- I noticed a sign at a gas station with some cars for sale and that lead me to this 1955 Chevrolet 4 door sedan. It's been parked for 50 years at a farm. Let's see if we can get it running! This car is SOLD! As always, thanks for watching!

There’s no way I’m watching an almost 2 hour video like this. Maybe you should do some editing to bring it closer to 45 minutes. I’d subscribe but not for videos this long. No hating. Just saying. 😕
Sure am glad you're not my Uncle. You probably give out socks for Christmas.
We want long videos!!!!!!!+
Yeah, cheesy, used socks with both big-toes peeking through...@@MortskeRepair
Be patient my young Padawan. The videos are about the whole journey from purchase to duff-ride not just the mechanics.
@@MortskeRepair once Santa Claus gave me underwear for Christmas. Probably came from this guy.
By himself Mortske is awesome. But give him someone to bounce banter back and forth and we reach new levels of humor. These two cracked me up!
Glad you enjoyed it
"Foot feed" Old farm tractors had hand throttles to set speed for field work. It was an option to have a "foot feed" when the tractor was used in close quarters for better control rather then slip the clutch.
Great info
Had a couple of John Deere’s with “Footfeeds” that would give some extra rpm’s for road travel. 4020 s diesels
Another Mortske Monday! How great is this? 😊👍
And even a DD Butcher Shop shout-out.
How Neat Is That!😆
I last worked on a 235 back in 1970. It was in a junkyard salvaged 57'. Sadly, when I got it running, it sounded like someone had a broom handle in the fan. I guess that is why it was in the junkyard. Put a 283 in it and drove it for quite awhile. Nice that this one sounds healthy. Pretty solid for a car that sat as long as this one did.
I can't get the brake lines loose on a one year old car here...
With your talent Wes you could make them out of drinking straws mate 😉👌👍😂😂
Need more Kroil
DD speedshop ‘55 , puddin’ blue interior on Mortske’s channel on a Monday night ..don’t get much better 😎
DD and Mortske, rare treat! Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for another Mortske Monday! Thanks for the great editing Chin! 🐾🍺
Could you guys imagine the Mopar madman, mortske,dd speed shop Daniel, Derek vice grip garage, puddin, and slick 50, and mojo on the same episode??lol??!
Our pleasure
@@richardbates2367no thank you! DD SPEED SHOP and morstke would be great though
Laughed a bunch to this one. 😅 Love seeing the Mopar Madman helping out. Banter was hilarious.
Glad you enjoyed it
4:00 Dan at DD Speed Shop can fix your too-many-doors problem. Same with your 56.
Thanks for the video the master cylinder and brake segment were the best .
Glad you enjoyed it
Yep love these 235 l6 engines. I have kept mine going for over 13 years myself with 4 collapsed lifters. Yea I had to adjust them all the way out but It runs great. Timing seems A bit to advanced when you were first cranking It. Nice find man!!! Oh BTW Rock Auto has all the brake parts for that car at good prices. I should know due to rebuilding the entire brake system on my 55 chevy 4 door 2 months ago.
I've been following you for years. I appreciate how you present your channel and how you are able to restart old engines to make them work and ride again. I also appreciate the models of cars you restore the 1950's ,1960's, 1970 cars are beautiful. I would of loved to have the chance to work with old emgines like that. I am french canadian and I dont speak english so I asked my interpretor to help me to message you. My interpretor will be be available in a long time but I will try to message you when he will be available again. I also wanted to say to you that I really appreciate the American flag I find the stripes and stars beautiful and much better than the Canadian flag. Thank you and continue your great work 👍👍👏
Thanks so much for watching!
Had a good time see you next Monday
This looks like it's going to be a good one
After the battery terminals, clean the starter terminal and the wire connector. Maybe push the car to start it? It will turn over faster and not drain the battery.
Love MoJOe... I could learn a lot from him and I'm a young punk at 63 yrs old...
Why won't Popeye's hammer rust? He keeps it in Olive Oil.
Hope you're well, Mortske. Ready for winter?
😂😂
Muahaha
OOOH A 55 CHEVY!!!! How neat is that!?
You’re right, for a 55 that’s been sitting for quite a while, it’s not in too bad shape. Plus it runs! That old girl could make someone a nice easy project! Wish I lived closer! That looked like some pretty fresh sh..stuff the Duff got into when you were picking up the car! Thanks for a Great episode!
Thank you for sharing and your APPRECIATION to your subscribers Mortske.
Our pleasure
That starter can draw 300 to 600 amps until the engine starts to turn....
You might also want to clean the idle jet and mixture screw.
I had a 57, but the same engine.
I also had a '57 Chevy - with a 235 - when I was in high school. It had the separate oil filter canister that was clamped to the intake manifold.
When I got the car, the feed and return lines to the canister were not hooked up. My uncle thought that we should hook up some new ones and
bought some copper braided ones that we put on. This was around 1975 and I think the cost was about $17 or $18 for the pair....I was so broke
back then, that I think I had to pay him back in three payments......now, I probably spend that much for lunch every day !
