difficult to use.
    I think with a really good zealot, (better than me though I main bolt gun) it is definitely S tier. I also think some people make the mistake of pairing it with a melee weapon that cannot horde clear as effectively like the thunder hammer or Heavy evidcerator. It should be paired with a faster melee weapon like the attic axe (I use the mk II)

    I can never make the revolver work, apart from fast switching it’s inferior to bolter in every way. But I will try it out again when I get a good one.
    Also I think braced agripina is the only gun I consider taking out of the B tier.

      If you use a revolver to just take out 1 or 2 ranged targets and then switch to melee, it's effective. Time your reloads outside of fights.

      Yep I find that it might be a flamer or a gunner that is blocking me from advancing into a group of enemies, so a quick shot to the head with the revolver and then slide into melee range for the rest keeps me moving quickly

      @@derkaiser9881 I still haven't enjoyed the revolver on damnation. It can't kill any specials or elites in a single shot, it doesn't have the ammo to be able to spend 2-5 shots on every elite. The reload speed and bad breakpoints make it slow to deal with multiple threats at range. I just haven't found it that useful. The weakest elite/special, which is the sniper, can survive a headshot from a max damage roll revolver.

    I would put Revolver in S+ Tier for sure if you play on PC.. faster draw when you need a quick shot while clearing a wave to kill an elite.. it has high damage, good sights for killing at distance and good penetration.. the time you lose reloading and drawing the BoltGun makes for me the Revolver better than it; you see a gunner, you reload 1 bullet and kill it, no need to go through all the animation, and also if you quickswap you can cancel some reloading animations.
    And also another thing.. you get slowed everytime you shoot the BoltGun.. with the Revolver that does not happen.

    The flamer is great but I can never use it in pugs at heresy+ levels. People just tend to ignore the backline too long so I generally use a headhunter as a jack of all trades weapon. Staggers, has range, decent power if you have to switch out to handle a sniper or flamer in the back.

    Shredder Autopistol just fucking wrecks. I never used it before the patch so I don't know if it improved but I get comments all the time in random groups about what the hell I'm using because of the work it's doing. Use the Pinning Fire blessing.

    Regarding laspistol, it is certainly awkward in design.
    First, it's a close range las weapon. Las has reverse range damage falloff, meaning they do less damage up close. Idk if this applies to the laspistol, and I hope not.
    Second, as a Las weapon, its hip fire sucks.
    Third, if you want to use it at range, the zoom is bad and wobbles.
    However, looking at its damage profiles, this thing seems good at doing one thing, and that's taking out unarmored and flak enemies, and has a great headshot multiplier.
    It suffers greatly vs unyielding and infected, even worse vs maniacs (mutants, ragers, flamers, trappers) which are SUPER important to kill quickly, and 0 damage vs carapace.
    Its penetration is also poor, making it bad at clearing out crowds. Ammo capacity, as well, is on the low side. The shredder auto can do everything better than this thing, besides shove and ADS.
    It may be a better weapon for psykers, as the push is enhanced for them, but overall this weapon is too niche in its uses to be worth taking when other options are more general.

    Zealots generally don't spend much time in melee, and so the criticism that it is unsuited for prolonged gun fights, while true, doesn't really apply to Zealots in my opinion. It seems like a perfect weapon to quickly draw and get rid of a threat, then switch back to melee. I'm actually not a fan of the revolver, however. I don't like the feel of it. Also, the Mk XII seems to be a better choice, as it will outperform the revolver in any scenario, (especially multiple shooters in cover) except for targets behind trash mobs.

    Agrip braced and infantry autos hit some interesting breakpoints. Braced auto can 2 bodyshot and infantry auto can 1 headshot all ranged trash on Damnation without feat investment. They also have huge dps so you can mag dump to kill groups of carapace.

    re the shotgun did you notice it has diffrent spread patterns hip fire vs down sight?
    myself id put the pistols and shotgun a couple ranks higher, i value mobility on a zeal and my ranged weapon is used sparingly for taking out something at ranged fast, the shredder is a high stagger weapon with high accuracy and the lowest bloom of any full auto in game. its the only (auto) thing i can reliably keep on target while sliding forward
    along with the las pistol which shares all its strengths but is a much longer range sniper style weapon they are fastest in game to swap to and some of the only guns ive found i can beat a las shotgunner to the draw with on coming round a corner , there low on paper dps is saved by both high crit and high finesse scores so staying on weak spot is greatly rewarded , add in thier best in class tolerance for firing while moving and you have two of the best "oh poop" buttons in game. that fit well in thier niche of range weapons you can keep forward momentum while killing high priority targets and getting back into melee.
    and the flamer id put in F tier, outside of a premade where 3 beta cucks have agreed to be your personal fluffers and are willing to stand and watch you spooge there really is no point to this noob trap. its a terrbile weapon

      Thy Wrath be swift is currently bugged and actually turns off your Iconic aura ( Toughness Damage reduction ) so I didn't recommend it.

