He’s a selfish bastard, but so is Luffy. The biggest difference is how they go about it. Luffy is straight forward and brash, Teach is incredibly roundabout and meticulous. Additionally, we never saw him properly before he obtained the yami yami no mi, and that could have warped his personality. As said, it’s the most evil fruit, so for all we know he killed the previous owner in self defence and after eating it decided to claim it as intentional.
i think being who he is, he sailed there and probably explored and did whatever the fuck he wanted. The authority there wasn't having it, so then he fukd them up. Or maybe he just wanted that castle for himself.
What if the D in his name is fake, and just one of his plans that came to fruition? He is extremely meticulous and adding a D to his name is one of the things he could easily do. Whitebeard told him that Teach is not the one that Roger is waiting for.
Also known as selfishness. In other words, you think that people who are so selfish that they put their own goals ahead of the lives of other people are not to be hated? So if someone killed everyone you knew because they wanted something, you would be OK with that? Thats massively stupid.

I've never put much thought into hiw overwhelmingly powerful his 2 devil fruits are going to be. Against any devil fruit user, he can nullify their power and still be able to create quakes and black holes and what not, meaning his opponents would have to rely on just pure raw strength and haki. And we don't even know if Blackbeard has haki abilities or how stronf he is just without the fruits! For the future fight with Luffy, Luffy wouldnt even be able rely on using his gears!

Teach doesn't only look like a pirate, but he is one of the few that acts like one too. He might well be my number 1 favorite character in One Piece. He's truely awesome. ZEHAHAHAHA!
I still want to know how he assembled his crew so quickly after leaving the Whitebeard Pirates. Either he already had the crew planned, which is likely, or he worked really hard like Luffy to assemble a crew
Ash Rhodes he only took 5 people from Impel Down with him. Exclude Shilliew because that was pure coincidence (or fate take it as you will) and he only recruited 4 San Juan Wolf Catarina Devon Avalo Pizarro Vasco Shot He already had the others: Burgess Lafitte Van Auge Doc Q Stronger (the horse) And now Kuzan.
I have one BIG question, "who decides who gets the D in the name" ?? I mean in the one piece world e.g. does the government decide who gets the D maybe Idk
They are from the original D tribe that’s was supposedly wiped out they all have the same name from their family like all Luffy family is monkey D. All Blackbeard lineage is Marshall D. .. ace family is portages D.... Gol D. ... jaguar D
Luffy's current training with the seastone cuffs will be crucial in helping him be strong enough to fight Kaido, but eventually Teach as well. Also, dat new beard tho
I've been wondering this for a bit, could the reason that Teach didn't want to face Gecko Moria in Chapter 924 actually be because of Moria's ability to control shadows? Could Moria actually use the darkness fruit against the master of the fruit and manipulate the darkness being created as if it were merely shadow? This would force Teach to rely solely on his left hand and the stolen Quake powers. Not the ideal way to face off against the former Warlord and his army of undead.
His patience really paid-off. He got the devil fruit that he dreamt of eating and was able to get another ability by killing Whitebeard. Being a gambler, he knows how to play his cards right.
Whats funny is if you know actual history Edward Thatch and Edward Teach are really the same person. Blackbeard. There was some debate over how he spelled his name. I like that they really went with it in the Anime as a kind of a little nod.
I think for some unknown reason his mind had to develop multiple personality disorder, and each of his personality get fruit they said his body was weird but what if they meant his mind which makes his body act weird. And the personality with the will of D just hasn't debuted yet