Dirty Duff!! 😂 🐶 It's been a long time since we had a runner! WoooooWhoooo! Good job, Mort! 👍
Mortske Monday , Yahooooooo , Still the best thing since Velveta cheese . Or maybe canned SPAM . Thank you for a most entertaining video . I thaught you would have figured out the brakes would be in such fine condition after sitting for so many years , they probably gave out while being dragged around by the tractor fifty years ago but at least its running . Once again THANK YOU , you made my week ,Give DUFF DOG a treat and a bath and I'll See you next Monday . Stuart in Ontario ..
You got it running, nice, Mort
That box is nice, clearly the subscriber went to some trouble, possibly if you took the time to read the directions you might just find it works really well
Good point
Duff Dog & Mr. Morske getting a true old school again y'all stay on it I love 55s.
Accelerator pedal, is the correct terminology for y'all folks north of the Great Salt Belt.
Actually I've heard it called everything y'all done named off, but I thought I'd throw that in the mix just for heck of it.
MOPAR fella he brings the humor outta you that you normally keep suppressed.
LMFAO, little sarcastic humor for ya.
Glad you had a side kick to kick around, and y'all even work well together.
You know why Duffmiaster rolls in fresh cow pies?
Nope, me either, but my little heeler use to do it every spring, and during the summer after she got a bath.
She'd go out and roll in the sandy part of the gravel driveway, then wait till she got beside me to shake all the dust off from it.
Miss that dam dog
PS
It's been in the 40's at night, and 60 or so during the day here in NE Texas last week or so, dam nice change from 106 plus all summer, and now rain would be very nice
My ole man never bought new wheel cylinders, he bought rebuild kits for couple bucks and hit them with his hone in old black n decker aluminum drill
When you said “duff is my kid” I loved that haha I have 2 fur children. Love your videos man
absolutely!
Nice old Chevy, love the dash. That starter box is real sweet, definitely needs some upgrades to allow for 12/24 volts and cooling fan operation. I wouldn’t restore her, just get it running and stopping and drive the snot out of it.
What a classic American Graffiti lol vanishing point few others lol
The shear excitement in your voice when you said "by the power of grey skull" had me going. Hahaha
Nice score ! 4 doors and station wagon are cool too. A little drop and a fresh set of Fiesta caps would make a get start.
Good call!
Mr. Mortske, iffin ya al' had Karl (Sling blade) on the scene, he wooda had dat Chebby runnin' a lot quicker than you two feller's! Tks for the video, it's good entertainment on a Monday morning! Uffta!
Chevys 235 6 banger was a great motor for years. Had one in our '67 boat that Mercury used to make 150 hp. Ran it for 42 years and it had plenty of torque, almost to the end when it finally needed an overhaul.
The old motor runs good. Sounds solid.
Brent has a 56 Olds and it got the ole’ Mortske Flick to run!
Always works
This is a true. Real find. Classic. 210. Thanks ❤❤❤❤
Our pleasure
"foot feed" in my Dad's garage. Screw drivers are either plus or minus. Also my point in life when I knew I was successful was not chain with 2 hooks but descent set of jumper cables.
Never heard that one
duffs just in the bed of the truck like "its getting WIIINNNNDDDDYYYY!!!"
This was a very entertaining video. The banter between the two of you was great. Dig the 55 too.
Glad you enjoyed it
I love my 4 door 1965 vintage Malibu!!!! 230 6cyl with PowerGlide and 3:08 posi rearend!!!!
Excellent video Mortske Repair :) , Duff Dog 🐕, , also that 235 Cylinder motor (Blue Flame ) also would fix up the Generator if get parts for rebuilding it to or put AC Delco Alternator in 1955 and how get trunk open I would say lube Coral oil pentriotion fluid on key also handle plus lip the love Taps to with hand with bit heat too! If not working you have drill out tumbler!
Madman is right. You can't kill those 50s Chevys. My dad found a '57 sitting in the corner of an auto lot on four flats around '97 or so. We passed by it for years, and Lord knows how long it was there. He offered the guy $500, and he took it. My dad had it towed to a gas station, aired the tires up, put a battery and some gas in it, and drove it home. We eventually had to do the fuel pump, brake system, tires, and rebuild the carb, but it was his daily driver for several years. The story he got was that the lot bought the car from someone, and they took it joyriding, ran it out of gas, and couldn't figure out how to put gas in it (idiots). They just left it to rot in a corner of the lot, rather than looking under the car to see where the filler neck was. smh It was a 4 door black and white hard top with 44K original miles when my dad got it.
Awesome
@04:32 its sitting on another tire
how neat is that 🤪
Puddin' would probably get all sweaty over that B-100...
I have to say,that 235 is a wonderful engine, bulletproof,and fun to work on……James
Definitely
Mortske Monday! w/ Duff Yay!
