In this video, we test out the new AYANEO Air in docked Mode, Basically turning this awesome handheld into a full fledge Decktop PC! We test out some PC games like Elden RIng, God Of war, Cyberpunk 2077, and PS3 emulation using RPCS3. Powered by A Ryzen 5 5560U backed by 16GB ram this is a great little handheld for emulation for sure this Is an amazing handheld gaming device!

Dunno man, in peppa pig you can see that the cable connected to the monitor comes from behind the table, maybe he's using a 3090 ti setup under the table to get that level of performance

There are so many handhelds coming out this year. Not to mention they are fairly affordable. I pre-ordered the Ayn Loki and I can't wait for a video for it.
Do yourself a favour and get the Steamdeck, I don't see any of these other models lasting long term.

The reason I went with the Ayn Loki was because it had a higher cpu clock which helps a lot with emulation.

I was literally thinking the same thing when I watched a review on it yesterday with my nephew and brother. A Nintendo Switch sized desktop that fits in your pocket - INSANE! AWESOME!

The idea of having a handheld windows PC is so awesome. I've already used a windows tablet, but something about being able to have it fully in your hands not having to put it down to type something is wild.
I do like the dual purpose dream aspect of this. Throwing it in your bag for work and having it docked for “real work” when needed

I think this would be an amazing device IF it just had the RDNA2 graphics instead of Vega. Price and form factor seem worth as it is, but RDNA2 is just needed imo comparing to the steam deck
Yeah the terrible battery life and slower performance while costing more definitely makes it a hard buy imo
R 6600u will be awesome in this with 6 RDNA 2 CUs and DDR5.

Funny I put that peppa pig game on my modded ps4 for my son recently...didn't even know they had one till then.
Cooling might workout better for handheld Pcs over laptops.
Large vents at the back of the device are not obstructed by the ground and possibly more air flow. Attach an eGPU the graphics workload can be handled by an external device.
I really hope this format sticks at it's own category and gets competitive enough to lower the prices. I see myself dropping any other format (as laptops) for this on mobile with docks as desktops... 😏

tip : software like fence or reicon is very usefull to keep you desktop shortcut layout, especially if you use thing like these handheld with many different monitor
I have the AYANEO next pro and use it as my only pc in both docked and handheld, I know they are different systems but I am just confirming what was said about using a handheld as a desktop.
Maybe it's worth trying to disable multithreading in the BIOS to increase the operating time and conduct comparative tests with and without multithreading?
Can you disable Multithreading on this APU? I have a Thinkpad with a very similar APU and I cannot disable the Multithreading like I could with my old Ryzen 7 3700u. Btw when I did that on that old PC with the 3700u, I did not notice anything beneficial for power draw. Maybe 1 or 2 watts at best. I live off grid with solar power so power consumption is huge for me. It seems like AMD already puts a focus on optimal power consumption from out of the box for their APUs. I can underclock and overclock using APU Tuning Utility. That is what seems to affect power consumption the most, +/- clock speed.

OK this handheld is definitely impressive! More impressive in some ways than the steam deck! Especially with its similar $650 price tag for the 16 GB RAM 512 GB storage version.
But Steam Deck is the final price at home, while Aya Neo is not (you have to add taxes, customs, etc).
Going from the playing the Odin pro to playing the anbernic win600 I was expecting bad battery life but it still shocked me how fast they drain at high TDP and most people will want these for AAA gaming so the high TDP is a must most the time.
Yeah I stream stadia and GeForce now on my Odin they look great and the battery lasts ages u just can't stream all games that's the problem with streaming at the mo, I'm just waiting on my steam deck either this month or next for me
Pc gaming is too demanding
Don't understand why you would want these for AAA gaming. Seems like the worst use case for all these devices.
i would want this for older AAA games and indies, no newer AAA games. I'm guessing 3 hours of battery, which is enough for me
Now we just need a Ryzen 6000 chip in it with USB4, then attach it to an eGPU.

Love the look of the ayaneo air, but I already have a 5900hx device. I'll wait for the next gen, an air with a 6000 series chip will be WAY better with the newer graphics and ddr 5.
But way more expensive
The catch22 here is if this doesn't sell then there won't be a successor... and it was probably in development stage for long enough where they had to make decision to commit to older chip that is available rather than indefinitely waiting for access to latest generation. It's unfortunate reality of today.

W the newer 6000 series chips coming soon that will be significantly more powerful, I see little point in getting one of these. Will probably run cooler too at a lower wattage, good for this form factor.

I'd honestly love to see some of these reviews briefly mention 1080p (maybe even 4K) video editing in Resolve/Premiere. Some OBS streaming would be the cherry on top. Not a "demand" (beggars can't be choosers) of course...but just a request.
There are probably a few people wondering if they can actually stream, capture gameplay, and do some basic editing with these too.

Battery life is the Achilles’ heel of this kind of device
battery life's the problem for me, none of these handhelds can compete with the switch at battery life sadly
either we'll have to get better battery tech that can hold more capacity, or have ARM dominate and replace x86 to the point game devs make games for arm hardware, both of these options can take decades

don’t forget battery also an issue, high end triple A games 1hr-1 and half hr, not that good when using it as handheld

I wonder if this will actually make my ignored gen 3 ipad pro useful again? If i can get Duet display to work, then the ipad will be the external monitor. So when I travel, I have an ayaneo for gaming (mostly emulation), an ipad pro for media consumption and then if I need to, I can hook them up and have a 'desktop' to some some 'work' (mostly Microsoft office). Very interesting.

Tbh this could be the best handheld pc or one of the best for sure, they just need to fix the battery life though, I heard that it only lasts like 1-2 hours.

@@Agenthoneydew33 the Steamdeck is definitely the one to get.. The architecture is superior meaning it's going to natively run a lot mote games then this Chinese thing. I suggest grabbing the base model deck and a 512gb - 1TB micro sd card with it. Not only is it the cheapest open but you'll have an open m.2 slot that you can install your own ssd whenever. Just my opinion though

Would it be crazy to make a hand held with a small latch cover on the back that opens up to a piece of copper connected to the heat pipes. Then you could make a dock that was USBC, a stand, and also docked a cooler to the copper. Then you just crank the TDP up since you’ll have way more cooling and AC power.

Ok, so in the description you talk about the *IC Chip* being rated for 18 wats, but throughout the video you talk about 'TDP' being 23 watts. So are these 2 different numbers, is it safe to actually run the system at TDP 23 Watts and not exceed the IC Chip's 18 Watts?

Important question about Docked Mode. Does it continue to still drain the battery at all when docked or does it bypass the battery? I ask cus I'm worried about battery strain over years of use in Desktop Mode when not even using it as a portable. Would this shorten battery life over time if you use this a lot as a Desktop like that? Kind of like how a Cellphone battery ends up not holding as much of a charge years later? Wondering if Desktop mode would affect that in a negative way.
It’s gonna act like a normal windows laptop just make sure to limit the battery charging to 60% or 80% capacity if it’s gonna be plugged in for a long time so it doesn’t over charge itself

@@skins4thewin they’re supposed to but literally every portable device has this issue for the most part, but mostly laptops u pretty much have to be on top of unplugging it when full to avoid it from happening
