  • I spent an afternoon and a couple of trips to the store trying to figure out how to fix my driver side window roller without removing the whole window. I used a tip from the LS1Tech forum, trying a 1/4" bolt and pair of fender washers... IF you have any suggestions (aside from just taking it to a body shop), let me know in the comments.
Here's the parts list I keep mentioning in the video, in case you want to give it a shot:
1/4"-20 flat tapered head screw, 1-1/2"
    1/4"-20 nylon lock nut
    A few 1/4" washers
    (2) 1/2" fender washers
    Nylon spacer 0.257" ID x 1/2" OD x 1/4" (Home Depot)
I used Stainless for most of it.
*UPDATE* I tried a few adjustments on the length of this DIY window channel roller and a lot of time adjusting the horizontal track. More time was spent on the "jack studs" though to get the vertical window channel just right. Too close or too far, the new roller would dig into the channel or the window wouldn't close tight. It took a long time. I'll post another video at some point - not sure it will help much, just takes patience. One thing I know is this repair did the trick. Using JB Weld and washers to reinforce the window roller hole (left from the broken rivet) is very important in my opinion.
One month later... Still works just fine. It's a little noisy in the track when operating and rattles a bit when hitting bumps if window is half-way down. But it stays where it should, seals up every time.
