"PRINCE"...
REST IN PEACE
Ten years before this video was made, I was a truck driver on the Purple Rain Tour. Prince treated us like royalty, what a class act.
❤️
@Thomas Venam OP might have meant 20 years ago
That makes me so happy to hear. Yes. He was a class act.
My wife was an Immigration Officer when Prince came through Gatwick. He refused to answer any of the questions that have to be answered. Minders tried to do it for him! Another side to the genius.
@Thomas Venam was gonna say the same r
I miss him so much
Took me 47 years to realise Prince was one of the best musicians that has ever lived
You ain't wrong about that
Never to late to appreciate pure talent
Took you way too long
I can't believe it took you that long.. I've Loved Prince since I was old enough to listen to music! Prince is the most talented man that ever walked the face of this Earth! LOVE HIM
@@amandapoore-counts536 Talent comes in all forms, There has been many mucisians that have awesome talent. Prince was just a true mucisian, he sang from the heart and was able to express himself through music. He understood music and how all instraments accent the other. In my opinion any mucisian that never sings the song the same way twice are the geniuses. If you belive in your heart in the music story you are telling people will hear that and follow. That's the difference between a cookie cutter and a baker.
Prince was the best and I loved the fact that he knew it !!!
Yes🎉
Yes!
Genius. One of the greatest artists of all time.
He was so damned proficient with 27 instruments that his guitar work gets overlooked by all but the best guitar players. Not a huge fan of his music but he blew professional musicians off the stage with their own instrument!!! Damn!!
THIS is what live performance should be! Marvellous, authentic, warm. What an enormous loss to music when this man passed away!
Agreed! Sorry, did I yell?
He's was murdered.
@@RolandmaddogDeschain This isn't true, and what is the point of coming to a positive comment in order to spread negativity?
@user-uy4lr5jl2h Again, I am not interested in people who cannot accept the medical verdicts of qualified persons. Houston died due to drug abuse, made worse by her heart disease. Jackson died due to his abuse of Propofol, carelessly administered by his doctor. Prince died due to his abuse of fentanyl, which he had often purchased under false names. These are the results of thorough medical examination of the deceased. Your opinion has come from your own backside and spending too much time online. Please go away and stop ruining a positive comment with your delusion.

One of my biggest regrets in life was not seeing Prince live. He's an effing musical genius. Top 5 guitarist/lyricist/pure performer of all time.
i saw him twice. sorry yo
Me too. The one show I wish I would’ve seen.
I got lucky. It was a moment I understood why fan girls burst into tears when their obsession showed up on stage.

You truly missed something. I saw him in Buffalo. Unforgettable‼️‼️
Sure do miss this man being on our planet. ❤
💯!
Give your life to God and meet Prince in heaven ❤

The way Prince corrects the crowd.
So honest.He takes no prisoners.Legend.
He felt he was rushing into expressing lyrics and was not ready as of yet to go into next line of song and wanted to give it more time so made expression as not ready because wanted everyone to feel lyrics.. Was not so much everyone singing off tune in sense.. People in entertainment know more of what I mean.. It was a way of expressing too good to go there with rush so soon.. I am interested in entertainment and understand concept of entertaining so picked up on concept of it.. You have to have heart for entertainment and really fully understand concept to really get what I mean..
@@lalaroberts1507 No it was just that they were off tune lol rushing or dragging was not a factor here, he's in complete control of the tempo and if he didn't want them singing along there are ways to signal that (playing louder, body language)
@@lalaroberts1507 way to much jibber jabber
he just wanted MORE from the crowd.
Singer louder, more convincing.
There was nothing that irked him more then a tame crowd or people who were to full of themselves to enjoy his performances,
just look at Cardashian that got called on stage and stood there like a plank prompting his "GET OFF MY STAGE"
You are all correct
@@lalaroberts1507 not really that but that's important
All races loved this man, he was a treasure ❤
He wasn't only one of the best musicians ever. He was also one of the most charming and intelligent people ever.
Such a loss!
he was exceptionally cool
An excellent guitarist gone to soon ❤😊
The master at work !
Prince, the greatest musician, of all time 😀
Genius and sexiest man ever to boot 😭❤ wish I’d seen him live 😢
I really wish you had the chance to see him live. I only saw him live once - in 1984 and to this day it was the best concert I ever attended. Saw him play every instrument on stage. Legend
If you had seen him live, you would start praying to Prince instead of God. That happened to me when I heard him play live in Stockholm. It was nothing less than an outofbody experience! Still cant believe how good he was. A true genius in a league of his own... ! There was and never will be any comparison, mark my words !!!
@@tinabjorklund6732 he was a great musician, no doubt…but praying to dead Prince instead of the living God…he wasn’t that great.
Oh man! The acoustic guitar work is really something else..😮
Such a talent…sorely missed
"You know i wrote this while looking in the mirror" Arrogance and cockyness and we love him for it. Insane Talent!
Well, it could be true. Prince is an enigma!!!!!
Genius has no need for apology and he knew it...
And it makes sense when you listen from that perspective. It sounds like a song he wrote as a personal affirmation. His brilliance is the interpretations that can derive from the lyric. Total genius!

