    Thank you. I’ve been depressed for three years now and starting to feel sick. It just hurts to be alive sometimes, can’t get out of bed. But I finally got the balls to search this up. I’m going to try this tomorrow, and the next day, and the next till I feel better.

    The brain listens to what we have been telling it. YES! Depression is not what we are, we learn to be and we can unlearn as well.

    • @BreakthroughMindsets
      @BreakthroughMindsets  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's right, you don't "have" depression, YOU aren't depressed, but rather, you produce depression because you are good at doing specific things inside your own mind, whether you're aware of it or not. The result in feeling depressed, or being in a depressed state of mind. What you think and believe about depression can help you or hurt you in overcoming depression. Watch for unproductive habitual and conditioned ways of thinking about your world.

    Oh boy. As far as neural networks go, some of us have created a path with negative thinking and some of us have a full on interstate running through there. I think it’s really important to understand there is no magic cure. You can’t get better without a willingness to do the messy work. Also, negative thinking can be like an addiction.

      Thank you for the comment, great insight Missy. When you find something that works for you to do the work, the work becomes doable. Even satisfying and enjoyable! (entertaining at least) Imagine looking forward to life's challenges, and picking the ones that will make the biggest difference.

    Change 3 things:
    1. Less aggressive, more assertive.
    2. Less messy, more organized (paperwork especially).
    3. More energy, less sluggishness.

    • @BreakthroughMindsets
      @BreakthroughMindsets  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It sounds like you could use more energy. Depression can lower energy, assertiveness, and inhibition. The more you practice depressing important changes you want and need in life the more you'll need to force to get what you want. The more effort it takes, the less energy you have. As you practice the changes you want in your life, you get more of what you want. Energy, assertiveness, and organization.

    • @BreakthroughMindsets
      @BreakthroughMindsets  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those are such great goals, and totally doable William! Attitude starts to get better automatically as we stop mechanically seeking from others what we already have. The approval and acceptance you seek from others will never give you what you need. The gift, is conditioning yourself to look in the right direction, inside, and to stop trying to get what you already have. Looking stupid is only a thought in the mind, it's not real. Thank you so much for sharing!

    It is all depend how much the brain is inflamed, and how much some part of it is damaged..nutrition first, good fuel for the brain, and then person can think and act differently 😊 always find a help, pills can save life😊
    All the best

    There is truth in many things but the opinions of this video are a bit reductive. What is being glossed over here is that trauma can create measurable damage to the nervous system which interferes with the body’s ability to self regulate. If the gas pedal of your car is stuck open and the brakes (the parasympathetic nervous system) burn out, singing a happy song isn’t going to fix the underlying problem. The source of anxiety and depression is often a neurological response rather than being purely emotional. We don’t expect people to heal a broken arm through positive thinking and neither should we imply that mental illness is any different. Too often, we look for simple solutions and wind up blaming the patient if the treatment fails. A more comprehensive approach would include an anti inflammatory diet, vagus nerve toning, and possibly Transcraneal Magnetic Stimulation. I agree that medication is not always effective or even necessary but it can certainly be used on a short term basis to help stabilize a person who is in decline or threatening harm to self or others.

    How do I find out more about neuroplasticitiy to get me out my depression prison. I need help!

    • @misternikon
      @misternikon 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've heard of neuroplasticity years ago. What I would do now? Believe it or not I'd get on ChatGPT, the AI site. Start asking it questions. Ask for a second answer to the one it just answered. Go on TH-cam and find a SHORT video on how to frame your answers. If you can hold your attention for a long video go with that. My attention span is terrible. Print out as much as you can. I'm in no way a mental health professional. Just keep digging. You'll find something that will give you which way(s) to go next. Good luck!

    The thoughts that brings me down the most is “my ex she wAs so perfect” ,“i messed it up” , “i will never have that kind of love again”. Etc. Everything i do my mind goes back to her in the most stupidest way. For example i could be cooking rice and will think “awww she used to cook rice”. I think i have gone crazy? Not sure but my life has been ruined for the last 2 years. Can you give me one practical tip please. Thank you

    • @Totalintegratedtherapy
      @Totalintegratedtherapy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey sonat2008! I don't think you're crazy, but we can all have crazy thoughts and beliefs after a big breakup. You know how you said "I messed it up!" I bet some of those beliefs are wrecking some emotional havoc, because they aren't true. Like, "I'll never have love like that again." Be aware of how you condition your mind to believe certain things that cause stress and depression. It probably hurts deeply when you think you'll never have loved like that again. If you didn't believe that to begin with, would that thought still bother you? If you beat yourself up to feel bad with a slanted view about what happened, chances are that you might not recognize or see what you need to learn in order to grow from what happened. Those negative and harsh things you said to yourself above, that you believe, are you sure they are true? Try this: Write down 50 reasons why the relationship didn't last is a good thing. No judgement, but find 50 benefits of having decreased involvement with your ex. Good luck mate, let me know how that goes, and sorry for the long winded reply.

    I love spirituality and neuroscience, but what really helped me to feel better is changing my diet to highly plantbased keto, zero processed sugar, no gluten, do intermittent and prolonged fasting....I take nutritional yeast for B1 and B3 deficiency which causes depression and anxiety, I also take vitamin D....I recommend dr Berg's videos....

      Exactly keto :), because the brain become inflamed, and need good nutrition, I try everything cbt therapy, ect..but it is like broken car, you cant function any more like you cant drive the car without fuel.
      Dr Berg is the best❤

    The stupid innane wallpaper music is counterproductive and belittles whatever good content there is. The lay person talk is partly ok, but neuroscience would pinpoint it much better. See Dr. Professor Robert Sapolsky for a much better understanding.
