Someone needs to start making these again. Best patches ever!
You can thank the epa and environmentalists
Man. I just googled these patches. Best ever you can say it again!!
the nanny state banned them. before this there was a clamp that you poured gasoline in the flash pan to heat them ! wonder if you can still get patches for this type of heat and the electric and steam volcanizes.
@@jakemichael8586 Can we find actual legislation so stating? More likely fear of lawsuits in an era where most people have no sense of personal responsibility. Unless we're talking UK where that fear is so often codified...
@@Comm0ut I have not the letter of the law to say yes, but you can not get the heat clamps for vulcanizing patches. it appears the rubber patches can be had but not the clamps. thare was a clamp in the old days that used a flash pan of burning gasoline before this type of heat shown. hope this clears things up.
Live in the UK first got these in Cyprus when I was a kid now 37 and just had a box of Camel valcanizing patches arrive from the US. Purely a sentimental purchase.
I used those at age 7 and not only repaired my bicycle tubes but the neighbors as well .
The fact my parents knew I carried those patches and matches around at 7 seemed normal then but maybe not the greatest parenting in retrospect lol
No, it was good parenting. Kids now still carry matches/ lighters and find flammable things . Et your dad showed you how and you learned to do it safely then became more independent and self reliant.
Modern nanny state thinking is making less capable individuals
I just bought an unopened tin just like the one in your video-I was hoping they will still work. I remember this kind from when I was a kid, and they worked well-that patch was literally part of the tube when done-no leaks. The glue-on ones available now are junk.
I just got some off ebay
@@Erol89 that's where I got mine
Modern inner tubes come with a slick coating of some kind of silicone so the tube will peel loose from the factory mold. Try using a “Pre-Buff” cleaner before you buff a tube or apply glue
I wish we could still get these. They are the best.
thank you , i used those all the time when i was young back in the 70s my dad had them , im so happy you can still get them !!!!!!!!!
The screw operated cast iron presses for hot patches worked a treat too.
Were can you get the hot patches
good video and good taste in music, sir, cheers!
I am glad the can of “Pre-Buff” cleaner was shown. Modern inner tubes come with the slick silicone residue the factories use as a “mold relief” agent. Ya gotta use pre-buff cleaner before buffing and applying glue or the modern patches will fail pretty often,
I like this. Adhesives containing toluene have the property of melting the tube, so even if the patch is successful, the tube will eventually be damaged again by the bond. I live in Korea, but I plan to order one from eBay.
Is there other similar patch available out there? same typ of patch
i found ONE of these from the '70s in the old garage so I lit it to see if it still would burn. Damn. I should have kept it cuz it did. Still have the clamp and can't find a patch.
You can usually find them on eBay
The things you learn on TH-cam 👍🏻😳🧐😲
I have a sealed canister of these. 1940's.
Dont you need the clamp?
Kaha pr milta he

eBay
You are supposed to clamp the patch down before lighting it.
Yes. Didnt i say this in video? I think i did
👍..❤️..👍
Where did you get the hot patches
eBay

Where can I buy these?
Ebay
@@NNKH2 Thanks!
Would that work on rubber boots
Maybe
Yes I have successfully patched rubber fishing waders
Where can i buy like this patch
We cant find like this patch
Ebay
Where can we find these hot tyre patches?
From where can I buy it please?
An offshore firm could produce the patches and they'd have more use than in fearful Western nations. I'd gladly buy some.
We all want to buy these but they’re from the 1960’s. You can’t buy these anymore
Yes you can on eBay $60-$80 though
Buy link active
What is the product name, I want to buy it in India
Camel Vulcanizing parches. But they don't make these anymore unfortunately.
Good
You be have to have decent common sense to do that , in this day and age some peaple don't have that but they are lawsuit happy , that's why the rest of us have to suffer, what a shame 😞
I use shoglue😂
hello, where can you buy these?