    Many ppl here have the opinion that flamer in pugs is a risk due to players ignoring the right pacing to control the flow. But with 200H now into the game, on heresy/damn I almost always take it and regret when i dont. everyone and their mothers specialize in special/elite killing. I presume its more apealing to the general mass? besides Vets are in the majority in my experience. So hordes and CC tipicly are not focused on. Flamer saved/chilled my runs in so many ocasions!

    I've really been enjoying the shotgun, just seems to hit all the right marks as a zealot. The only issue I have with it is the reload speed and ammo efficiency; easily an A tier weapon imo.

    To me, the bolter gun is fantastic! Except, it's never available when you need it. Even with the most recent changes, dog coming at you? Too slow to use it before it's already on you (just dodge/push/use any other gun to put it down before it's on you), a hard target like an ogryn in your face? Once again, too slow to use it while it's in your face unless you want to burn a charge to make room. When you're going to need it most, it's just too slow. So while it's great on just about everything, I never, never use it. I've probably used it for, max, half a dozen or 10 games or so.

Not eager to pick up a Las myself since i think "Let dem Vets do their job, i do mine" but yea, Stubby, Flamer and Bolter are my favs as well. Mostly flamer though.. i simply love to see dem heretics burn... plus, it makes up for the lack of crowd killing from my axe.

    So not to trivialize (^^) a great video that I personally needed with great immediacy, and I thank you profusely for your views from having played much more than I have, I do believe you called the revolver a 6-shooter, which is an awesome Freudian slip in my view. ...Anyway, I was afraid of making the bolter my sweetie due to my Veteran experiences, but since my Zealot hasn't had a good XII lasgun since dif 2, I'll use the bolter more, though maybe experiment with the shotgun and revolver. I'm pretty good with the revolver, funnily.. just comfort/ aim wise.

    Weapons in same tier are ordered from better to worse: S = Flamer/AgripBraced, A = Bolter, B= ColumBrace /Quickdraw/GraiBrace, C= All Lasguns / All Autoguns, D = Shredder / All Headhunters , F = Shotgun / HeavyLas. I have no idea why you would rank MGX11 as S Tier, at least this list is better then your Zealot Melee.

    Revolver is the best gun due to its handling speed, the main and most important thing for Zealot so you can snap in and out of melee as fast as possible. The idea the lasgun or the bolter are better doesn't make sense to me given the nature of the 'notice threat, snap to range, kill, return to melee' play style.

    I completely disagree on the boltgun, the draw speed and overall handling really, really hurts it. As a zealot, you're constantly weaving in and out of combat, and if you need to quickly dispatch or stagger a special, the bolter just takes way too long IMO.

      Definitly it's biggest drawback, and not far behind is the reload speed but I find one dash back it's you enough time to get her out and when you do, full auto can basically solve all your immediate issues lol. when it comes to on demand DPS this thing just works wonders.

    laspistol was pretty good up to malice with the built in sprint hipfire
    i'd actually put shotgun in F and laspistol in C because holy sht the shotgun is so damn bad, it never ever ever kills in 1 shot from hip fire, needs serious damage ramp up at close range or something. just for the fact that the shotgun takes 2 shots on a meatshot i'd put it in F because it's so annoying to double shot everything

    Imho the zealot shouldn't be touching the las gun. It is the hammer not the scalpel. It does not lend itself well to the zealot playstyle

      Imagine you have two ogryns and a psyker for teammates on Damnation, It's better than waiting behind a wall for 20 minutes while the pskyer BB everysingle shooter xD

      @@bengonzalez5215 Sure You can get away with that on Malice, once you're in Damnation though different story. You're also assuming you always have a clear path to your target with the charge which is not common. Aaaaand the zealot charge is currently bugged and can be interrupted mid way through from incoming damage. jus saiyan ;)

    well u do know that the ult of zealot gives them full pen on armor do u. That paired with the flamer just melts everything include crusher.

    Besides the braced Autoguns, i'm not sure i like to use any of them tbh. Mag size and Ammo reserves all seem pretty meh.

    Im surprised you rated Boltgun in S when it has more weakness than the Revolver. We all love Boltgun and want to use, but I think objectively, the Boltgun is weak on zealot. As you mentioned with the revolver, the switch speed is very important as well as reload speed and the Boltgun is one of the worst weapons if not the worst in both categories, the damage is not worth it, most of the time it is a complete overkill. I personally like Infantry rifles, I think they are very versitile.

    I'm surprised revolver placed so high when it has only 5 ammo in a clip (not 6), very high recoil and very slow reload. On top of that it only kills things well if you headshot and therefore usually takes multiple shots. I find the boltgun better than the revolver in every way, but even then I prefer the agripinaa infantry autogun for better accuracy, reload speed, ammo and damage not too far off.

      Revolver you take for the handling speed and crucian roulette, if you hit the breakpoints you can one shot gunner to the body on Damnation. But mostly the crucian roulette bug is giga broken :3

    Most shotguns don’t just shoot a cone of pellets in a 5 foot Cone in front of them. The combat shotgun doesn’t behave like a video game sgoutgun it behaves like a real one.

    Not a fan of the MKII lasgun. People keep saying it's great, I find it too slow and w/o enough killing power to make it worth its while, not to mention at higher difficulties, it's too easy to get overwhelmed b/c of this.
