It is clear why astrotrain is out of scale.. Two things.. Cost cutting and cost cutting. The Transformers team knows astrotrain should be bigger, it's the clowns 🤡 sitting at the upper management don't seem to be interested in scale. They are more interested how to save money for the company and hence keep their jobs a little longer.
G1 combiners? Nah we had everything in CW. Thing is that Skyfire "being from bandai" and both Skylynx and Omega were figures from non takara lines, and were depicted as bigger. And since they were all autobots they fall in a unique catagory. As for non US centered cartoon figures only Star Saber would fit the bill. But then again he is also a Autobot. The only two options I can think of are a true PM optimus prime. And a new Sixshot. But both were figures we got in Titans Return. I wonder how fast they want to dip into these figures. Prime is always a big seller, but Sixshot.
I think that broad side should be in Titan class coz technically back in g1 broad side was the same size as Devastator and also because omega was the same size as Devastator and both of these characters got toys in combiner wars and siege in Titan class

My opinion for next Commander Class figure is Star Saber. While I have and like the Masterpiece one, he was only Masterpiece in intricate design work and not actual size. Masterpiece size/scale would have been about 18 inches minimum. We will now wait and see who Commander Class #3 will be.
If they go into Takara's characters, Galaxy Shuttle from Victory even though we just got Sky Lynx. Sky Garry from Battlestars would also be good. For the Decepticons, Overlord would be excellent and Deathsaurus from Victory.
Great review Balt!. As for other commander class figure ideas, I was thinking G1 Thunderwing. He would have both outer shell and inner robot transforming with a 11 inch shell robot and an 7-9 inch inner robot mode. His outer robot mode should look like Geoff Seniors rendition from the last two years of the G1 Marvel comic. We got a deluxe Thunderwing in 2010 that was decent but too small. Commander class would be a great way to update him and do the pretender gimmick justice.
The upwards angle on the shuttle thrusters is due to the whole module being inherently unbalanced, requiring the angle of thrust to maintain stability on launch.
I found it awkward attaching the wings to the shuttle mode. They don't have an obvious attachment, you have to wriggle them on. And attaching the shuttle to the carrier is a little awkward.
For all the complaining that can be done about the deluxe/voyager/leader size classes, there's no doubt that the Commander Class is one of the best things to happen for Siege. It seems to be very experimental and purpose-made as "big dumb toys for collectors that we don't want to downscale for Leader size". It's a sort of neat mixture between Titan and Leader.
I found i like spreading the wings so the round parts of the shuttle wings face forward. It looks more impressive and on mine the blue wing parts are loose so this way negates that issue a bit.
I thought Lynx had no tail. like bobcats? Yet this one has TWO LONG TAILS! Sonic crossover, anyone? . and don't mention Star Saber! you'll attract that guy spamming EVERY TFormers post!!
Well, the next wave after Earthrise will probably be remakes of the G1 season 3 characters. So maybe Rodimus Prime as commander class? He can be a Leader class basic figure as Hot Rod but combines with his camper to become Rodimus. Similar to what they did in Power of the Primes but better this time.
This is a really great figure of a character design that I absolutely hate. Sky-Lynx has just always been just a hair too goofy and lazy for me. Still, happy for those who don’t feel as I do. Crossing my fingers for some Armada updates to come along at some point. Or at the very least, just not G1.
I want Armada tidal wave. but they could do sky Garry, Mazin Zarak from Beast Wars II, Raiden from Headmasters, or do LioKaiser propper. or that robot hologram that Hound conjures in heavy metal war. but the thing is with transformers, is I want something new, not G1 centric, or centric to any previous canon. because let's face it, after Prime, Hasbro has mostly focused on revamping the old and not making anything new.
The original Sky Lynx figure was not from Takara but from another toy company that also made the original Omega Supreme, that's the reason both of them seem a bit odd compared with the rest of figures.
The IDW Trailbreaker is on the box and not a G1 inspired one? They could make some artwork and I mean they did already make a G1 inspired Trailbreaker now, though I wish it weren't a Hoist remold and a new mold completely.. I view them as two similar yet different in even the body shape... Like Hoist can be chubby or something and Trailbreaker is a more buff looking guy, having a big chest
For Commander Class They could do: - Unicron/Primus - A Leader Class with a bunch of accessories, sort of like how some leaders have been basically deluxes w/ accessories - Metroplex since this line is all about base modes.

For the base mode, there's actually a triangular tab on the shuttle that the lynx's ramp can fit onto for a more secure connection.

So far, all the commander class figures have been (or become) autobots. As of this point, the Kingdom commander class is Rodimus Prime.