And stop the song multiple times
Only 4 strings too!!
MJ was just sitting in audience in big award shows and people were still looking at him only and not what's going on the stage. Stop sneak dissing my man Michael you prince fans
Dude, Michael could NEVER play guitar like that. FACT
To this day there is no recording artist like Prince who was simply extraordinary
David Bowie is a lot like Prince and vice versa.
Most underrated guitar player in history.
True! He was amazing
This!!! 💯❤️
The only musician to engage the audience to follow him in the way he wants. Untouchable in the music industry!
what about freddie?
Well Give me Ian Dury and the Blockheads any day..
He's not the only one, there are many.
Jack White's working on it 👍
He was the Pied Piper! He has the audience in the palm of his hand.
His guitar is an extension of his mind, fn' whats amazing is he lives the melody with the crowd
Sad. I didn’t explore and appreciate Prince as the stellar artist that he was until after he was gone. Genius. Once in a generation genius.

@@josephdavishka2509 ...me, too.
Hey man same here. My dad has always been into Prince but i guess i wasn't ready till now, despite all his attempts. Recently got into the guitar and only now can i truly appreciate what a master he is.
Hey, as I am lucky enough :-) to be 53, I've been following him since Purple Rain and have seen him live (Belgium & Holland) on 17 occasions.
I was at the L A Coliseum 1982,and he was the first on stage. Was a Stone concert, people booed and during his second music start throwing whatever they had at him.I was far from the stage,he end up running out, first time i heard and got to know Prince. At the time thought that was it for him, he came on stage wearing woman garter pants under a long jacket,,,was weird. Nobody there knew who he was, he had my age 23 .
I love this clip of him. It shows how playful he could be. He has always been described as a perfectionist but here he’s just playing around. The world got a whole lot dimmer when we lost him. RIP PRINCE.❤
He was a perfectionist!
I like that you picked up on that, perfectionism in music or sports is a psychosis, but healthy, when I sang in a band I would sing one single song in practice by myself at least 100 times, to deliver "perfect" vocals.
Showmanship. It's unreal how comfortable he is on stage. That's a superstar for ya.
Not sure how true it is but in one documentary that I saw, he actually had stage freight and took drugs to help out.
@@Senorzilchnzero i could chug a bucket of drug cocktails yet still dont know what to do upstage 🤷♂️

@The ToeCutter hey where's Johnny The Boy 🙈😂😂 oh sorry about The Night Rider...👍👍
Noah good you know now!
His music really has transcended time huh 😌
@port nut That's the other problem with age, many tend to think it can't get any better or be as creative as what you remember. Take a good look at the 80s and 90s where Prince and all my bias for what was great and creative in music is, and you will find it is just a lot of copy from what came before.
I did know Prince was talented back then despite it not being my favorite type of music. My understanding is he played all the interments when creating and sometimes all the recording but needed to hire a band to tour.
Just wowzers!
This is SOOOOO good! As a musician I don't know if a non musician gets how GOOD this is. Sir Prince Rogers.... You are legend
Thats a bit
He was a virtuoso on guitar
Oh, we do. He's pure magic.
Perfection. And I'm musician.
What so amazing is that you can strip the song down to a single acoustic guitar and it still grooves. Hard. Then his sense of groove is so strong that he can lead the entire crowd and keep them locked in.
One of my favorite performances of Cream from Prince. Love it!

It’s crazy that he’s doing this with just an acoustic guitar, but you still hear the whole band! That’s talent!

Taylor guitars was a client of mine; we photographed the guitars for their catalog. One day the Art Director called me over to the side of Taylor's lobby and said "check it out", pointing to a new case. I opened it and was looking at the most beautiful purple custom Taylor acoustic. She whispered "go on, try it out", and I played it for a few minutes. Beautiful guitar. I put the guitar back in the case and as she closed it and gave it to the shipping manager, she said "You just got to play Prince's new custom Taylor". The guitar in this video. That's kinda cool. Thank you Prince. We miss you terribly.
So cool.

As a musican and singer/songwriter he has to be one of the best ever but as a perfomer I can't think of an equal.
Yep simply the best
What's fascinating here is the interplay between his extremely expressive voice and the guitar work which is so electric, fanciful, tactile and gymnastic. Yes, gymnastic guitar work that prods and pokes and draws us right up to Heaven. This is where he really shone. Alone, not weighed down by others, not fenced in by their limitations. Just him alone, shining, glowing in his element.

So electric, ? the fact it’s an acoustic guitar is what makes this so special. It’s taken me six months to learn this and I’ve been playing for over ten years.
