I used long tsuka for yrs until sensei pointed out my imperfections in my posture. Switched to short and now it's fixed a lot of my issues.

Coming back to the UK for Christmas so no training for me! Looking forward to Kangeiko in January already.
For Kendo clubs, outside of Japan, what sort of venues make the best practice spaces? In particular, any tips for overcoming recaltricant leisure centres intimidated by Kendo’s kiai and fumikomi?

Hi! I have a technical question about sayu men. I have always been told, that during sayu men suburi the left hand should be in the center, and kensen is slightly off, just like it would be a men in front of us - the exact same movement like during the kirikaeshi. But I see a lot of high-level kendoka during sayu-suburi are leaving kensen in the center and hands are slightly off. Which version is a proper one?

    Great video !
Why do you think people take up nito ?
What are your thoughts on Fujii Ryouichi sensei passing the 8th dan test doing nito?
I look forward to your kendo rants every day !
    Cheers !

Funny, I was expressing my interest in eventually trying Nito to my Sensei after practice last night.
I only started kendo a few weeks ago but eventually I would love to learn Nito
Fully aware this will likely take years but I guess it gives me something to look forward to along with my general progression :)

If person is not doing Chudan you can strike any Kote. General rule.