"If Teach wasn't a pirate he would have become an archeologist" This is interesting to think about. If their world wasn't ruled by elites driving people to piracy I wonder where many of the characters would have ended up.
There's SBS page in dressrosa that explains the Straw Hat's job if they were in the modern era. If I remember, Luffy would be a firefighter and Nami would be a pre-school teacher
Here it is Luffy-Firefighter Usopp-Graphic designer Robin-Flight Attendant Zoro-Police officer Sanji-Stylist Franky-Pilot Nami-Nursery school teacher Chopper-Grade school teacher Brook-Detective
The only dude who deserves to become a Pirate King. Sad that 95% of the fandom are typical shonen wankers who don't even understand the perfection of a character that Blackbeard is.
Finnaly! Dude is both brain and brawl. I love how oda put hints here and there for us to foreshadow his true power/nature. I mean BB move the plot to a whole other level without being shown to much. Just imagine his patience to search for yami yami DF for 20years without even a certainty he will find it. He doesnt gain much respect he deserves. A Man has a dream and a man willing to do any necessery means to pursue it and that's justify because he is a fucking pirate. They take what they want through brute force the same as luffy's. This show how much he hold up to the Will of D.
Teach stated "people's dreams never die" which is an iconic speech but feel there is more to that. Otherwise, why would teach tell Luffy, Zoro, and Nami that before they parted ways.
A theory. Rocks D Xebec probably originally had the Yami Yami No Mi and therefore his son would make sense to want to do whatever he could to find and acquire it after his dad died in the God Valley incident 40 years ago. Similar to how Luffy felt about Ace's Mera Mera no MI.
I was expecting a little more from this video. There is a mystery with this character. Zoro and Luffy referred to him as "they". His flag is composed of three skulls. We still waiting what was the meaning of all that.
Side note: Durng impel down, BB tried recruiting several prisoners which set off One Piece Stampede which Douglas Bullet escapes from whom coincidentally fights Luffy
I think Teach is actually not really that evil. He’s more chaotic neutral. He has goals and he does whatever it takes to achieve it. Sure he has very little loyalty but everything he does is just to achieve his goals, nothing more nothing less. No random terrorization, no random killings, every move has a purpose, he’s pretty smart. Unlike guys like Doflamingo who was just evil for no reason.
Yup. He is a dream driven character the same as luffy. Luffy face every enemy head on as it is fit his dream to become the freeast man in the world and BB's, who knows? That's a mistery to be looking forward to.
No. He is really evil. He is a selfish bastard, that doesn't care whom he hurts, which is exactly what evil is.Chaotic neutral would be someone like Mihawk. Mihawk does care about people, but he cares about his freedom even more.
Maria Smith I gotta disagree. He’s ruthless but I don’t equate that to evil. We’ll find out more about his motivations eventually and that will tell more of the story.
@@blacklite911 His ruthlessness isn't what makes him evil. His selfishness and treacherous nature is what makes him evil. His motivations don't matter. His actions speak for themselves. The end does not justify the means. He has absolutely no honor of any kind. There is literally nothing he will not do, and no one he will not sacrifice to get what he wants. That is a perfect definition for evil. If you are willing to stab your team mates in the back, kill people who you invite into your home. He is treacherous and selfish, which equals evil. In Teach's mind the only important thing is his dream, and other people are just pawns to get there.
Maria Smith well I wouldn’t say he’s all selfish. He treats his crew well, which is way more than you can say for many other captains. And he believes in freedom
Luffy's current training regime in Wano suddenly makes a lot more sense. Learning to master Haki without his Devil Fruit powers will be essential when fighting the one person to who Devil Fruit powers mean nothing.
I think Teach is Kaido and Big Mom's son. Kaido is an Oni which are descendants of Oars. Oars, Oars Jr and Blackbeard wear 3 skulls. God Valley happened 40 years ago. Blackbeard is 40. Rocks D Xebec disappeared 40 years ago. Big Mom has the power over souls. Big Mom puts Rocks soul in her baby Teach giving him multiple personalities and the knowledge/plan to get the Yami Yami no mi and take over the world. Rocks knowing he was "too early" for the ancient weapons to be born has Big Mom transfer his soul into Teach so he would be ready for when they do. So long story short. Blackbeard is Kaido and Big Moms son who shares a body with Rocks D Xebec.