You guys have to much fun on a cloud ☁️ day ❤
Looks like some one lied to me. I was always told the 56's were more popular because of the suspension. In fact I was told 55's had a straight axle. Never owned a 55 & it's been years since I had a 56 but looks about same to me. I guess if I really thought about it I shoulda known the straight axle was bullship.
Always liked the looks of the 55 better.
I think 3 grand is about right for this ride,, It has some good bones ,,, some bad bones,,, A running engine is a bonus,,, I love the remote starter control box,, You are loved,,, And don't think that your brand new drum brake tool went unnoticed,,, I still have mine from back when a 56 chevy was not all that old,, :-)
Oh man that 24 volt truck just got stored in the old brain cavity. That was awesome and worked very well holy crap why didn’t I think of that.
You should try to charge that battery for fun. I got a 17 year old one that had been sitting for 9 years to test good without changing the acid, but that's my personal best. I have never tried one that old. It might be fun.
Good idea
6 in a row stuff and things. Mostly things. Never doubt the 235.
westport wa.state here
just got up 330 pm another rain day. around here its called liquid sunshine. i got there liquid .

Mr. Mortske, your assistant Mopar Joe, is very impulsive, I saw the dealer land very funny!!
My uncle worked at Delco Moraine in Dayton. Small world
Cool
Man I love the old 235!
Maybe Dan and Dani at DD Speed Shop can convert it into a 2-door for you 🙂 🙂
I want to buy several of your cars.....but this one, I want the most!!!!!
Could be yours
@@MortskeRepair If I can hit the lotto Ill buy all of the $35,000 cars and give you a lot more room!!!!!🤣
Had a 55 when I was in high school. 1967. Didn't have it long, somebody wanted it worse than me. Traded me a 68 Yamaha 305 Big Bear scrambler straight across. Enjoyed the motorcycle
I really love the Chevy. Nice one. Polar is the flavored water of the ether world
Wes would probably grab a chunk of aluminum and make a piston for it and over boar master. That guy is a master of many things
Most likely
It’s not a Mortske episode unless there’s a fire somewhere!!!!
Scam everyone knows Mortske doesn’t know anything about social media!!
Yup
* Damn it Mortske us subscribers are out here watching you ! Do It right ! ... Or at least ... Tragically Wrong ! ... Lol ! 🍻👊😎👍🍻
I'm impressed that was pretty good 😊
Glad you finally got it running & good choice in soda,I also drink Dr Pepper
Nice
Interested in G body Cutlass, need more info.....? Can you mention it in another vid perhaps
Artificial shade. That's hilarious!😂
Trent! You Are The Man!
Is funny u talk about this ones age. I just turned 52 in september. Was born in 71.
Red tag on the generator is a 6 volt, green tag is a 12 volt.
good job getting it to run.wouldnt need much to be a daily driver.i agree about leaving the exterior the way it is.hey did you send those license plates back?
no but I got them off!
They are called standard screwdrivers! Its the term old timers use from way back when new fangled phillips drivers arrived....them new ones and the standard
Missed the floor mouse at 19.30 . Where is Duff?
The foot feed, so called when the throttle control was moved from the column to the floor. The more you know.
Good info!!
Great vid 👌,thanks for sharing 👍💨💨
No problem 👍
T3 headlights
The beam is angled 3 degrees down and 3 degrees inward.
Did you purposely forget to leave the plates so you could bring back another car? I saw a few gems there.
Maybe
Vanessa Angel was in weird science?? I fell for her in Stargate SG1
Nuce
Im sure that Duff planed it to get a ride in the box
probably
That was vintage dirt on that valve cover 😢 worth negative tens of dollars!!!
No way!
Hi love you guts and determination, another great video 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Summer is too short Mortske.
Definitely
Duff your best friend
my first car dad gave me in 80s was a blown up 55 chevy wagon not a nomad it had a small block in it that was destroyed.never got to drive it i was broke at 16
When all of the valve stemms are right down, thats how you know the starter motor is good
Absolutely
1:45:06 yeah I gotta keep up on the laundry if I wanna wear my next level Mortske shirt because my wife will grab it Every Time if I don't get to it first. Don't think that shirt's ever been on a hanger in the closet yet, it's either on her, on me, or in the hamper!
Better get some more!
ive got a 57 210 2 door post roller thats been in the dry for the last 40 years that id like to trade for a 55 2 dr. post in equal shape ,and I still have the original 235 that ran great 40 years ago,, and the very hard to find front seat. I just want another 55.
Hello Mortske and Duff Dog
Lol had to one-up Derek by 3 years, huh? xD Keep up the good work man - I'll make sure to set aside some flexy rad hoses and Cragars for you, and barely secure my Nylocks :)
Much appreciated
por que no. utilizan una bomba de presión para lavar ese motor que es por donde se empieza primero y luego se pasa al líquido antioxidante
God!!How many times to I have to scream "ETHER!!!"?
More
DD speed shop He wood turn it into a two door
That starter box is pretty trick
Why don’t you use your Amazon cooker for cleaning parts?
I do
Did a fan build that? That box rips lol
yup
