      To be honest, even though after 1 year of being bombarded by these powerful handhelds, I'm still not convinced of their actual usefulness. All video reviews are of them being used indoors, my PC or console is always Infront of me and when they aren't, I'm on my phone. Where would i use these ?

      People are saying that as the magnets get weak they start showing wrong inputs or in extreme cases drifting. Once you get hull joysticks it's down hill from there but the down hill in swich or other joycons is steep.

    • @PhantomPhoton
      @PhantomPhoton ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@shlokshah5379 - Do you have any links to materials showing that the magnets on hall effect sensors weaken over time? I'm very interested as I understood that Texas Instruments resolved the issue with sensor drift due to equipment age a number of years ago, and that in devices like consumer electronics this wasn't really a concern in any case (in industrial settings, a sensor may be exposed to thousands of activations per minute 24/7, while home electronics are put under far less demanding loads).

      @@PhantomPhoton eta prime touched a bit on this I think but not in any depth I fear. uh what? FPS for those games is above the decks consistently. How is the deck better?
      The steam deck's endless delays are making it less and less competitive against smaller niche handhelds - both in terms of price and performance. Once Zen 4 mobile is out, it will become genuinely bad value - and most people are still waiting for their reservations to come through!
      Really, the deck is another example of Valve loosing interest and letting a brilliant project fizzle out and rot. RDNA 2 would have been game changing in a handheld if the deck wasn't delayed to death - but even current Zen 3+ Vega graphics have caught upto the dated implementation of RDNA 2, plus the zen 2 CPU is a bottleneck for many (though not all) games.
      By the time it becomes widely available, Zen 4 mobile (when its released) will mean that even for its low price, the deck will be bad value against current hardware.

    For now, I have all my needs covered (Razer Raiju Mobile + Snap 870 phone for portable emulation, mid range gaming laptop as a PC), but I can see myself ditching all that for an x86 handheld in the future - if they can run 720p low now, at some point 1080p mid wil be possible - and this looks decent even on a 4k TV.

    • @seouljah760
      @seouljah760 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Like what the other ppl said, 350 nits wouldn't make a difference. But OLED inherently has better contrast. Blacks are darker without washing out brighter parts of the screen. AMOLED is much better at this. OLED in general does not have backlights. Most TVs/monitors have a backlight grid, the more lights per row/column, the better the localized brightening/dimming. Cheap TVs might have 12 while better ones might have 24+. You can't really do this on small screens. That's all part of the HDR experience. I doubt HDR would make much difference here, and OLED doesn't really benefit.

The Loki / Loki Max are comparably priced with Air / Air Pro 5600 and 5800 models, have significantly improved RDNA2 graphics performance compared with 5000 series Vega graphics, a slightly larger display (6 inch), and costs less than GPD's new WIn Max 2, especially if you were an Odin backer!

    Nice review, this device definitely looks pretty sweet but a few important questions in no given order: Can you install the games directly to the micro sd and run them off the card?
    Do you happen to know what capacity the micro sd card can go up to? Also considering its using window os, can you install windows apps and software onto the device? Is it using a full windows home version or the s version (like the watered down windows version on some tablets) and does the device offer Bluetooth capability to connect to peripherals like a keyboard or mouse or speakers etc
    With respect to the OS, they say they will add ayaneo os, does this mean they will completely eliminate the windows os option?
    And Is it possible to dual boot and install android onto a device like this as well?
    Also it would be very nice to have a micro hdmi out in order to have the option to display the games on a larger screen / monitor etc
    How is the quality of the audio speakers and what is it like to use a headset with this device?
    How long does it take to fully charge the device and can you use a power bank to charge it?
    Does it have a microphone so you can speak to other players during online gaming? Is it even possible to stream the gaming with the device (yes it has no face camera)?
    And finally if you do order this device, any information on the shipping costs, customs etc?

    • @TakiUdon
      @TakiUdon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should support up to the new 2TB cards. You can install any apps that you want onto the device and it is a standard home version.
      Going to quick fire the rest of your questions:
      Yes, it has BT.
      AYANEO OS doesn't exist yet, but you'd be able to dual boot it when they end up making it.
      You can use either of the two USB ports with a DP to HDMI cable to connect to a larger screen.
      I'll touch on the speakers in my full review.
      Using a headset is my preferred option right now due to how I use the device.
      I'll cover charging stats in the full review.
      I don't believe that it has a microphone, but I'd need to confirm. You could stream anything you want off this device with software options.
      Shipping costs are public on the IGG page. You can see the charge for each country even without putting any of your real information in. As for customs, it depends on where you live. If you are in the US, you are fine.

      @@TakiUdon thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, much appreciated.
      I’m just curious what the ayaneo OS will offer (much prefer windows only) and if it’s required to be installed in the future. It doesn’t seem to make sense to have both operating systems available at the same time as it will take up valuable storage memory?
      Also for the games do they need to it run off directly from the internal storage or can they be loaded and run off from a 2tb micro sd? Can you also for instance plug in an external usb drive and use that to run off the games instead of using the micro SD?
      The reason why I’m asking is that by doing it this way, we don’t need to spend extra money and buy the device with the larger internal storage etc.
      Also would like to know how smooth the online gaming is, for example if you install games like battlefield 2042…. And what is like speaking to players online etc….. then I’m also curious whether this device can handle heavyweight games like cyberpunk or ms flight sim on it or would it just crash?
      This is the first device I’m actually really interested in based on its design, form factor and it’s potential functionality not just as a mobile gaming device