happy birthday blackbeard!!! (love his look in the timeskip looking more like the actual blackbeard and how his actions regarding his decisions to take advantage of events remind me of ocelot from metal gear in a way.also has the best laugh & one of the best songs in the nippon judan 47 cruise cd's.:3) while likely the weakest of the yonkos(yes i'm including luffy as it seems that blackbeards huge wins are against others not focused/weakened by exhaustion like whitebeard or recklessness like ace who did manage to get a good hit like luffy did,it's more of a take advantage of the situation when it's given which blackbeard really glorifies compared to most shonen jump villains.) it completely makes up for it with his fearsomeness that can really come out of nowhere if your not careful(also helps that he always to me looked like a fusion between bowser & a hippo both are pretty goofy looking but can be dangerous when given a chance.:3) which is why i really love that shanks is one of the few people to take him seriously.(compared to the marines who if they realized the actions he's done even if recently compared to the good guy by comparison strawhats they would've gone after him or sent the warlords after him or to wano instead of wasting their resources fighting them, especially in akainu's case since blackbeard ran from him despite having whitebeards fruit.) i love his speech in mock town and along with not being that antagonistic as many of his actions being more out of pirate pragmatism to get closer to his goal(wasn't even that antagonistic to the strawhats until he found out about luffy's bounty, most of the fight witch ace was due to ace's recklessness when everyone was telling him to leave him be at the time/whitebeard taking to long to heed shank's warning, most of the warlords being just as selfish/arguably worse in terms of actions than teach and he did even if indirectly caused wapol to flee.and if he didn't kill thatch he probably would've gone under the others noses.) as well as him and luffy being very similar in ideals.(both are selfish and destructive with being the pirate king just in blackbeards case a hell of a lot more selfish and callous.) i could see him having a reluctant teeth clenched team up if he weren't to be the final villain of the series or if he lowered his selfishness with his goal.(since until he finds out about luffy's goal i could see him having a different outlook if he lowered his guard and his zanzibar land esque hideout in wano makes me think in a way he wants pirates to be free like luffy but due to his past he wants huge control over it in some way, possibly what the xebec pirates leader wanted as well.)
Blackbeard is one of my favorite characters in One Piece, he’s such an interesting character his goals and what he did to achieve them are in such juxtaposition with his personality at times.
Teach is literally the character that defies established laws within one piece. He’s a logia who can’t fully transform into their element, he’s not like the others who have the name of D, he is often portrayed as weak when he’s actually strong. I really think he’s being set up to be the perfect opposite to Luffy. Like the Sauske to Naruto. Teach and Luffy have similar characteristics and philosophies but the same time are almost complete opposite to each other.
No. He is not a realist. The idea that the means justify the end is as old as mankind, and completely wrong. It just means he is a psycho, and worse, a coward.
I was rewatching the anime and came across the scene in Mock Town after his speech where both Luffy and Zoro refer to Teach as “they” implying there are more than one people instead of “he” correcting Nami. And my mind just broke for not having noticed it earlier.
The first time I saw him appearing with his crew I thought they meant his crew was nearby. But after Marco’s statement of his “abnormal body” I really don’t know what to think.
Could Black Beard be working with the celestial dragons. Why? He knows about DFs. The contacted CP0 to attack Dragons base. He does not fight Marines, he actual ran from The Fleet Admiral. He also have some interest in Luffy, before Luffy became the 5 th Emperor. History said The real Black Beard worked for the government too.
Why would he fight a fucking fleet admiral if he has nothing to gain for? Ffs can u see his character already after all this arc? He is the type of guy who do shit calculated.
Hear me out... LinLin got her Devil Fruit by eating the user of that fruit. Maybe there is a loophole because you don’t eat the fruit, just the user. We don’t see what Blackbeard does to Whitebeard. Idk if they showed a body afterwards, but perhaps just the heart of the user matters. Thoughts?
No. Once they are in you, they are in you. And there is something un natural about Lin Lin appetite and eating ability too. Its not simple. But that isn't it. I am sure Big Mom would die if she ate another devil fruit.....which makes me think that is the way to kill her.
Another Funfact u can google: Real Life Blackbeard = Edward Thatch (also called Edward Teach - also he prob had a complete different name but that aside) In OP Marshall D. Teach killed Thatch and became Blackbeard.
*Back in Jaya Arc , when Blackbeard was introduced in Mock Town I had no idea that this man would be one of the biggest antagonists in One Piece*

