another 57 Chevy in the shop. The journey of our finding the truck retrieving the truck and trying to get it started. Everything came together surprisingly. Will it run? 57 Chevy truck survivor.
I just found your channel yesterday. What a great project your 57 is. It's so cool that you could give that extra to a good buddy who's family is excited to make a family project out of. Keep up the videos. Thanks for all you and your family has done to share this. :)
I sold my 55 210 sedan when I got married and then bought it back 5 years later, then I sold it again about 4 years later. Fast forward to now and I have owned 68 cars since I was 16 years old, I'm 70 now and have owned my 66 Chevelle Super Sport for 22 years and it's the keeper!
Sweet ride!!! I love it!!! My parents had a 1959 fleetside Chevy with a push button starter in the floor, when they were first married, in November 1970.
I owned a 64 Chevy shortbed for 35 years it was my daily driver. 3 speed on the tree, updated small block 350. I finally restored it, drove it all over the U.P. of Michigan and several trips to the Smokey Mountains. Finally sold it for way less than it was worth because of financial crisis. I sure miss that truck.
Yeah, these things are survivors. I feel like they just want to run. I’m working on another one check out the next when I get it posted. I bought another one. I am addicted.
I always like the reaction of people when she first fires up , I remember that feeling very well as I’ve had a few of those in my past. She sound real smooth. Happy motoring.
I have a 56 custom cab that has been in my wifes family for 50 years. I am going to leave it with its current patina but put it on a 2005 Tahoe chassis so it has a modern running gear with classic looks. 🤪👍
He’s a good friend who works hard and I think he will really enjoy the truck. He’s got it running better than I did and it’s beginning to tinkering fix things up that need to be done like a new seat.
Thank you. I have another treat. I just found something last night you’ll have to see it. I’ll get it up on here as soon as I get it going to 1954 Chevy 3100 all original I’m excited about it.
Yes, the environment is hard on vehicles isn’t it if we could stop rust it would be some gray barn finds out there. I just found a 54 Chevy that I picked up and I will bring it home today. It’s all original it hasn’t been molested. It should be a nice old truck but it has a lot of rust.
@russellmcconahay7297 I sold a 66 bronco that was uncut. Original if I remember 4cyl. 3 speed it was blasted and in red primer. Stupid is as stupid does.😭😭😭😭😭
The tank was dry and I had the fuel pump unhooked. Fuel tank has a plug on the bottom. We opened it up and the tank was dry so then we flushed it and it was clean so then I ran fuel through a filter and into the pump, then change the filter and ran it to the carburetor, and it was clean before it got to the carburetor no issues with the fuel tank

Yeah, I thought the stump starter on the floor was fun unless you’re stuck on the hill and you kill it.
Glad to see you back!
Thank you this has been a bit of a journey but it’s been a fun one
Love them 57’s watch out eye borrows on front fenders always rust out

Nice truck !
I has a 55 Chevy Belair 2dr post when I was in high school, wish I had it today

If anyone can fix anything, it's Russ! 😎

Thank you keep your eye open for the next one. It’s a 54 these things are just survivors and want to live.
I had a really clean 57 3/4 ton with 6 cylinder. Sold it when I left for the service. The guy I sold it to left it outside to rot away.😢

All of them from the 60's & 70's.
Yes
I know where there's another one about 2/3 restored. It's a V8, three on the tree
We’re at I’ll fire up my Duramax
that looks like montana territory i need that truck for parts
What parts are you looking for? I have a a lot of parts.
@@russellmcconahay7297 I need 2 fenders and 2 doors
I'm not sure where you are, I think Utah. If you Drove 500 Miles into Wyoming, you must have been close to the South Dakota Border where I live.
Yes, I’m in the center of Utah, and I had to go up to the northern border of Wyoming read in the center of the state. Thanks for watching.
@@russellmcconahay7297 In a previous video, I asked where you got the CHevrolet steering wheel. I'm looking for something like that for my 37 Chev PU
Don't look like the same truck
Ya it really popped!
Why would you be trying to start it up with gas? That’s 50 years old that’s in the tank. Not smart.