Additionally, we never saw him properly before he obtained the yami yami no mi, and that could have warped his personality. As said, it’s the most evil fruit, so for all we know he killed the previous owner in self defence and after eating it decided to claim it as intentional.
I don't think being a D automatically makes you a good person.
i think being who he is, he sailed there and probably explored and did whatever the fuck he wanted.

When blackbeard came he brought destruction when luffy came brought hope
To me Black beard is the definition of a true pirate. Definitely my favorite villains on One Piece
Teach is a character I can't bring myself to hate. He's a man who's working towards his dreams no matter what the cost.
Also known as selfishness. In other words, you think that people who are so selfish that they put their own goals ahead of the lives of other people are not to be hated? So if someone killed everyone you knew because they wanted something, you would be OK with that? Thats massively stupid.
@@thatoneguyftl Teach is, sure. But people with a bad understanding of right and wrong are most certainly real enough. And the fact that at least 3 people are stupid enough to think that a guy that does every dishonest, cruel, and self serving thing out there isn't really so bad, because he is enthusiastic about his selfishness isn't a good feeling.

@Antonio Rosario Yes but the way he does things to achieve his dream is evil. He is like Hitler
Dominic Frazier we know he’s at least strong enough to injure Shanks before he had any DF powers, so pretty damn strong
Maybe he would fight 3 Devil Fruit at the same time like Akainu, Luffy and Kizaru at once for example.

Teach doesn't only look like a pirate, but he is one of the few that acts like one too. He might well be my number 1 favorite character in One Piece. His laugh and voice overall is awesome, his introduction and subsequent rise to power is intriguing, he's never Luffy's enemy and yet he seems to be his only real nemesis behind the scene, you see so much of him yet still know so little. A lot of One Piece characters are named after famous pirates.
Teach definitely looks and acts like a pirate.

I have one BIG question, "who decides who gets the D in the name" ?? I mean in the one piece world e.g. does the government decide who gets the D maybe Idk
OMG yes, I've been thinking about this for a while.
XD the D
They are from the original D tribe that’s was supposedly wiped out they all have the same name from their family like all Luffy family is monkey D. All Blackbeard lineage is Marshall D. .. ace family is portages D.... Gol D. ... jaguar D
Brian Ndinda oda decides
Lil Tyquil O D. A decides

This will always be one of my favorite scenes. I especially like the manga panel "people's dreams never end!"
Luffy's current training with the seastone cuffs will be crucial in helping him be strong enough to fight Kaido, but eventually Teach as well.
Also, dat new beard tho
Blackbeards' animal motif is the hippopotamus. Big and fat. toothgaps, looks goofy but one of the most dangerous things alive.
You should do a Kaido Explained (One Piece 101)
He'll do it after the wano arc, we dont know enough about him yet

Nope
Nobody likes a bad person turn into the thing that our good guy main character wanted to
It would just be boring, not popular
Teach stated "people's dreams never die" which is an iconic speech but feel there is more to that. Otherwise, why would teach tell Luffy, Zoro, and Nami that before they parted ways.
Zehahahahahahahahahaha
The dreams never end isn’t inconsistent, especially when you notice Luffy and Zoro reaction to Blackbeard
A theory.
Rocks D Xebec probably originally had the Yami Yami No Mi and therefore his son would make sense to want to do whatever he could to find and acquire it after his dad died in the God Valley incident 40 years ago.
Similar to how Luffy felt about Ace's Mera Mera no MI.
5:04 Well, that and it doesn't come with the nerf effect Seastone has
I was expecting a little more from this video.
I love ur vids hope you keep doing what you love been watching since 365 subs and want to get past volume 20 XD. And maybe devil fruits explained?
Thank you very much! I've been meaning to do one on devil fruits for a while actually!
It's impressive how much the grand line review has changed
In that moment TEACH begged WB not to kill him...
That was seriously a surprising scene
Mate you are doing great work , keep it up and I would like to say thanks 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
1:56 Teach joined the Whitebeard pirates at the age of 12 not 16.
happy birthday blackbeard!!! (love his look in the timeskip looking more like the actual blackbeard and how his actions regarding his decisions to take advantage of events remind me of ocelot from metal gear in a way.also has the best laugh & one of the best songs in the nippon judan 47 cruise cd's.:3)
while likely the weakest of the yonkos(yes i'm including luffy as it seems that blackbeards huge wins are against others not focused/weakened by exhaustion like whitebeard or recklessness like ace who did manage to get a good hit like luffy did,it's more of a take advantage of the situation when it's given which blackbeard really glorifies compared to most shonen jump villains.) it completely makes up for it with his fearsomeness that can really come out of nowhere if your not careful(also helps that he always to me looked like a fusion between bowser & a hippo both are pretty goofy looking but can be dangerous when given a chance.:3) which is why i really love that shanks is one of the few people to take him seriously.(compared to the marines who if they realized the actions he's done even if recently compared to the good guy by comparison strawhats they would've gone after him or sent the warlords after him or to wano instead of wasting their resources fighting them, especially in akainu's case since blackbeard ran from him despite having whitebeards fruit.)
i love his speech in mock town and along with not being that antagonistic as many of his actions being more out of pirate pragmatism to get closer to his goal(wasn't even that antagonistic to the strawhats until he found out about luffy's bounty, most of the fight witch ace was due to ace's recklessness when everyone was telling him to leave him be at the time/whitebeard taking to long to heed shank's warning, most of the warlords being just as selfish/arguably worse in terms of actions than teach and he did even if indirectly caused wapol to flee.and if he didn't kill thatch he probably would've gone under the others noses.) as well as him and luffy being very similar in ideals.(both are selfish and destructive with being the pirate king just in blackbeards case a hell of a lot more selfish and callous.)
i could see him having a reluctant teeth clenched team up if he weren't to be the final villain of the series or if he lowered his selfishness with his goal.(since until he finds out about luffy's goal i could see him having a different outlook if he lowered his guard and his zanzibar land esque hideout in wano makes me think in a way he wants pirates to be free like luffy but due to his past he wants huge control over it in some way, possibly what the xebec pirates leader wanted as well.)
Blackbeard is one of my favorite characters in One Piece, he’s such an interesting character his goals and what he did to achieve them are in such juxtaposition with his personality at times.
I feel like blackbeard gonna have multiple devil fruits abilities, and he gonna end of being the final boss for the strawhats
jeez thanks for the review muselk!
he's a Smart character.
No one expected him to be one of the biggest antagonists in one piece
Teach and akainu are my favorite villains.

Kurohige Beard is always getting bigger as the legend of the original blackbeard.
Love how in one piece even the most evil characters have a human side to them only regret is not watching the show earlier.
I have a feeling That Blackbeard is being set up as One Piece's final antagonist, or at least one of the penultimate villains.
Nobody really talks about the fact that Shanks' scar has three distinct cuts which also plays into Teech being three people in one body.
I'd love to see you go through the balckbeard pirates next :P
Teach is a realist! Absolutely love this guy!
No. He is not a realist. The idea that the means justify the end is as old as mankind, and completely wrong. It just means he is a psycho, and worse, a coward.
Blackbread's only weakness is being eaten. Luffy will eat him most likely with ham and cheese on him.
Vore yes~
So since teach has two devil fruit abilities, does he just plummet to the bottom of any body of water if he happens to enter one?
I feel like Blackbeard knows the will of d because he kinda just leaves certain thing ups to fate because he knows of his meant to be the king he will
teach can absorb people maybe that's how he has multiple devil fruits
Anybody else get the vibe that he stole Whitebeard ' s power from canibalism? That's why they covered him up.

If he's working with them then he's just using them.

Thoughts?
Also the notion that the dark dark fruit can make someone "as if they haven't eaten a devil fruit at all"
;)
Tnecniw That’s because if you have the Yami Yami no Mi and you touch a fruit user their abilities get drained, like he did to Ace.
he probably use the the power of Yami to absorb Gura.
Like of he only absorbed a finite amount of vibration from whitebeard body. And soon run out of gura gura no mi power
No. Once they are in you, they are in you. And there is something un natural about Lin Lin appetite and eating ability too. Its not simple. But that isn't it. I am sure Big Mom would die if she ate another devil fruit.....which makes me think that is the way to kill her.
Another Funfact u can google:

In OP Marshall D. Teach killed Thatch and became Blackbeard.
